“I stumbled across this dark corner of Austin and it warmed my cold dead heart to know it exists. Full of all things weird including taxidermy and wet specimens. Creepily perfect in all ways.”

“I took my granddaughter to a workshop today and it was soooooo much fun! We learned alot about candlemaking in general and blending scents, and we each took home unique candles that were perfect for our personalities. We will definitely go back!”

“I have the edible arrangements app, and I was so surprised to see a free goodie from them. Totally excited to see what the goodie is. I came in first thing in the morning on my way to work. I spoke with April about my free goodie. And she asked what I'd like. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so she listed a few items. I eventually decided on 3 chocolate dipped strawberries. The strawberries were made fresh, and they did need set so the chocolate would dry. So I sat down on their couch that they have in their lobby. My strawberries were done in about 10 minutes. I spoke with April a little bit. I was so grateful and appreciative with these gorgeous large chocolate dipped strawberries, AND THEY WERE FREE! I think this location is a new location for them. Looked like they were still setting uptheir store. Super impressed with my service this morning. April was a doll. And my fresh large chocolate dipped strawberries are delicious!”

“My friend was in search of local postcards and picked out this place. They have postcards and then some! I think we spent an hour looking through everything. So many fun little gifts and souvenirs. We especially got a kick out of the themed energy drinks.”

“I love these pickles but 12.50 order and 19.00 to ship. Caught me by surprise. Probably just use the regular ones you get at any fickle pickle place from now on. I ordered some you can’t get at local stores. Anyway still best pickles ever just won’t order again ?”

“Had the chance to explore Son of a Sailor while visiting this side of town and enjoyed exploring the shop for about twenty minutes. This shop has tons of gifting ideas (or for you to take back home yourself) for any occasion. Take the time to see all the different items and knick knacks. I ended up taking home a piece for my desk which is a ceramic rainbow. Everytime I see it, it always brings a smile to my face. Son of a Sailor is a thoughtful and carefully curated shopping experience. Get lost in the window shopping experience but don't be afraid to take home a few items.”

“Awesome boutique in South Congress! I visited Little Limbo, as the A-frame sign drew me, pointing to the store on the side street, with a promise of cute gifts. Indeed there was. Little Limbo may not be large, as the name suggests, but it's really about the quality of items for sale here. I was able to find a lot of really awesome gifts for friends and couldn't help but laugh at a ton of items because they were either sarcastic or goofy. I dig that. The children's selection here is on point. I don't have any kids in my life, but if I did, this would be the kind of store I'd shop at. They have funny onesies and quirky and colorful toys, that you can just tell are from local artists and is unique. In addition to lots of cool kid's stuff here, they have a few home decor and accessories, some graphic tees, books and trendy greeting cards. I found a Michael Scott greeting card, which was perfect for my best friend. Five stars, indeed.”

“I am so happy I discovered this place! Zein, the owner, is so kind and helpful and knows so much about her products. We chatted for almost an hour about them. She personally hand picks and designs these products in the Middle East. All of her products are authentic, beautiful, and many are even antique or vintage originals. None of the product is mass produced or Americanized copies, it’s amazing and I can’t wait to go back! We need more small businesses like this, it’s so hard to find authentic products like this, thanks for keeping it real! And to anyone who thinks this place is “too expensive” (I read the VERY FEW negative reviews) please bear in mind this is a small business owned by one woman, not a corporation, who travels around the world to collect this inventory. You might be used to lower prices for the mass produced products we are used to buying for cheap in the USA but you can’t get products like this for $9.99. You definitely get what you pay for and it is worth every penny! If you want it cheap and fake, get it on Amazon. If you want it real, go here!PS The stores refund/exchange policy is CLEARLY marked at check out and the owner was clear about it as well when I made my purchases, I have serious doubts about the one or two negative reviews that claim otherwise…”

“Really great staff! Super friendly and knowledgeable. It's not a huge store but they still have a pretty wide selection. I went in for a battery and realized they sell a ton more stuff. I'll definitely be back.”

“While being at a hospital is oftentimes not for very joyful experiences, small spots like this can help brighten up the day of both patients and visitors alike. There is a wide variety of different items available for gifts, comfort, and even a soda machine, coffee, and refrigerated food items in case you need something close and quick. The real reason MVP of the offerings, however, are the Tyler Candles. Made here in Texas (Tyler, TX, of course), the hospital gift shop offers a great selection of both fragrances and different products. I have special memories buying these candles all of the way up in Minnesota with my grandmother - it was cool to buy Tyler Candles when your name is Tyler, you know? But being in a place of high stress and emotion, smelling some of those familiar scents brought me to a very tranquil place. Thanks, St. David’s/Atrium Gift Shop for the opportunity to reflect and relive fun memories.”

“Not what I expected at all. We thought it would be more "weird" like fun weird, but it was geared more towards like horror/science gone wrong weird. I'm sure it's a great little place for people but not somewhere I'd take my kid again.”

“The Capital building itself was absolutely brilliant and an eye-opening experience, the history, well it's a fantastic place to visit, the gift shop itself was ok and my wife enjoyed picking up a few bits to bring back to the UK.”

“Five stars for the view, but only 2 for the food. Drinks are decent, but overpriced. Be prepared to wait in line if you're planning on going there in a pretty day to watch the sunset. Sunday is salsa day, which is really fun to watch.”

“Really neat selection of merchandise, there were different Pokémon type shirts and a lot of different Pokémon and Disney merchandise. There was some anime stuff too, though I'm kind of out of date with what's in. We went for a squish drop, and weren't successful there, but had a nice time.”
