“I grew up in Wilmette and naturally chose to go to Yellow Bird for my wedding invitations. Laura made the process seamless with her input, and it was so much more fun to pick out elements in person versus online. Prices were very comparable to everywhere else. Can’t say enough good things!”

“I’ve started Christmas shopping here since 2020 when I decided I wanted to support a small business. Everyone loves the gifts and many support important causes in Chicago as well. “Stumble & Relish is an absolute gem of a shop. My go-to every single time I need a special gift. They always have just the right thing. And, of course, I also always manage to find something that just needs to come home with me. Jaime, the owner, is amazing, as is everyone on staff. Beyond the shop, they do so much for Evanston. We are super grateful to have them here and love being able to support such a great shop - and owner.”

“Best shop to find local artisan products. I bought two of the loveliest earrings from this store. The owner is very knowledgeable about each of the artisans. She explains the person behind their work. If you are keen to support local talents. This place is definitely a must visit in Chicago.”

“Today, I called needing to cancel my order and Anita answered the phone, she was an angel on the other line...patient, compassionate and beyond amazing. This will be the only edible I use in the 60630 zipcode. Anita is the reason there are good humans in the world.. she treated me like family and her kind words made my day as I attempt to be supportive for my person! I have also had an arrangement delivered before and it was wonderful.”

“Super cool stuff! Great for gifts and unique home finds. The young lady working there is super knowledgable, helpful, and patient. The buyer/owner needs to be commended for some great, unique finds. A bit pricey, but considering the high rent district, I get it.”

“I love this sweet little shop! There are so many cute things to buy for gifts or for yourself. The prices are reasonable, even for the vintage items. Plus who doesn’t love to support a local business!”

“I was kind of going between 4 and 5 stars, but thought to bump it up to a 5 because its a small business and exactly the kind of store you want in your community. The basic premise is that its a store that showcases Chicago based items and Chicago based companies. I really like it because its a great place to buy a unique gift for somebody. I would say most of the items lean towards "home goods", but if you ever need something for a housewarming party or need that last minute birthday gift, this place has you covered. If there is any "downside" is that their items tend to be a little bit on the expensive side. That really shouldn't be surprising as it is a small business supporting other small businesses. I also wish they had wider hours, but the foot traffic might not call for it. If you are looking for a cool Chicago gift for yourself or somebody else, I would highly recommend checking this place out! They are very nice and have some really good finds!”

Every time I stop in they have new products that are always so cute and clever. I have purchased candles, jewelry, hair clips and headbands, vases and glassware, unique cards and so many more products. You don’t want to miss this awesome little shop when visiting Logan Square!”

“This is a great place to go with the whole family! Fabulous attention to accessibility and education throughout this huge garden. My husband and I stopped off here on our way out of Chicago to up north and it proved to be an excellent place to stretch our legs and take in refreshing air! There's a beautiful model train area that features all of these model trains and "road side attractions" of the United States which was so much fun to look at. There weee art exhibits throughout the gardens and benches and even a library you could go and look up information. We could have spent days here! With your admission, you get a trolly ride around most of the garden -- you get to see islands and meadows and research labs and you can get off at certain points and walk back if you'd like or simply ride the trolley and enjoy the day. My husband and I had my Service Dog in Training (SDiT) with me and the trolley people were exceptionally professional and polite. If we lived closer, this would absolutely be someplace I'd have a membership to. Very professional, beautiful, exceptional place I could see bringing lunch or work or meditating in a little corner!”

“I discovered this gem when I moved to Chicago in 2006. I got my first artificial Christmas tree here and could only afford that and a few ornaments at the time. It still remains my favorite store for holiday decor and one-of-a-kind gifts to this day. I shop here every year for holiday decor because I can’t get ornaments or decorations like this anywhere else. The service is stellar. Staff have totally put up with me calling to order products even now that I’ve moved to Colorado. Thank you so much for making my collection, so big and special.”

“Super quaint shop that's got an extensive collection of religious/philosophical texts, Buddhist symbols, and Tibetan clothing/art. The prices are a little on the higher end (I spent $60 on my first visit for a book, two mala bracelets, and a print), but I didn't mind because it was supporting a local business. The shop owner escaped Tibet at age 7 and immigrated to the US after living for years in India. They've got a great knowledge of local Buddhist community gatherings/groups, as well as information about how you should plan your trip if you ever travel to Tibet. A must-visit in the NorthShore area for any of the sangha -- beginners or long-term practitioners-- as well as folks interested in learning about other cultures.”

“I stumbled upon this place by accident but the crisp white and black colors from inside drew me in. It is bright, spacious and very well organized and clean. The customer service is BEYOND spectacular. I arrived just shortly after they opened and was walking around, the gentleman was kind and had a plethora of knowledge on the toffee and Gelato products. He gave me the history of the business and even about the toffee and co-business with the Gelato. His honest and product knowledge was superior. He demonstrated he knows his clients and product. The Gelato was out of this world, tasted like the Gelato in Italy because it really was produced by the Italians and the same way. We love toffee and they had numerous variations of flavors and chocolate collaborations. The coffee was spit on too. The quality of every product is truly superior like their customer service and very generous portions. Pricing is spot on for what you get. This place is worth the 30cminite drive from Glenview. Nothing compares to their flavors of Gelato and toffee selection. Lots of sitting room to socialize, read or work on your computer.”
