3716 Howard Ave, Kensington“Adorable cozy little cottage nestled up in-between a row of antique stores. This shop is a great go-to for vintage tea sets, saucers, glassware, textiles, pottery, and even artwork. They also have a room dedicated to books and another to fashion items. All purchases go towards charity! Kensington has a street dedicated to antique retailers, consignors and upcyclists which goes by "Kensington Antique Row." More information can be viewed at: kensingtonantiquerow.com.”
“It’s definitely a busy thrift store but I can see why. Really good selection and reasonable prices. It’s a bit out of my way but will definitely come back! Important note: there are no changing rooms at this thrift”
““The quality is Exceptional”. I was going to get some food near by and I discovered this store. The price is good and the quality of the clothe is exceptional. Fia has a fashion spirit. Thank you so much!”
“Always an absolute pleasure to see these women they work so hard about him the counter sorting decorating answering our questions I come just for the conversation”
“Paid a visit today. Pretty standard thrift shop. I was looking for more clothing selections but maybe it's just not their niche. Great options for furniture and home goods. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Will come again.”
“Mike the owner was very friendly, his prices were great and he is accommodating with his prices. It's a little small on space, and there is street meter parking. The store is on a side street so not many people know its there. If you enjoy a treasure hunt and have patience and love cheap prices its worth a visit.”
“GREAT prices compared to other large thrift stores in the area but the quality of the clothing has gone down a bit (e.g., stains, broken zipper, threadbare patches) compared to the previous store Georgia Thrift so inspect carefully. The racks also weren't organized by size when I was there, making it a little more time consuming to go through the clothing. Still lots of great stuff and hidden gems.”
“This is a lovely church in Georgetown and just a short walk from M Street. I have been here twice now, once for a funeral and recently for a much more happier occasion, a wedding. It is beautiful inside and well worth a look if you find yourself this way or want to have a wedding here, or a funeral.”
“Fantastic clothes selection. The men's clothes were great too. Some of the items had the original tags, never worn. The winter coat options seemed too good to be true. I got a great heavy coat for $17! I have recommended the place. The staff is nice too.”
“For the longest time, I have been wanting to visit Humane Thrift Together, but I didn’t get around to it until Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 after I dropped my mom off at the Metro so she could go on her business trip. From what I saw thus far, I have to say that I really love that you can get kitchen and bedroom appliances for less than $10 a piece and sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can get a bundle for a dollar, depending on what it is that you’re looking to but.As for clothes, while I can’t guarantee that you would always manage to find that perfect piece in time for an upcoming celebration or festival, all in all, compared to the prices that I’ve seen on apps like Depop and Etsy for similar clothing items, $10 for dresses of all types and $7 for jackets of all types in my opinion are very reasonable. I mean really, why the heck are gunnie sax dresses so expensive these days?So yeah, all in all, for one bundle of two sushi mats, one usable salad spinner, one authentic kaftan, and one bundle of three soft, vintage clothes hangers, I’d say that paying approximately $16.04 total was worth it.I especially like that Humane Together Thrift supports local animals so yeah, what’s not to love about this charity shop?Oh, and not to mention that the people at the register are very nice. Please everyone, give this shop a try! I promise to you all that it would be worth the visit.”
“Good selection of books. They're a little more expensive than I'm used to in other parts of the country.Cover Price up to $6.94 = $2.49 ea.Cover Price $6.95 to $9.94 = $2.99 ea.Cover Price $9.95 and up = $3.49 ea.That's the pricing scheme unless otherwise listed. Many prices are listed on the sticker. However, buy 4 books and get the 5th one free is a good deal.”
“St. Alban's Opportunity Shop is a true gem in the community. With its recent reopening, it continues its legacy of providing quality goods at affordable prices since 1955. The shop's commitment to supporting those in need is commendable, and I am proud to contribute to their cause. The weekly shopping hours are convenient, and the friendly staff always makes my visit enjoyable. Whether I'm looking for clothing, household items, or unique treasures, the Op Shop never disappoints. It's heartwarming to know that my purchases go towards helping the community. I highly recommend paying a visit to this wonderful thrift store.”
“Good variety of used goods. Coupons when you donate and discount days during the week. Everything is fairly organized for a very large thrift store. Hidden gems can be found once and a while.”
“Amazing little thrift boutique in Bethesda. This is a must-visit if you’re in town. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the items they sell are in great condition and the prices are amazing. A lovely shop and a wonderful shopping experience ”
“I like to shop here. But mostly because of Robin one of the gentleman that works here. He is always so kind to me. He can instantly tell when I’m not feeling like myself, and he brightens my day every single time. Thank you Robin for being so nice.”
