“I tecently went in to the Hawthorne location (without an appointment) to fix a reverse (back-up) light issue on my VW Passat. Other shops wanted to charge me a lot of money just to diagnose the problem! The guys at ABE quickly put my car in the service bay, found the problem and corrected it for a very reasonable fee, and it only took about 45 min. Everyone who works here is polite, focused and super-knowledgeable. Personally, I don't think it's worth shopping around when the best service is right here in SE Portland”

“My brother in law and I came in to get a new battery after the car dealership my brother in law bought his car from told him the battery needed to be replaced.When we came in, Dennis the owner, asked if we really needed a new battery. He did a check on it and it turns out, it didn’t need to be changed. Saved him $100+ and ontop of it Dennis came out to clean the corrosion off the terminals for him. Great service, thanks Dennis!”

“I was lucky enough to have my son-in-law make me aware of this establishment. After being quoted $999 to get a new alternator at another shop. And being told it would take 4 hours to put a new alternator in my car, I took my car to United Battery after talking to my son-in-law. It took a little over an hour to get my new alternator and a new belt for $300. The customer service was outstanding and the staff was amazing. Thank you for being an honest dealer. You have a customer forever.”

“Trent is absolutely amazing. He has been at this location for 3 years and owns a Volvo so understood my car a 2005 VW Teurig. He and I watched a you tube video together. I did not have the special tools to remove the casing for my headlights which were out except for my brights. What a genius!! He designed a tool to do the work I have a video of him doing this work during one of our icy cold wind storms! I was so impressed. He replaced all windshield wipers plus an extra one since there was a bogo special. Trust this store. I do. Please tell Trent M'lyn sent you.”

I've brought in many burned out bulbs, and the staff has found a replacement in seconds.I brought a phone in for repair, and they quoted an upfront price (which was VERY fair). They finished the job in just over an hour. I will bring all my phone repairs here in the future.They were a breath of fresh air in contast to fly by night phone repair places whose prices keep climbing until the repair is soon more than the cost of a new phone.”

“I left work and quickly discovered I had little to no brakes on my car. This was the closest O'Reilly's and I had no idea it wasn't a normal retail location. Alex helped me, and to say that he went above and beyond is an understatement. He came out to my car, identified the problem, then looked up the part. They didn't have it, so he tried looking at other Jeeps with the same engine. Still no luck. Then he went in the back and found a part that's identical to what I needed but for another car altogether! He was not only helpful but friendly as well, and they never made me feel like I was putting them out to help me. Thank you Alex.”
