“I always find a special piece or 5 .They are selective but curate a nice collection. They have a rack dedicated to fitness clothing which is mostly filled with Lulu. Denim selection is solid as well. The place is small but a gem.”

“LOTS of cool stuff in this shop, which contains items from several sellers. Great authentic MCM furniture and vintage clothing. The bookseller was loudly complaining (I mean Loudly) about an employee? Needless to say, I didn't buy any books! Heh.”

“The people who work here are super nice. They often have such great sales. I prefer stuff that's even older than what they typically sell, but it's worth it to come here for shoes.”

“This trendy boutique was the first stop of 4 boutiques in our bridal journey. Melissa, affectionately known as Missy, was our consultant. She was knowledgeable, friendly, comforting, honest, sincere, and completely perfect. The selection of dresses were limited, as they are donated, but we were able to find several bridal gowns that were strong contenders. It was our first store so we continued our tour to the remaining appointments with great enthusiasm. All the subsequent shops were adequate but they didn't have Missy or her infectious smile. At the end, we all compared the rest to Missy and her positive attitude and we returned and found the perfect wedding dress. I highly recommend Fairytale Brides on a Shoestring to any one in search of their dream dress. Bonus: we were wayyyy under budget! -Mother of the Bride”

“Lemon lane is wonderful! We visit frequently as the inventory always changes. Some great finds for my kiddos, especially shoes. The sale racks are especially good deals.”

“Not going to lie, the clothes are overpriced for the most part. I think the price on the sweater I got was fine, but most of their shirts were the same price. The sweater I found is super comfortable and gets my partner a lot of compliments!”

“The store is clean and well decorated. They offer a lot of Japanese hand made tableware. And many kimonos and clothing from Japan. The owner is friendly and helpful.”

“Loved this spot! The clothes were very high end which also meant they were very expensive, though reasonable for the brands. The staff was very friendly and happy to help. I love that they have an online store, I’ll definitely be using that to ship my purchases”

“They have AMAZING stock and Krista is so kind, warm, and helpful. She obviously knows a lot about different brands from different eras, and is really good at helping you identify pieces you might like.”

“We've been to this merchant a few times. I have a differentability (thank you to my little great niece for changing my perspective ?) and I some times require an aide for walking. My husband and I found some beautiful hand carved canes here and at very reasonable prices. We receive constant compliments going through the airport home and even more when I use them as a walking aide.Purchased hand made leather shoes from here and my son was elated with his gift ?.The staff is always very friendly and you can meet some very interesting people here as well. The store has two levels so don't miss going upstairs. There is definitely a lot to see ? so plan on spending some time to find your treasure. With all that said a little more organization would be nice so you can better see the selection and they have cats all over the place which I was not a fan of. However, my family and I visit here pretty much every time we're in the area and we look forward to viewing their new offerings.Check them out! Hopefully you'll find something interesting of your own in your visit.”

“Great selection and very nice owner/staff. My aunt and I had a great time shopping around and looking at all the unique, classic pieces. Highly recommend for evening wear, chic work attire and timeless coats and jackets.”

“Everything about this store is wonderful. From the selection of bags, to jewelry, to clothes, everything is spectacularly well curated. Whenever someone compliments me on my clothes, my response seems to always be “thanks, it’s from Clothes Encounters!”For my plus sized girlies, this shop also has a better range than other comparable places in town.”

“Had an awesome experience here! Mercedes was so helpful and absolutely lovely to chat with. I had pulled a skirt, didn't love the fit, and Mercedes suggested these beautiful silk pants. They were a little loose so Mercedes offered to walk me through how to take them in (I am new to sewing and mentioned this would be my first project) she took the time to explain and helped me pin them. It was very kind! Great shopping experience with gorgeous, unique vintage items at every turn. Will definitely come back.”

“Every time we go in, the folks there are friendly and smiling and ready to help you find what you're looking for. They have a very eclectic selection of antiques and oddities. We always enjoy just browsing and normally buy something every time we go. Admittedly, on some items, the prices seem a tad unreasonable, though those are set by the individual sellers, not by the owners of the Village, and sometimes the seller is willing to negotiate. If you're in the area, it is worth stopping by.”

