This included installing another transmission. However, he was able to screw the drain plug with the remaining threads on the case. It is holding after two months. “Steve is now my forever go-to mechanic in Seattle. I live here in southern CA but bought a used Audi for my daughter who lives and attends college in WA. Imagine my daughter's horror: I just bought her a used, pretty little car with AWD. She was in love at first sight. I had it checked out with my SoCal mechanic and everything was great. All of the services were done at a local Audi dealer on time every time... did I mention from the Audi dealer? But within a week of transporting the car to her an alert screams "Switch Off Engine! The oil pressure is low!" She calls crying as she driving home from work saying she didn't do anything wrong but the alert tells her to stop driving immediately. I desperately tried to find a reputable mechanic over the weekend - out of state - with no knowledge of the city but thankfully Yelp led me to Steve. He was quick to respond and even allowed her to come that very morning despite his loaded schedule. He diagnosed her car, sent me texts of each inspection check he performed (with pictures) using an app of some sort that was very detailed. He discovered the problem was a broken solenoid bolt that caused the oil leak; replaced it; added new oil; drove it around to check the oil pressure; rechecked any faulty codes and called me to tell me my daughter's car is all fixed.... ... Wait for it ... The bill was just a fraction of the costs I thought I might have a pay. He could have said it was a gasket leak, or worse engine damage, etc. I wouldn't know and couldn't know but he was thorough, honest, and so impressively great professional. I love cars, but I'm not a mechanic and he saved me. He saved my dad-cred, saved me time, energy and money. I'm my daughter's hero but he's my mechanic hero. I will never send my daughter anywhere else. Everyone else in Seattle should do the same. Thanks Steve.”

“If I could give 10 stars, I would. I've been dealing with serious grating noises in my 13 yo volvo for 8 months and my usual repair shop could not figure it out, recently saying they thought it was a transmission problem that would cost more to fix than the car was worth. I decide I might as well try to find a Volvo specialist for one last evaluation and found Larry's with its terrific reviews. Larry's diagnosed and then fixed the problem (engine mounts) within two days and restored the car to great shape. I was stunned. Larry's is a small shop and a little funky in a Beacon Hill neighborhood, but it has Volvo mechanics who know what they are doing. And really nice people too. Best car repair experience in my life and I'm no spring chicken.”

“Ed (and I'll call him Uncle Steve - who is sometimes there to just help family out at the shop) went above and beyond. My car was initially acting up with 3 indicator lights showing up on the dash when I brought it in. By the next morning when Ed took at a look at it, only the check engine light was on and my car was running fine after multiple test drives. He gave me the list of computer codes and recommended I take it to the dealership because it was likely that the errors could be due to recalled parts. He knew the dealership would need to make those repairs for free which is why he suggested I check with them first. I really appreciate his honestly!On a side note, Ed (whose brother, Ron, started the business years ago) and Uncle Steve have been part of the community for decades. It's clear they really care about Skyway and the South end in general. Just one more reason to continue supporting this local business!”

“I do medical transport for people in wheelchairs, and my wheelchair van suddenly got an extremely loud noise coming from the exhaust. I called around to see if someone could check it out and was denied everywhere, but when I called Aurora Clutch & More and explained my situation to Derek - that I have patients waiting to be picked up - he told me to come in! He got my van directly up onto the lift, diagnosed the noise, fixed it, and had me out of there in time to pick up my next patient. On top of that, he refused to charge me because it was an easy fix. Any mechanic would have charged me, and probably a little extra for such short notice. You really don't see that kind of genuine kindness and neighborly service anywhere! Thank you!”
