“Visited Game Stop today with my son to check out some Pokemon cards. The employee who helped us, Keegan, was incredibly knowledgeable about Pokemon and Nintendo games, as well as engaging and helpful. He even gave the small promo we earned directly to my kid and made him feel special during our entire time in the store! Thank you GameStop and Keegan for the great experience!”

“I LOVE this place. It's my first stop for all my kids' birthdays and for their friends' gifts. The staff is wonderfully helpful, and helped me pick the BEST card game for my burgeoning "[card] gamer" 6-year-old son, (game is called Sleeping Queens) after I mentioned he loved Uno.They also went down to their out-of-season stock to find me a beach bucket and water toys for a fundraiser basket I was helping fill.If you enjoy having a near-personal-shopper to guide you towards quality recommendations for the young and young-at-heart in your life, this is the place. Also: complimentary gift-wrapping. Need I say more?”

“Lots of toys. As it should be for a toy store. The prices are decent. They are of quality. Can you get it cheaper? Yea but you get to touch and see it in physical form. And you help the business out. Store is clean and plenty of room to walk around.”

“Literally the best customer service I have ever had. Avery helped me out with a pre-constructed set in a way that was waaaaayyyyy above the call of duty. She was amazing! Beautiful store, that is fully stocked. This is the only place I go for my Lego needs. Thanks a million.”

“There aren't many baby stores you can go to in person anymore. My husband and I love this store and being able to see the baby gear in person. We bought our nursery glider here and we love it. The staff are always so kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning as we raise our little guy!”

“I was visiting some friends in Portland with my wife. I told my friends the one thing I wanted to do was hit up a vintage toy shop. They found Dr. Tongue's and took me there on our last day in town. It's such a great little shop! Some cool vintage stuff that predates me, but also some of the stuff I wanted! I ended up grabbing a Rattrap Beast Wars Transformer figure, unboxed with card. I've been trying to find one and it's in great condition at a reasonable price! I wish I had the budget to grab the 5-6 other Beast Wars figures I wanted! Also some great original X-Men and Batman figures along with other stuff. It was a cool store, not too big, lots to see, lots I wanted, and the owner was very nice and helpful. I definitely want to come back and hunt some more!”

“SpielWerk Toys has been our family’s go-to toy store for over 8 years. Stacee continuously curates an amazing collection of thoughtful, intentional, open ended toys that will grow with your child. You could spend hours perusing everything - indoor, outdoor, pretend play, dolls, games and puzzles, books, baby toys, kitchen music, art, science, education, a large selection of beautiful heirloom wooden toys, etc. Stacee is always very helpful in recommending toys based off the child’s age and interests. The layout of the store always has you always finding new treasures and the play space keeps little ones entertained while you shop.”

“This place was very cool!!! The toys there were cool, people were nice, overall good experience! The bracelets were really cool. I got one a few years ago and I still have it, it looks like I bought it yesterday! I can admit, the bracelets are a bit pricey, but they are worth it !”

“This place is awesome, a perfect nerdy nest for anyone interested in Japanese pop culture and other similar fun things. As soon as I saw the exterior, my mood immediately lifted. My friend recommended it to me when I was having a tough day and ended up buying some holiday gifts and cute little things like stickers here. They have a lot to choose from, variety of prices (you can either come out barely spending anything to getting some expensive high quality merchandise) and the setup of the store is just very lovely to look at. The store owner was really nice and inclusive, you can tell they are passionate about what they do. I want to come back and bring everyone I know with similar interests.”

“Good k-pop selection at decent prices. Their openness for trading events is nice. The workers are always kind, too. They sell Harry Potter, which doesn’t bode well for trans allyship, but that’s my only complaint.”

“Beanstalk has some frustratingly limited hours, making it difficult to patronize on the regular (especially during the work week!), but when you do manage to get in the door, there's some fantastic treasures to be found here. Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Thankfully, Beanstalk is here to pick up the slack, but you DO have to make an effort to get here during operating hours, particularly if you work during the week: Saturday (from 10am to 5pm) is your only real available option.”

“Wow, we are so thrilled with our new play structure! Dave was so helpful designing an amazingly fun and unique structure in our tight space. His son, Ben, installed everything in a few days and was able to integrate it with an existing patio so the kids can access it from multiple directions. My girls couldn’t be happier and we have many years of fun memories to make. Thank you!”

“We first found Attic Salt in Spokane. When we realized that the Portland area also has this store, what a great surprise! I think that the Portland stores are all called Fuego, but it is the same great stuff.”

“Excellent book store, you can find anything you would need bookwise, their manga, manwha section is very stocked all the time. You can also find anime figures, from banpresto to figuarts. American comics area also has a good selection of titles.”

“Great store. Lots of fun new and used Legos to check out. Bins you can rummage through for those missing pieces you need or mini figs you want. Prices are on point with stores and sometimes cheaper than the Lego website.”

“Nick was extremely helpful and a great guy to chat with! Was a little apprehensive about going through SF because once you have a reputation online it's hard to shake it, but it seems they've been able to expand their facilities and customer service has greatly improved. My experience was very enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend them, especially if you can make the trip to the Showroom.”

“Friendly, adorable, and perfect! Carries stuff you won’t find anywhere else. If you enjoy stuffed animals and you’re unsatisfied with the usual big brand stuff, you need to come here.”

“Fun place to go and get candies from all over the world. They also have a penny rolling machine which needs 1 penny and 2 quarters. Some arcade machines in the back.”

“We got there around 2pm Saturday, it was very very crowded, with a movie event going on. Paid for parking. Lots to show the kids but couldn't really do much due to others using and looking at each thing there was at each station. Tickets sold out fast for the submarine. The kids were amazed by the animal and critter exhibits, a good amount of species to see. Grabbed a coffee from the cafe wasn't too bad, the photo booth did not work. Overall we felt rushed with not many choices to do while we waited for our turn to experience anything. As it got closer to closing time we did manage to experience more. We will be going again just maybe earlier in the day and maybe a week day.”

“I took my son here so he could get himself something he's wanted for a couple of years. Walking in some of the prices were not clearly marked and my son is a little upset and the girl behind the counter kind of just rolled her eyes at my son. We finally settled on something and the other person working was way nicer and not as pushy with sales and rushing us. I kid you not in the 20 minutes it took my son to pick something she asked us about 20 times if we were ready.”

“Great shop that reminds of the record stores I came up frequenting in the 90s. The hip hop section is especially robust but don't sleep on the rest of the offerings either. Tim is super kind and personable too. A++”
