“I was really happy with my 2006 Ford Escape. It was in like new condition and low miles. So you may be asking yourself what am I doing at a used car lot on Portland's notorious for used car lots 82nd Avenue.So, there was this lady out driving around on February 1, 2023, and she wasn't paying attention to my car going through the intersection and I couldn't avoid her. I'll spare you all her drama and hysterics. End result, this particularly unpleasant lady's negligence resulted in my car being totaled.After what I thought was an appropriate mourning period, I felt ready to welcome another Ford Escape back into my life. Finding right one was a tiresome process. Some didn't match their profile photo, and that was just a deal breaker.I wanted to have my dads blessing when I thought I found one I could be happy with. He inspected the profile and agreed. So yesterday afternoon we drove to Barron's Auto Sales and Details.It was pretty much love at first sight. My soon to be 2010 Ford Escape was just sitting there all golden and gleaming in the sunshine peeking through the clouds. We got the keys and me and my dad took it for a little test drive. I felt right at home sitting behind the wheel. My dead was impressed with the way it drove.We both agreed I should buy it. My finances were limited as I haven't been paid for my beloved 06. We went into the office and met Hugo Lara and discussed a price we were both happy with.I'm almost embarrassed to admit this but I've never bought a car on my own. Ive always used my own money but my dad has always been there and I'm so grateful for that.So I thought I was going into this with pre approval. Nope. So I'm also grateful for Mr. Lara for giving me a brief education on how pre approval works and his efforts to secure an auto loan for me with a reasonable monthly payment and interest rate.Thank you Hugo Lara for making a used car purchase a pleasant experience.2023 Review-#5”

“So I flew up to Portland last year to check out a 4Runner at another dealer nearby. But as I was driving past Platinum's lot in my rental car, I spotted the truck I knew I'd be leaving the city with... Walked in and met Slav, one of the owners. Slav had intimate knowledge of 4Runners after getting his start building them up as a mechanic years ago. We hit it off. So I test-drove the other truck as a courtesy (they'd been holding it for me) and even took their truck back to Slav. In just a few minutes he pointed out all the previous damage, what they'd done to try and cover it up, and what issues I'd likely have in the future with it. He didn't feel like he was trying to degrade the other dealer, he just knew what to look for and was helping a friend. So it was no surprise that when I took Slav's 4Runner for a pre-purchase at Toyota, the dealer's one item that needed attention matched identically to the one item Slav had discussed with me, which he even offered to fix before I took it off the lot (and he did). "If you don't buy this truck, I will," said the mechanic at the pre-purchase (who already owned 4 other 4Runners himself). So I spent twice as much as I had intended to on that trip, but don't regret a single dollar a year later. Slav worked with me on the "financing" as well, and within a few days I was set and on the road. First stop were some hot springs en route south, and she felt right at home in the woods. My one-way flight to Portland sent me driving home with a truck I love and will own for years to come — thanks again, Slav. (@Slav — hey from Cali friend, sorry this took a year to drop. I'll have to come visit soon and show you all the upgrades I've done to her ?). Bottom line — trust these guys, they're young, they're smart, and they're a legit shop.”
