“I love this place. I've used them on several occasions over the last few years and every time their customer service is excellent--they treat me as if I was a friend coming over for a visit. Typically I pack my own packages but with the crunch of the holidays, I didn't have time to find a box, buy tape, etc. So today I asked them to do it--so fast, so easy, and very affordable. And the wait is typically very short, if any (today there was no wait). Definitely recommend The Mailbox.”

“My introduction to Sip and Ship at its Ballard location occurred in 2012 when I found myself in need of professional help to ship a rather large painting with both monetary and sentimental vallue to an East Coast address. Much to my relief, the staff at Sip and Ship was up to the challenge in preparing the art work for safe shipping and timely arrival.Based on that experience more than 10 years ago, I have continued to rely on Sip and Ship for a variety of shipping challenges and the occasional need for expiditing personal communications by email or fax or obtaining notary services including witnessing by staff members when needed.I have come to realize that Sip and Ship is much more than a business for shipping services but actually a hub for finding that special message card or perfect gift for almost every occassion as well as taking that much needed interruption to the daily grind by enjoying your preferred brew of coffee or a delicious homemade pastry at the coffee bar at the rear of the shop. She is a great small business owner with empathy, ownership, and customer obsession and willing to listen to customers. I would say that my not very pleasant experience turned out to have a happy ending as I think we have a trustworthy UPS store owner to support our neighborhood. Appreciate it.==== The following is my original one-star review===I cannot believe about the horrible experience on my packages during this holiday season at Lakemont UPS shop. I had 2 critical identification document shipped to me on Next day Air and I requested them to be delivered to the Lakemont store for pick-up because I can’t risk the packages to be left at front door. They were shown delivered on 12/26 1:19pm on the tracking so I went to pick them up. A store assistant named Taylor checked the computer and said “we don’t have them, they were not delivered, you need to call the 800 numbers, we are just store not UPS, we don’t know anything”. I asked if he could just check in the back to see just in case. He showed no sign of helping but arrogance and yelling. I was lucky to talk to the UPS driver who delivered my packages right outside the store. He was so nice and helped me go to the store and ask again. Guess what? They found my packages. Even with the fact, Taylor didn’t show any apology of mishandling my packages and providing wrong information. In the meanwhile, I want to thank Eddie who is really helpful and found my packages at the end, also to the UPS driver who stepped for me and ask/check the store again.”

“I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary here, and each time I’ve come prepared and didn’t need much “help” per se, so I can’t speak to some of the negative reviews. Personally, I’ve witnessed the owners being incredibly helpful to people, even going so far as to cut down a bigger box to a smaller size to save the customer in front of me some cost on shipping. I have used the notary service for witnessing legal signatures, used the UPS dropoff, and shipped via FedEx. Each time has been a great experience. If I had to complain I would say that there can be occasionally long wait times but that’s because (in my experience) each customer is getting really great, comprehensive service which takes longer than the “meh” service you experience elsewhere. Support local businesses, give this place a try.”

“The husband-wife duo was supremely helpful in their advice and efficiency in getting my important pkg to its destination across the country. They made at least four suggestions that I followed..........and I've shipped hundreds of pkgs before. They went out of their way to creatively make sure my pkg was safely packed and didn't even charge me for the little but important extra that they did. I wasn't EVER going to use this business because of their name, but I needed DHL and they were the only ones. It turns out that DHL in the U.S. can only be international (undoubtedly due to powerful lobbying from FedEx and UPS). I was also totally screwed over by another, nearby, small mailing business last year and was also not going use another small mailing business, but I will definitely use this one again......despite their awful name! (Started and named by a British guy, BTW, who didn't understand its origin!)”

The gentleman at the front let us know this, then proceeded to help us tape up the package and apply the new packing slip, AND give us directions to the nearest FedEx store.
