“They have some great sales and good clothes. The shoes are pretty good too. My wife and I have been shopping here since our first was born 4 years ago. I knocked one star off because I wasted, very expensive, gasoline driving all the way here on a day and time they are supposed to be open and there was a sign in the window saying they had to close unexpectedly. My guess based on what's currently going on in the world is that they had zero staff. It's sad that it is so hard to find employees nowadays. In my opinion a manager should've come in and run the place, it is inexcusable to be closed in the middle of the day on a day you are scheduled to be open. I'll be calling in the future to make sure they are actually open before making the drive.”

“I never gave children's stores much attention before the birth of my (ridiculously handsome) baby son, but after he was born, I became intimately acquainted with how expensive kids can be. Fortunately, places like Pinwheels help take the edge off of clothing and entertaining the little guy!Clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, books, games, strollers, swings: it's all here! And it's all a bargain! Lightly used? Just about everything seems about as close to brand new as possible; *I'd* certainly never know the difference. There's even a "diaper depot" (as I like to call it anyway): a drop box where you can donate extra diapers you no longer need, so that others less fortunate can take them for free; a heartwarming touch that immediately endeared me to this place. The owner is a vibrant, wonderful woman who immediately engaged us upon entering, and make the whole experience a true pleasure. And she has an eye for style, quality, and most important in a resale shop: cleanliness! We bought a pair of shoes and a few toys this time around, but I foresee many return visits to Pinwheels, and not just to re-sell the clothes my son outgrows. I'd rather shop here for his needs than any big box store in the Portland area.”

“There aren't many baby stores you can go to in person anymore. My husband and I love this store and being able to see the baby gear in person. We bought our nursery glider here and we love it. The staff are always so kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning as we raise our little guy!”

“Love this store. They select nice stuff, so while it may be more expensive than other second-hand stores, I know its quality. I love that it is just down the street. They have an excellent selection of fun stuff. Thanks for everything you do!”

“Imagine if your Mother and Grandma owned a clothing store for tots and were also nicest, most fun people to be around in the world! They have the best selection and are so down to earth. I am completely blown away!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to come back!”

“Such a cute store with fun little items for everybody. My partner bought me a necklace from there and when it broke on the first ware they were so nice and replaced it for me without question. Great place, friendly people. Definitely check it out if you’re in portland!”

“What an amazing shop. My grandson absolutely loves this shop we could spend hours in there and we always find the best deals and treasures. So glad that you're in Gladstone”

“Beanstalk has some frustratingly limited hours, making it difficult to patronize on the regular (especially during the work week!), but when you do manage to get in the door, there's some fantastic treasures to be found here. Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Thankfully, Beanstalk is here to pick up the slack, but you DO have to make an effort to get here during operating hours, particularly if you work during the week: Saturday (from 10am to 5pm) is your only real available option.”

“This place is everything a brick and mortar store should be - it's a unique and personal place that perfectly serves its market. They have a great selection of everything they carry, everyone is knowledgeable and happy to help, and the store is just a fun place to be. The store's been in the owners family since 1919, and you can clearly feel that from the care and attention he and the staff give to both the customers and the store itself. The place is a true Portland landmark, and worth visiting if you need a new jacket, boots, or just a cool place to wander.”

“SO CLEAN AND VERY ORGANIZED!!!! Glad they are pickier with what they take in because it keeps their quality SO nice! (If there are negative reviews it’s only because their stuff wasn’t taken in trade and they are taking it personal instead of understanding it’s a small business doing a great job). Best kids/baby retail store hands down!! Great prices and great service!!! Worth the drive 100%”

“Love these people!!! They work hard to do business ethically and their clothes are terrific. I'm sorry my grandson is about to outgrow them since their kids' clothes stop at size 6. Will still buy for my daughter, though.”

“Such sweet boutique. Family owned and operated and after so many great store left Portland and Clackamas, this store definitely has a great selection of finer goods! I hope their business is blessed and does well.”

“This is my go-to local shop for all things baby/child. I can’t tell you how many gifts I’ve creatively gathered up for children’s birthday parties, baby showers, holiday toy drives, etc. I manage to walk out spending way less than retail pricing and I feel really good about supporting a local business and participating in the concept of less waste/reusing. This is a definite MUST for families and anyone buying for little ones (even if you aren’t a parent).”

“I love shopping local! When I was shopping before my first son's arrival it was a fun experience with knowledgable sales people. I am a full spectrum doula so I am familiar with tons of baby products but Diane was able to introduce me to new things that have been extremely useful. We are expecting our next child and are excited to head over to pick up a couple of items that we wished we had invested in the first time around. We're looking forward to seeing the new curated line up!”

“So why was I here on the far side of Portland yesterday? The answer is that this is one of the few places I can buy a 2X Tall shirt for my big boned son. This Eddie Bauer is located within a the large and disorienting Clackamas Town Center. That means that all I wanted to do is get in, find the place, buy the shirts, and get out ASAP. Yet, while I was here, the selection was decent, the clearance pricing was tempting, and our mission was accomplished.”

“Been consigning for years here. Always find good gear for the changing seasons. Friendly staff, went through the items to consign quickly—while I waited, I perused the books—high quality and wide ranging selection—I always find books on my list for my PreK classroom. For a small store, it’s well stocked—yet easy to peruse as it’s well organized and there are always sweet locally made treasures among the displays such as hand crafted hair accessories and the like. It’s right next to Starbucks and Whole Foods and a postal store which makes gift shopping easy one stop experience! Thank you”

“The store itself is good. I liked the clothes and accessories. Everything from extra small to 5x.The store employees were friendly and helpful. Not pushy, but around if you have questions. Now, the neighborhood, on the other hand, was questionable at best. 82nd and Powell is not the best area of Portland.”
