“I used Bench Gym for a couple weeks while visiting for business. The staff responded quickly and communicated effectively. The gym is not large, but has everything you would need. It's located in the lobby of a commercial building, but once you figure that out, it's not difficult to locate. There was never more than two other clients when I was there, so even though it was small it never felt cramped. The workout itself was effective and efficient. They prioritized my safety (prior injury to consider) along with my workout program, which was very appreciated.”

“Have really loved MVMT so far!! One of the biggest things is that every instructor greets me by name. I had gone to a gym for 6 months and had to introduce myself almost every class; it’s not like that at MVMT. Plus, the 45 mins are packed with sweaty, fun, challenging movements that keep me feeling good all day. Overall a great gym with inclusive vibes. Highly recommend, especially if new to the area.”

“I had never tried barre before coming to openBarre Studios. So, I was excited to find that the instructors and classmates were welcoming and kind. The environment is great for both newbies and the sculpted barre professional. They have a variety of class times to accommodate most schedules, from as early as 6 am to as late as 8 pm. The classes are challenging, but the instructors provide modifications for different strength levels. I have been attending classes at least twice a week for the last 6 weeks and definitely feel stronger. I recommend this studio.”

“I've been to several F45s throughout the country and this is by far the best one I've been to! The staff greeted me right away, made me feel welcomed, and showed me the lay out of the gym. There workouts are intense and you will definitely work up a sweat. My favorite days are Saturday's because the workouts are 60 minutes and I'm absolutely exhausted afterwards. The location has plenty of street parking and it is in a great area of DC.”

“When I came to Foundation Fitness it was the first time I had ever walked into a gym. The twice weekly sessions have been terrific. Ester is so very good at what she does. She is very focused on form and provides excellent feedback to be sure I am doing the exercises correctly and getting the most out of them. Ester is encouraging and positive and just a pleasant person to be around. There are never more than a few people training at any given time and everyone is very friendly. CJ (owner) is very responsive if you ever need anything. I am so grateful to have found this gym and to have been connected with Ester.”

“I am totally new to working out and I’m so glad i decided to become a member after my free intro class. I joined during the Black Friday sale - reduced price for unlimited membership and a free heart rate monitor (usually about $100-$120). You can rent a HRM for $15 each class but its not required to wear one. The benefit is tracking your stats in the OrangeTheory app and seeing progress over time.This location has 3 showers, sweat towels available, and even a vanity mirror with hair dryers in case you need to go somewhere after class. They also often have spray deodorant & dry shampoo available! There are lockers and cubbies to store your bag during class. The layout of this studio is much better than another location I went to. It’s just a big square room which makes it easy to quickly transition between treadmill, rower and weight floor without bumping into anyone else. They have more than enough screens around the room to watch the weight exercise video and check your heart rate. The other location is tried was L-shaped with the weight floor in an awkward corner so it was annoying to turn the corner and there wasnt nearly as much room to spread out or set up a weight bench.I cannot overstate the quality of the staff at this location. Front-desk agents go above and beyond every day to greet members with a smile and even remember everyone’s names! They provide some special events occasionally such as mobility workshops with guest experts and happy hours near the studio. The coaches are phenomenal, playing fun music during class, cueing all the stations in a timely manner and providing efficient but clear instructions and demonstrations for weight floor. If you have an injury or any orthopedic issues, they will make sure to show you any needed alternatives. They will also kindly correct your form if needed and encourage you to lift heavier if they can tell you’re capable! Coaches also make themselves available by email or set up online or in person consultation to talk about any questions like proper form to nutrition.If you havent tried OrangeTheory, I highly recommend calling to schedule your first free class. They will check you in early to make sure you’ll be in stations near the coach and go into the workout room before class starts so that you’ll feel comfortable using the treadmill and rower. If you already like OrangeTheory, I’ve heard multiple people say that this is their preferred location in DC-proper.”

“Soldierfit will get you working. It's pretty chill in terms of the environment and it has tough equipment. There are really awesome trainers that will give you workouts so hard, it'll make you tired out. Soldierfit lives up to its name and the people who participate in the bootcamps are really dedicated and motivational. If you can handle the pricing, I recommend you join this gym.”

“This was my first time at this F45 location, second time attending a Mont Blanc Monday workout. However, I really liked this studio much more than the first one I visited. I liked that there was alot of natural light coming in from the window. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the owner Scott who cracked lots of jokes about my 64oz water bottle (it's a huge bottle!) I was acquainted with the studio by Scott and he gave me the run down of membership at the end. Him and the instructor Jay were super great at motivating and modifying workouts and posture throughout the session. There seemed to be a great community here -- everyone was so nice! The place was also really clean and well maintained. Bring your own water bottle 64oz or not -- they have a water station. They also provide microfiber towels and disinfectant spray so you can clean as you go. Additionally parking is free in Alexandria on the weekdays except 4-7pm and F45 has their own dedicated parking space. I was on the fence about F45 but I think after this visit I'm going to join in their 45 day challenge starting 2/5/24! It's a sweaty, fun time here that really makes you feel in shape!”