“There’s a decent selection and the prices are pretty good. Most things are around $10, few are above $20. The customer service was phenomenal. I had $13.00 of $14.80 and the cashier waved the difference. He was super friendly about it, too. The person I was with was also short a few dollars and he waved the difference, again.”
“Long time downtown Silver Spring thrift store is open Saturday 9 to 1 and Sunday 12 to 2. Small, curated collection includes jewelry, bags, hats, games, selection of women's clothing, housewares, and framed art. Friendly volunteers and very reasonable prices.Located at Grace House basement at the far end of the (free) Grace Episcopal Church parking lot. Accessible via metro buses Y and Q lines.”
“When I first moved in around the corner, I told everyone I'd found my favorite store, because they somehow always had what I needed-- and 6 years later, FAVORITE STORE is a proper noun in our home. The variety and price points are unmatched, and there's a perfect balance of practical goods and novelty items. Great selection of plastic organization things and other home goods at cheaper-than-Amazon prices. And the owners are lovely and will go out of their way to help you find something to fit your need (i.e. when I was looking for plant ties (a stretch but you never know), I described them, and while they didn't stock them, they found balloon wire that they cut into several dozen individual pieces, free of charge. FAVORITE STORE!”
“They host annual bazaar at this place. The place is spacious and a lot of vendors come to sell and promote their merchandise here. It's big enough for all the vendors and customers, but only to the point that you still feel the community spirit. Fun place to be around!”
“Amazing thrift store. I can’t believe I’ve lived in the DMV for over 20 years and just discovered it. Many of the reviews say the staff there is rude, but that was not my experience. Then again I am not a POC. I’m a 60 year old Whyte woman . Some stuff is pricey e.g. I saw a Corningware dish with lid for $40, but altogether lots of items are cheap enough.”
“Small selection, but the best antique/consignment jewelry in D.C. I found my engagement ring here. INSANELY great deals, especially on diamond rings and higher-value pieces. The manager is so helpful and friendly!”
“My favorite thrift store! I drive from Germantown to come here even though there are many near me. Very clean and organized. Walter and staff are very kind and helpful. MUST VISIT.”
“This is a clean store. It's very organized and I find the employees patient and kind.1/25/23It was clean and Now donations are awful. I sat on a chair 2-weeks ago and it fell apart underneath me. I don’t blame Unique. It’s the donators. They give away junk and take a tax deduction. Ugh! It’s more Hillandale than Wheaton.”
“Great prices and great finds!! Kayla was especially helpful in the entire process. From processing questions, to assisting me on the sales floor, she was so incredibly kind! I will definitely be returning to this location!!! Thank you for an amazing first experience at the Uptown Cheapskate of Rockville! :)”
“Big sale right now. Open on some saturdays too. The staff are very friendly and stop to help you find what you are looking for. The building is very large but all items are VERY WELL organized on racks and shelves.”

4960 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg“Good quality clothing that's well organized by size and type, and good selection of housewares and linens. Prices are on the higher side, which seems to be the trend for several larger thrift stores. Also has some new items like socks, They have half-off sales around major holidays like Memorial Day and Labor Day, when you can score great finds at more reasonable thrift/used prices. Also got a carry on with spinner wheels for only $16 (Sept 2023), which was a great find.”
“Cleanliness: 4-5/5 Items: 4/5 Price: 4/5 The shop was clean and the workers wore a mask. There was also a screen between the customer and where you pay. The prices ranged from around 5$ to around $15 for clothes. They have more than clothes, but I was primarily looking for vintage clothes, extravagant clothing, and early 2000s bright crop tops for a photo shoot. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I was looking for, but they did have a wide variety of clothes from men suits to a wedding dress (only 1 I saw) to regular daily wear. The items were sorted by size and price rack, which made it easier to browse. It was an okay thrift store and clean, but it wasn't my cup of tea regarding what they had. Regardless, I recommend just checking it out since each thrift store is different and may appeal to different people.”

10AM - 6PM
619 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg“This is a busy location. Houseware section was low but I'm sure the inventory fluctuates. Good selections of clothes for men and women. Didn't go to the children's section.”
“Love that this place is volunteer run, and all proceeds go to ARC Montgomery (which serves individuals with disabilities and their families). I prefer to donate all my gently-used, no-longer-needed clothing here instead of to some of the big-name donations centers which are either run by religious organizations or are actually for-profit. This is a neighborhood thrift store, where you can know that your items/money are going to a local cause! I always take a half hour to browse when I come in to drop a donation off -- since the store isn't super big, it's hit or miss depending on your luck that day. I've gotten great workwear staples here (J.Crew pants for $8 anyone?!), and I've also walked away without finding anything. The items are mostly clothes (and are well organized by type, size, etc.), but there are some household items and knick-knacks at the front. Overall, Urban Thrift has become my go-to donation spot, and a good, curated spot to thrift.”
