“I used Bench Gym for a couple weeks while visiting for business. The staff responded quickly and communicated effectively. The gym is not large, but has everything you would need. It's located in the lobby of a commercial building, but once you figure that out, it's not difficult to locate. There was never more than two other clients when I was there, so even though it was small it never felt cramped. The workout itself was effective and efficient. They prioritized my safety (prior injury to consider) along with my workout program, which was very appreciated.”

“At Foundation Fitness Gym I’ve been doing a combination of physical therapy and personal training with Maroun Yazbeck and Michaela Krsikova. I’ve found their instruction to be wise, comprehensive and life changing.Their plan for me is designed to address both strengths and weakness, and they make innovative changes in the moment. At the age of 81 after years of daily running, as well as pilates classes, I need these workouts to stay in shape mentally and physically.Foundation Fitness is a small gym which offers personal instruction to clients. Having tried many different classes and physical therapy sessions, I highly recommend this experience.”

“I love F45, their model of station to station with timed sets is perfect for me. I am someone who struggles when at the gym to continue working and avoid distraction. With F45 you are surrounded by supportive coaches who encourage you, correct form issues, and educate you about proper cooldown and workout balance. I am committed and I am preaching the same to my friends”

“I've been to several F45s throughout the country and this is by far the best one I've been to! The staff greeted me right away, made me feel welcomed, and showed me the lay out of the gym. There workouts are intense and you will definitely work up a sweat. My favorite days are Saturday's because the workouts are 60 minutes and I'm absolutely exhausted afterwards. The location has plenty of street parking and it is in a great area of DC.”

“I just joined the Urban Athletics Club and I am very happy I did! I’d give it 6 stars if I could!It’s a gem among gyms in DC, especially for those looking for encouragement, camaraderie, focus on health improvement, and teamwork.TBH, I was initially reticent to join since I’ve only worked out with home workouts, regular gyms, or apartment building gyms.I was reticent because I thought UAC was only a “CrossFit type” gym and thought it could be overly intense and cliquish.I was utterly and happily wrong.I say this because I’m not doing CrossFit, at least right now, but rather I’m following my own workout program to get into a modicum of shape. CrossFit maybe later. Lol.To that end, UAC has an excellent “Open Gym” option, which is very reasonably priced.With “Open Gym,” I can go there from dawn to late night to workout, subject to minimal periods when CrossFit classes are held - and even then - the chill vibe and friendly team there usually will let you do your own workout at the same time. It’s motivating to see the focus on fitness in everyone there.The owner, Graham, goes out of his way to make people, esp newcomers, feel welcome. He is very passionate about health improvement and fitness.The folks at UAC are very friendly and encouraging. We even had a holiday party at the gym this past weekend, where I thoroughly enjoyed talking to many of the other folks - without being out breath with ear buds in. Lol.I learned that the folks here have very interesting backgrounds outside the gym. This additional benefit is really important bc you’d hope to maybe meet new friends in DC, and this is a great place to do it, esp if you’re new to the DC area.I hope you consider UAC. I’m glad I got over my initial reticence bc it opened me up to a whole new community of great people.”

I have the unlimited class membership and would highly recommend it. All of the trainers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to help with any questions or concerns. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and stocked with top-notch equipment. “I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but I feel compelled to for this place. Orange Theory Cleveland Park has totally changed my life for the better. Every single person there has been nothing but kind, supportive, and motivating. Special shout out to Lem, Coach Kelly (AMAZING playlists!), Sarah, and Dom who are constantly crushing it. All the coaches are amazing—Head Coach Elizabeth I would follow into battle, she’s an outstanding coach. The workout is great, the community is even better. The physical and mental benefits are out of this world — I’ve never had such a consistent routine that I’ve looked forward to like this. HIGHLY recommended!”

“Bodymass is great! Virginia, Kris, and the other trainers in the small-group workouts provide specific, changing, and challenging workout programs tailored to your goals. They provide detailed instructions in each workout if you're unfamiliar with major exercises. Everyone's super friendly, including their gym-going dogs Flex and Franco. Been going for a few months now and have definitely noticed the impact. Would highly recommend.”

“This studio is fantastic. Going there is one of the best parts of my day.I used to resist going to Orange Theory. My wife and a bunch of friends have been going for a long time, and I would joke about it being a cult with its own exercise philosophy, weird features, and even its own vocabulary. But then I got injured running, couldn’t run outside, and was ready to try a gym. I discovered there’s a reason for everything they do, and I am a total convert. It’s great.What makes this studio so good is the people. Hannah and the rest of the front desk staff are fantastic, and somehow this gym manages to always hire the best staff and coaches. I know mostly the coaches who coach weekday morning classes, Genna, Aitana, Julie, and Jo, and they are all amazing, with a mix of fun and encouragement.”

“Short Story: Aaron and Dave have a great thing going! They're wonderful people to be coached by no matter the skill level and will introduce you to a loving, inclusive, and accepting community! Long Story: Their success story of overcoming the adversity brought by COVID is inspiring. From having a gym to losing it--to their continued growth and success by repurposing a roof and the local park-- and to eventually securing a new gym space in Silver Spring--DBC is a true attestment to the power of what dedication, love for the sport, and community involvement can create. I started DBC on that awesome rooftop 8 months ago with no prior experience. It's amazing to witness the care and intricacy with which Aaron and Dave coach and teach. The coaching is very personal, and every session has a unique and specific purpose to the individual. Personally, I wanted to avoid the \"workout class\" environment (i.e. rumble) and find a gym that I could learn the art of the sport. Within a month, Aaron and Dave introduced me to sparring--and I'll have to say, it's probably one of the most fulfilling and hardest cardio workouts I've done. Aaron and Dave hold safety as paramount, and I've always felt they've had my best interests at heart while effectively pushing me to make me grow as a boxer. Anyways, enough words. I'll see you all at the gym and you all can see for yourselves!!”

“GetStrong Fitness will definitely get you strong as the name states. Ty is a very knowledgeable and detail oriented trainer. He gives in-depth explanations of each exercise, muscled that will be worked, and a quick demo to ensure that your doing the exercises correctly. With Ty and I both being former athletes, he knows how to provide you with that “Coachspeak” some of us need to get you that extra push to maximize your work out. Since I started with Ty 3.5 months ago, I weighed 280lbs (6’6”) with a one rep bench press max of 135 pounds. Just this past Monday, my weight is down 13 pounds with a new one rep bench press max of 185. My overall strength has improved tremendously and I have never been more motivated to work out in my life. If you want the results, you are going to have to put in the work. I highly recommend Ty to aid you in pursuit of all your fitness goals. If your looking to bulk, shred or just be active in general, Ty has a program that fits your needs.”