“Julie has amazing taste, and curates the clothes she sells. I have always found something there which becomes a staple of my wardrobe...and some gems I didn't even know I needed!”

“Small selection, but the best antique/consignment jewelry in D.C. I found my engagement ring here. INSANELY great deals, especially on diamond rings and higher-value pieces. The manager is so helpful and friendly!”

“I was so impressed with the designers represented in this shop. Every item appears to be a designer name, including some lesser known but also very high-end designers. I searched through the dresses and saw a gorgeous navy blue satin Roberto Cavalli, a luxurious Missoni, also Giorgio Armani, MaxMara, Issey Miyaki, Sonia Rykiel and many more treasures. There is a large selection of coats, handbags, skirts, pants, blouses, shoes and jewelry as well. Prices are fair but they drop to 40% off after three months so you can find a few gems at unheard of prices in the collection. I will definitely be looking here for a statement item for my wardrobe!”

“Big sale right now. Open on some saturdays too. The staff are very friendly and stop to help you find what you are looking for. The building is very large but all items are VERY WELL organized on racks and shelves.”

“Cleanliness: 4-5/5 Items: 4/5 Price: 4/5 The shop was clean and the workers wore a mask. There was also a screen between the customer and where you pay. The prices ranged from around 5$ to around $15 for clothes. They have more than clothes, but I was primarily looking for vintage clothes, extravagant clothing, and early 2000s bright crop tops for a photo shoot. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I was looking for, but they did have a wide variety of clothes from men suits to a wedding dress (only 1 I saw) to regular daily wear. The items were sorted by size and price rack, which made it easier to browse. It was an okay thrift store and clean, but it wasn't my cup of tea regarding what they had. Regardless, I recommend just checking it out since each thrift store is different and may appeal to different people.”

“Totally amazed by the cleanliness & organization of this store it made shopping so much more peaceful! The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly the prices were very reasonable with great quality items. Can’t wait to shop here again soon! Telling all my girlfriends!”

“Great prices and great finds!! Kayla was especially helpful in the entire process. From processing questions, to assisting me on the sales floor, she was so incredibly kind! I will definitely be returning to this location!!! Thank you for an amazing first experience at the Uptown Cheapskate of Rockville! :)”

“Good quality clothing that's well organized by size and type, and good selection of housewares and linens. Prices are on the higher side, which seems to be the trend for several larger thrift stores. Also has some new items like socks, They have half-off sales around major holidays like Memorial Day and Labor Day, when you can score great finds at more reasonable thrift/used prices. Also got a carry on with spinner wheels for only $16 (Sept 2023), which was a great find.”

“I had to laugh at some of these 1 & 2 * reviews and now understand why the standards have changed. It has shifted to appease those who do not understand there is a difference between designer and brand. I am of a darker hue and older. I have been a thrifter and a consignment shopper for almost 50 years and Reddz is one of my go tos. For your FYI consignment is for high end pieces. I myself do not consignment shop to see other's low standard clothing that I would not pay for new. The staff is always accommodating, and you could be getting back what you are giving, if you want conversation find your friends. Please stop bringing your subpar clothing that you or no one wants, I am tired of looking at it and wondering why it is there taking up space and wasting my time sifting though items that ahould be at The Goodwill.”

“This is a busy location. Houseware section was low but I'm sure the inventory fluctuates. Good selections of clothes for men and women. Didn't go to the children's section.”

“They have an entire floor downstairs dedicated to upscale furniture and housewares. Designer clothing upstairs and reasonable price. Just don't expect thrift store prices.”

“I’ve purchased a few items here (a dress and blouse). Nice selection of second hand items for work, casual events, or even the gym.I’ve also sold here, there process is a little slow, but if you decide to sell make sure you take pics of all the forms you fill out so you can keep track of the items yourself. You can have them send you a check or use the money for I store purchased.”

“Honestly I had a great experience here but I also have a lower bar for consignment stores since I don’t typically sell to them that often. I came here just as a shopper and walked away with many quality items (a couple were even new with tags) for under $300 with pieces from brands like Sandro, Maje, and Reiss. That said you definitely have to do some digging and devote time to finding items but you can still get a good deal.”
