“I stumbled across this dark corner of Austin and it warmed my cold dead heart to know it exists. Full of all things weird including taxidermy and wet specimens. Creepily perfect in all ways.”

“What an amazing experience! Excellent customer service and lovely people! High quality clean vintage furniture at a fair price. I am in love with my Nathan dining table and chairs from the 1960s. Impeccable.”

“I was at a loss where to take my Hypervolt massage gun that my kids dropped and broke off the electrical end. Sigh. Kids ruin everything. Regardless, I truly expected them to just give me a name of an electrician or shop to try to take this but he looked at it with me for a while and decided the least expensive option was to electrical tape it and fixed for me for free! I really thank you Tipler’s for the amazing and kind service.”

“Checked this place out and was not disappointed. There were so many things to see and buy! Seriously, this place had every little Knick knack, antique, jewelry piece, and even a real cadaver or two…spooky. You’ll be pleasantly surprised what you’ll find here. Just a tip, may not be the best place for young children as there are MANY fragile objects within reach. Be aware if you have a curious child. Overall, the prices for some things were pretty steep. Though, other times I thought some of them were fair, but only slightly. Very unique store I hope to come back to for some of their higher end items.”

“Absolutely awesome owner. He may not remember us but we came into his life when our house burned down and all we possed was a car on its last let and a trunk full of fatigues we left that day three years ago with the money to fix our car and rent a cheap room for a couple weeks. What I'm saying is the man is awesome and will give you the fairest price sometimes even though he doesn't need the items. You are awesome ???”

“Best mid century modern store in Austin. There's not even a close second. Kind of on the north side of town - but worth the drive. Nice selection of furniture, lamps, ceramics, tables, chairs - all the basics. Friendly owners that know about their inventory, are knowledgeable about the manufacturers and designers.”

“This little antique store packs so much in it that you need to set aside a good chunk of time to really experience it all. It also is deceptively larger than it looks. I picked up one or two little gems and I'll definitely be coming back with friends in the future.”

“So fun looking at all the unique pieces here. I would definitely recommend this store over Uncommon Objects in terms of price. Far Out Home Fittings has really neat and unique objects for a fraction of the price of what you pay just down the street at Uncommon Objects. Great for vintage furniture, paintings, dishes, and home decor.”

“What a wonderful store! Owner is very kind and has outfitted my mother for a decade with beautiful rugs, cloths and jewelry. The first time I walked in he was warm and welcoming. My family plans to return to him and continue to support this awesome local Austin business.”

“My friend and I came to Austin for the Formula 1 race, but Lotus Gallery ended up being the highlight of my trip. I'm a 3rd generation antique enthusiast and always make an effort to explore the local haunts when traveling. When I walked in I was honestly a bit intimidated. This was no flea market junk flip.. I was instead surrounded by museum quality asian antiquities, some priced at well over $100k. It felt like being inside a museum where everything just happened to be for sale. In my pre judgement bias, I became suspicious the employee would want no part of me if he thought my pockets weren't deep enough. I couldnt have been more wrong. John, the owners son, had a limitless supply patience for my questions. I was so in awe of everything around me I spent 3 hours inside the gallery that first day, asking him dozens of questions. I was charmed to find that the gallery also had smaller and more affordable pieces, literally something for everyone at almost every price point. Every variation of Buddha from every age, vases, bronzes, busts, statues, jewelry, furniture and textiles can be found here. I fell in love with and ended up purchasing a nine, yes NINE () hundred year old Chinese bronze vase from the Song dynasty. John ended up being more than willing to negotiate on the price which put it into my price range. In conclusion, you get the feeling that this store is truly a passion project for the owner and her son John. If you like old things of beauty, history, and mind boggling craftsmanship from every corner of Asia, GO. TO. LOTUS. GALLERY. -Trevor”

“What a pleasure dealing with Austin Auction Gallery and Victoria. This is my very first experience dealing with turning over my property (sterling silver flatware) for auction. And it was a pleasant one! Auction isn't until November but I'm looking forward to a very successful result. Thanks for your patience with this first timer Victoria!”

“I don't understand all the negative reviews. The workers are great and they have a huge selection of antiques. Yes, they may be a little more expensive but this is Austin and the rent obviously will be a little higher than a store in a small town.”

“Spoke to Paul about my little old coin collection (non precious medals), and even though they specialize in bulk collections and precious medals, Paul was super helpful in pointing me in the right direction as far as where to go to get my coins valued and where to get them graded and what book to check out (The Red Book) to get a general idea of what my coins might be worth depending on their grade. Would definitely check them out if you have precious medals -- gold or silver to sell or a bulk of many many coins, as they really took extra time and care to help me even though I didn't have what they needed to make a deal, so I believe that speaks to their integrity and excellence.”

“I am so happy I discovered this place! Zein, the owner, is so kind and helpful and knows so much about her products. We chatted for almost an hour about them. She personally hand picks and designs these products in the Middle East. All of her products are authentic, beautiful, and many are even antique or vintage originals. None of the product is mass produced or Americanized copies, it’s amazing and I can’t wait to go back! We need more small businesses like this, it’s so hard to find authentic products like this, thanks for keeping it real! And to anyone who thinks this place is “too expensive” (I read the VERY FEW negative reviews) please bear in mind this is a small business owned by one woman, not a corporation, who travels around the world to collect this inventory. You might be used to lower prices for the mass produced products we are used to buying for cheap in the USA but you can’t get products like this for $9.99. You definitely get what you pay for and it is worth every penny! If you want it cheap and fake, get it on Amazon. If you want it real, go here!PS The stores refund/exchange policy is CLEARLY marked at check out and the owner was clear about it as well when I made my purchases, I have serious doubts about the one or two negative reviews that claim otherwise…”

“Amazing paper exhibit! We got to see an ordinal Gutenberg press and bible. We learned about the early days of book printing and binding. To think that you'd buy a book as a stack of papers, and select an artist binder. The samples were like jewelry. Learning about how playwrights work with directors to try and recreate what's in their imagination was fascinating.”

“Really interesting fellow. He showed me this philips keyboard from possibly the late 80s that uses NMB dome with slider switches. But the crazy thing is that the sliders are shaped differently than the ones found in the Dell QuietKey! I think this board changes the history as we know it of NMB switches— this board has some kind of precursor or gen 0 version of the quietkey switch. The feeling isn’t amazing tho”

“Sorry for posting this here instead of a review as UT reuse store admins declined to post this on their social media.I was there in the store this Thursday, 12/07/2023, between 3.15 pm to 3.52 pm. While my black, Toyota Camry was hit by someone and escaped while parked there. I have filed a police complaint and they are assisting with whatever footage got recorded in my front and back dash-cam. However, help is needed with any information that would lead to finding the culprit. I would reward them with half my deductible amount that would have otherwise been spent on the repairs. “So much to see. A lot there that you can’t see, but you should definitely ask if they have what you were looking for. Austin was incredibly helpful and I found more than what I was looking for. Pricing was very reasonable.”

“Amazing store with unique, high-end, and exquisitely bespoke pieces. As an interior designer it was one of the best experiences to meet with Eric Garcia. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and surpassed any expectations for customer service. I highly recommend this beautiful gallery for consumers and professionals alike.”
