“Super cute little spot downtown. As I was walking, I noticed there are actually two locations on opposite ends. The workers were super kind of seems engaged in their own conversation. It was still very welcoming spot tho. I love the organization and the content of the store. Very classy, but it ranges from affordable too expensive. Seems like a great spot to get a gift. They have candles and jewelry/accessories and coding. Lots of little Asheville trinkets Apparently checking on Yelp gets to 25% off earrings which is super cool”

“Back in December, my family and I visited Asheville for the Christmas season. We stopped by Spartina as my mother is a huge fan of their products and wanted to show and share with me. We ended up purchasing a crossbody as well as several other products. About a month and a half later, my crossbody’s front clasp broke off completely and as a sort of “shot in the dark” I called Asheville back to see if there was some way I could get it fixed. Patricia, the manager, went OUT OF HER WAY to help me. Not only did I see a new crossbody within a week, she made sure I was happy with the whole circumstance, going to great lengths to be loyal and kind to her customers. I’m not really much of a “posh brand” shopper, but Patricia and the crew at Spartina 449 in Asheville are incentive enough to go back again and again. Thank you guys!”

“I searched and searched for the Mystery Machine shoes by Irregular Choice and finally found them, however, the timing was not ideal. I was between paychecks and do not use credit cards so I had already spent my budgeted allowance for clothing/shoes. I called and spoke to Renee. She offered a solution so I was able to purchase them when I got paid again. I also prefer to support small business and highly recommend purchasing from them!”

“A wonderful surprise finding Excellent Seconds! Having moved from Miami in 2020, I was looking to consign some designer clothes and dresses I no longer needed for my new mountain life. I thought it may be difficult to find buyers at this charming boutique in our small town, but alas, the sheer number of visitors to pass thru the doors of Excellent Seconds made it worthwhile! Owner Heather has been in the business for years and it shows. She is professional and savvy, provides courteous, reliable and fair prices and payout to her clients and consigners. I’ve had some negative experiences at other WNC consignment shops, unfortunately. I am so glad I found Excellent Seconds! Thank you, Heather!”

“Charmed Asheville is a cute shop on Broadway. The store is larger than it appears from the door as when you keep going in you will find more and more items to buy. The clerk was very friendly and even offered to hold my items at the register while I continued to browse. I would suggest looking at your receipt before you leave as I was charged for an extra item but didn't discover it until I was home. But the store did issue me a refund for that so all is good.”

You can certainly tell the pay scale is based off commission, which hey, it’s a valid business strategy, and seems to be working for them! I just have to really make sure I’m in the right mindset when I go in or I get overwhelmed quickly.”
