“This review is primarily for Alexis. I had a really bad experience with my phone yesterday, and I had already been to Best Buy and the Verizon store in Pinole. They could not help me, so I was sebt to the store in El Cerrito. Alexis immediately started helping me, and had me all set up. I ended up having to come back due to my own issue, and she once again helped get me all set up. Thanks so much to Alexis for her help on what was a very traumatic day for me.”

“Expert. Trustworthy. Reliable help. 2024 UPDATE As a small business owner I've used LMI's IT and repair services for over a decade. LMI is the only IT service I trust that works with home offices like mine. Worth my crossing the Bay for! Yes I looked around closer to home. One IT service, in my neighborhood, sold me a bad charger that fried my laptop battery. Not trust-inspiring-- if they got a charger wrong, what could happen with their IT? I had Internet , too, through LMI. Then switched to Sonic's high-speed fiber, *only* because Sonic reached my area with that before LMI did. LMI's now expanding their own high-speed fiber. I kept my LMI email boxes for years after. That gave me time to gradually, selectively migrate my business contacts over, and archive key emails. With that finally done, LMI's Support team walked me through my last steps. With the same generous, expert support I've always gotten from LMI. So glad to keep LMI's IT and repair services! And fully recommend LMI's high-speed Internet too. PRIVACY Both LMI and Sonic are stellar when it comes to protecting our privacy. No selling our browsing history, as most Internet Providers do. They don't even keep our emails beyond a few weeks or so. Plus they're independent, and staying that way!”

“I was perate to buy a new phone, because my ancient iPhone suddenly decided to stop making outgoing calls. It just so happened that Boost had a special on certain iPhones, and this particular store had one left of the model I wanted. I rushed over to the store, not expecting anything beyond the usual lengthy, annoying process of buying and activating a new phone. I had seen that the store had a very low review rating, so I was prepared for the worst. Instead, I got great, patient, friendly help with my purchase, and skilled help with activating my new phone and migrating my info from my old phone. Over the two hours I was there, (my original phone was quite old, so uploading my old info was sloooow). there was a steady influx of customers, mostly colorful folks from the surrounding neighborhood. The owner Chris and Jeremiah, my sales person/tech guy, made a real effort to help each one of the customers in a kind. effective way. A number of the people who dropped in were just there to say hi. The place feels more like a friendly community center than a electronics store. I asked the owner about his clientele, and he said many were more friends than customers. He has been in business there since 1988, and he said, "We're the only one left (meaning a neighborhood gathering place), and I'll die here." Chris, Jeremiah and the rest of the staff are offering a true community service along with a peasant pace to buy a new phone or a honkin' sub woofer. 10/10 would buy from them again.”

“Jim is great. He runs Brand-X super professionally and has a deep understanding of network setups and concerns. They piggy back off ATT, so you do have to worry about ATT being spotty and shafting bandwidth lessees, but this is the case with many of the big companies too (many just use the others' infrastructure in a given place). Billing is honest and accurate, and services is second to none. The only reason not to use Brand-X is if you need guaranteed uptime like a business line, but otherwise they're the best in the Bay!”

They use TP link equipment which in my experience is highly reliable. The WIFI bandwidth is higher than advertised even with the basic rate. “After suffering through multiple calls to support I went to the store on Geary st and Bryan helped me get all the correct discounts as advertised for combining Internet and two cell lines.Xfinity services are so complicated even most employees don't know how to navigate. Bryan did. Go there and ask for him by name. He's doing the (financial) lords work over there.”
