Jeff, manager, and team were great, quick, thorough and affordable. What I appreciate more than anything was the quality of work and honesty. in todays market, unfortunately, we the consumer can be taken advantage. This was not the case with Walnut Creek Automotive. The detailed maintenance report they send you via text is an outstanding touch. Central Automotive knows how to treat their customers. “About a month go, my tire light came on and didn't feel comfortable driving all the way home from work so I stopped by here to have it checked. turns out, near the valve of the tire was damaged. So had them replace it. 15 mins later and $35 I was on my way. I noticed they did other services besides tires and made mental note.So, now it's been a minute (ok, about a year) since I had my old changed. Light never came on, but then my commute is 8 minutes and not 25 miles which could sometimes take me an 1.5 when I lived down south. I also had a great mechanic in LB so was hesitant and I sure as hell wasn't going to pay dealership service charges and then tell me I needed something "extra". Got off work early and called to see if they had availability for that day. Yes they did. 5 mins later, I was here (conveniently located near my job) no frills, no upcharge and 30 min later, and 79.00 voila, synthetic oil change and good to go for another 6 months. Friendly, better bureau registered and registered with State of CA. Legit service. Cash or Debit card only. Says it on the wall, I'm saying it in the review so no excuse to say ya didnt know.”

Havingb paid an arm and a leg at the Diablo Subaru dealership, we tried out this shop and have been bringing our Subarus here since. Through axels and brake pads being replaced, after getting other quotes from other shops we've consistently found this place to be well within range for different kinds of work. Most of all, we appreciate how they are honest and never push any unnecessary work, and how they have our best interests in mind.”

“This was my first visit to Fred's Wrenchouse, and I had a great experience. My repair could have cost more than it did, but they simply did what was necessary to make my car both driveable and aesthetically pleasing and I was on my way a few hours later. This process was made easier because after I dropped my car off in the morning, I was able to go around the corner to Pete's coffee and worked there for 4-4.5 hours on my laptop, and my car was ready to be picked up before 2 PM. Clearly, with all their high ratings here on Yelp, this business doesn't need another one, but I think it's important to keep reviewing so that new customers know they are still doing quality work, in a reasonable amount of time, for a fair market price, and not doing more/charging more if it isn't needed. I had the repair completed the first few days of October 2023, and 6 weeks later it's still feeling solid and my car drives so much more smoothly after the fact.”

“My car broke down last Thursday, and I was trying to find a mechanic to take my car to. Car Care Service was very responsive and was able to accommodate my tow-in at the last minute. Long was friendly and helped me complete my intake paper quickly right before they closed. My car is running great and the price for the repair of my alternator it was pretty reasonable. I am very glad that I was introduced to this mechanic and will be coming back if I need service.”

I always feel that Terry is looking out for MY best interests. We always have good conversations about what work needs to be done vs what work could be done and the pros, cons and risks (if any). “I have been going to Ace Auto Care since I moved to Lafayette, and continued going since I moved to Concord. They are respectful, honest, and fair. It may not be as convenient for me to bring my car back to Lafayette, but I know they will take care of my car.An example of their integrity: I have many stories of them being upstanding mechanics, but this one stood out to me the most. I brought my car in for a fix, they did their repairs and I started driving away. I noticed an odd sound, so I turned around and brought it right back. They looked at it, saw there was something they missed, and fixed it right away with no additional cost (it was a minor thing). “I was very wary of going to anybody but my usual mechanic but I was stuck in island for a couple of weeks and my regular guy had rushed to replace the transmission in my Tahoe before I left and hadn't had time for the oil change. I never, ever go past 5000 miles, especially in warm weather, so it was nagging on me to get it done. The price was fair and the guys were fast, I told them what I did and didn't want done and that the car takes 8 quarts 0w20. So far so good.”

“I haven't used a mechanic in 12 years due to mistrust and working on my own cars. I went there on a recommendation from a friend I trust and I have to say they were excellent. They only did the work they needed to do they sent me pics of parts that needed work, then they did it all quickly. No upselling or trying to cash in on un needed work. It's been 6 months and everything they did is working perfectly. This is the only place I will trust with my vehicle from now on”

“It'd be 5 stars if the place we're a bit bigger. The staff can't do anything about that though. If you're coming at rush time you'll probably be stuck in the street waiting in line which can get awkward. But the service is great everyone knows what they're doing. Once you get to the front it goes by pretty quickly. They also do courtesy checks for your transmission fluid and some other things. Overall it's a nice experience.”

I work in orinda and have had this nasty noise coming from my rear wheel. 2 mechanics before taking it here told me they were “unsure” what the noise was. Jaimie, an incredible service advisor got me in within an hour of talking to him. Come to find out I was basically driving around a death machine due to bad prior mechanic work. Pete was the tech that got me all fixed and back on the road in an hour ! Would 1000000% recommend if you are looking for a fair, competent shop to take care of your prize possession, or even just your daily driver. Great price too!”
