“Came upon this shop while out in Asheville the other day and I'm so happy to have found it! Tons of amazing artists and their work. There's a great range of items too: stationary, prints, cards, stickers, clothing, washi tape, clothing, jewelry, etc. One of my new favorite stores in Asheville!”

“Stumbled in here on accident.. we found some of the coolest art we have ever seen. Unique, finely detailed, small pieces, large pieces, pieces with depth, meaning, and true craftsmanship. These pieces are specially curated. It takes a unique eye to find art like this. I feel blessed to have gotten to tour momentum gallery and can't wait to show my friends.”

“This great recycled 1926 building now houses impressive works of many artists. Some of the most unique creations I've seen by dozens of artists all under one roof. This is not your typical "crafts show." A person could spend hours in here just admiring, if not buying.”

“Such an amazing and inspiring experience. You cannot visit this open art studio and not leave without some piece of art in your hand. You also cannot visit here and not leave without the urge to create, inspire and find your own purpose within the art community. Loved walking through here!”

“Trish was absolutely incredible during our private lesson! We had a blast, we learned a ton, and we walked away with 6 handmade pieces we can use for years to come. EXCELLENT couples' activity.”

“Some of the things were closed as it was Sunday or closed early. What was open? We only walked in a couple but we've been there previously. It's a really really awesome area with local artists doing all the work”

They will make you pieces if you want to commission something you have always wanted in beautiful wood. Tables, benches, stools or sculpture— they have it.”

“This is one of my favorite places in Asheville to go for Art openings. Located in the Ramp UNCA building, where students do engineering and sculpture, the Ramp Studios are new, clean and filled with creativity. There is one large gallery space with other studios littered throughout the building. At the far end, there is a new French Broad Chocolate Lounge factory/cafe which is a great accompaniment to an Art show. Ramp Studios throws great art openings that usually have a great turnout of people, with good food and drinks. Some of my favorite shows I've seen here have been the sculptures of Shanna Glawson and Evan Kafka's photography. Ramp Studios also sometimes hosts artist talks. There is some parking behind Astral footwear and some people park across the street in the storage units parking lot. Check this place out! Awesome stuff!”

“We keep discovering new spots in Asheville. The latest treat is this downtown subterranean art gallery, where you can hang with the artists, and discuss the works, their process and personality. The gallery space is all together with the studios. Super happening.”

“We were delighted to discover this Japanese ceramic artist's studio and gallery in Asheville. There are a range of pieces from small to large, and all of them are simple in shape, utilitarian and astonishing in texture and color. The boldness of his designs distinguish his works from traditional Japanese potters and yet there is no mistake as to where his influences lie.”

“Caronda was a delight, knew her artists and their products. I got a lot of the glass: pen holder; friend light; hanging feeder; and a glow in the dark pumpkin for the holidays that was a last minute, impulse buy, but my favorite. Shipping was great, but my pumpkin's stem did not make it. The store is sending me a replacement with no hassle. This is a store I will return to every time I get to Ashemville to see what they have next!”

“Okay so this place was really neat. But I also had a kid in a stroller and not only is the place not wheelchair accessible but the vibe I got was they did not want kids there. I saw so many panicked faces when we were wheeling him around. He behaved himself fine but I sun felt very awkward having him.”

“Angelique and Shirley are fabulous artists. I had purchaced pottery from Angelique several years ago and thought of her when I needed a new piece. She did not disappoint. Shirley is a painter and had a print that I fell in love with. She offered to have it enlarged and shipped”

“This is such a fun shop to wander through! They have a very large selection of craft items by many different artists. We went in October and they had some fun Halloween themed items including lovely mobiles made from wood that had origami bats hanging off of them- bat mobiles- get it? That made me smile. They were also starting to bring out their Christmas crafts- it would be a great place to shop for Christmas decorations!”

“I'm madly in love with this place! I already have two of their knomes. The Resident artist or owner actually made one to order for me. I'm coming back for one for my third house. I'm convinced they provide calm karma to their space. Karen Knight”

“Couldn't recommend any stronger. Apart of course from having a very unique, artistic and distinct selection & style, Robert was extremely helpful, and professional assisting me as I bought two stunning pendant lights. I'm on the other side of the country so I shopped virtually through the Splurge Instagram page, which was very responsive. Something tells me this won't be my only purchase...now just wish I could see the store in person.”

“UNIQUE is the descriptor that I think best fits Daniel McClendon's art. He starts with a blank wooden "canvas", covers it in black or white, then randomly adds strokes of the opposite color. To see this happen is an experience that is close to unbelievable. Daniel then studies the result and magically uncovers an animal in those random brush strokes... From that point his creativity transforms the canvas, bringing out that animal in the most unique, colorful and unexpected ways. We were instantly fascinated with his work when we passed by his studio, which is itself just an amazing, inviting, comfortable, place to spend some time. Daniel himself is likewise an amazing, inviting, comfortable person... If you are anywhere near Asheville, and have any inkling that you enjoy impressionistic art, colorful abstract art, or just art... Stop by and meet Daniel, he's just a great guy. Ask him about his kids and you will see he's a great dad too. We have a lake house and wanted something that fit into the design of the place, so we waited, watching his creations as he posted them on his web site. Our first painting is an Eagle that happened to show up in several of his videos. We called and said that we would love to have this painting. He delivered it halfway to the lake as he took his kids to a park in Greenville... It now hangs over our fireplace. Our second painting was a Pheasant. We enjoy hunting Pheasant and this painting just resonated with us like the Eagle did. The Peasant is in our bedroom now. Recently we saw a Seagull with a fish below it. When we look out any window in our house we are likely to see a seagull diving for a fish dinner... We found a spot for the Seagull in our dining room, immediately called Daniel to hod it for us. He called when it as dry and we recently drove up to bring it back to its new home. We are huge fans of Daniel, not just because of his UNIQUE art, but also because of his personality. Stop by and see if you agree with me on both counts.”
