“I love this little boutique store filled with local art in all types of mediums. Great gift ideas and some fantastic Chicago specific decor finds. Great store in my favorite neighborhood in the city.”
10AM - 6PM
2780 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago“Great place to find unique collectible figures. Their online shop is awesome as well. A little overpriced, but I'd still shop here again though, because it's the only place that sells "Pucky Babies"?”
“It's a cool space and concept with lots of small artists and makers under one permanent roof. It's kind of like a street fair, but always open. That said, like a street fair, most of the merchandise is a bit kitschy or generic. You're definitely not going to find much in the way of trendy or upscale pieces here. If you like art with sassy quotes or bold beaded jewelry, there's lots to find.”
“This place is a testament to the power of the leather community. It’s not just whips and jackets it’s community care and love that holds this crew together. As you go through the archives you will see intimate histories of the people who built homes for themselves and others. There are binders of patches and stickers from across the country. Amazing art that celebrates the community as well as Tons of informative work. This place also contains a very good library of lgbtq texts that is a must for anyone interested in lgbtq history or literature. They have fiction, non fiction, pulp, photography works you name it they got it!”
“Nice theater, small and well managed. Went to watch young Frankenstein with our 15 year old which was a mistake. The musical should be 18-+ because of some content. If our daughter didn't tag along my husband and I would have enjoyed watching it to the end . We left in the interval because we didn't want our daughter feeling uncomfortable. So many wasted $$$”
“Robert repaired our old stain glass window and our old stained glass curved lamp shade. He worked very closely with us to find the best possible replacement glass pieces. Both pieces came out super and they are proudly displayed in our home. We highly recommend Harmony Art Glass, you will not be disappointed.”
“Beautiful store with so many talented artists on display. Guaranteed to have something you will like. If you are in the area, i would highly recommend you stop by and check it out.”
“I needed to pick up a framed poster for my client and they went above and beyond to wrap it, provide hooks and screws, and help me get it to my car. Everyone was friendly and professional. Plus, they have a cute parrot!”
“I am more than pleased with the framing of some artwork I had done at the Artful Framers Studios. I ended up working with Hope, the owner, and she was very friendly and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. She gave me great options that still kept me within my budget. It was very evident that she knew her stuff and that framing was a passion for her.”
8AM - 3PM
838 Custer Ave, Evanston“Steven is the consummate professional with a great depth of knowledge about how to restore, preserve, and showcase precious and semi-precious artwork. He has treated 8-10 of our cherished paintings and prints during the past six years since we moved back to Evanston. Each now greatly beautifies our home.”
“Great collection of art work. They also host showings and it's awesome to meet the artists and learn more about their works.Even has a used record store in the back area!”
“Ordered a print through email from an artist I follow. It was a very small run of 10, and I bought two: one for myself + one for a family member. Very responsive + good service. Would order from again.”
“My husband and I greatly enjoy Cynthia’s highly developed artistic eye as she curates who and what she shows at Vivid Gallery. That expertise makes it very hard to resist adding to our own art collection fromthe new, emerging artists she shows, as well as the established yet still frontier pushing artists she exhibits. Vivid Gallery is simply a jewel in the North Shore. Thank you Cynthia!”
“EXTREMELY talented group of artists. Have had 2 private commissions with Mr. Christensen and he went above and beyond. He listened to the smallest of details and absolutely knocked each item out of the park. To say I'm thrilled does not do justice to just how great these pieces are. High quality, fairly priced, and coming from a great group of people. Would absolutely recommend Gallery Five. Thanks again!”
“Just started a class here — what a great space! My class has been great so far, I’m an absolute beginner but I’m loving learning. Instructor is great, friendly and approachable, and it’s fun to explore a new medium!”
“I cannot say enough good things about Cheryl and George in the Northbrook store and the corporate office of The Great Frame Up. I recently ordered a beautiful and unique frame there for a very large painting that was just so perfect for it. However, it then turned out the manufacturer of that frame had recently closed, and the frame was no longer available. The Great Frame Up corporate office, along with George and Cheryl, went to great lengths to reach out to all The Great Frame Ups nationally, make many calls, and track it down for me in Seattle and have it shipped to their store. They were caring, responsive, and just really kind about everything. The frame is on the way and then they will be able to custom frame the painting, have it delivered, and installed in my home. Thanks to their efforts I will be able to have exactly what I was hoping for!”
“Did an online auction with Ian. He was very responsive & patient with me. Especially since this was the first auction I did with him. I'm very happy as a bidder. It was also pretty cool to see an old MJ bball card go for 25k on the webcast!”
“I have been twice now, this is both an eye-catching space which externally looks more "square" but internally is filled with a lot of angles and perspectives which change as you explore the space. The galleries are intimate and allow you to view the collections closely with a small timed-entry crowd, and the staff working the galleries actually know quite a bit about all the art, you can ask them anything and they seem to know it. There isn't too much parking since it's on a city street but I've been able to find spaces on the nearby major street paid parking and walk there. They have only had amazing exhibitions so I plan to see them all going forward!”
“I cannot say enough good things. I got two very special pieces of art framed and they came out exquisite! They were delivered and hung perfectly! Michael was so nice and professional. I would definitely only use Signature of Art for all of framing needs from now on. They also have beautiful art for sale there.”
“My mother in law bought us a private pottery lesson! We had a great long two hour session, with an aaaaaamazing instructor, Carrie. 10/10 would recommend going and signing up for ANYTHING she teaches! This place rocked my socks off I had so much fun I'm prolly gonna sign up for regular classes starting in April I think she mentioned!! Go! Call! Reserve a spot! You won't be disappointed!”
11AM - 5PM
1031 Waukegan Rd, Glenview“I took two short classes here and really enjoyed both. The classrooms were spacious, with nice light, so a bit chilly, since it is in a charming old building. My teachers were both very nice and willing to help and answer questions. My fellow classmates were equally friendly, and I would return if I lived a bit closer, maybe when it warms up because I am very interested in future classes.”
“Surprised to read negative reviews. This place is great! I have loads of plants from there (and other stores bc I have LOADS of plants in my house). None have ever been sick or infested. The store is adorable. They are far and above the most helpful staff. They will even repot a plant that isn’t even from their store (small fee) and offer advice. I brought in a sad peperomia which is now thriving thanks to Cultivate staff. They have a great selection of plants and pots. I like keeping mine in the containers, so I don’t mind no holes (and saucers take up space when your windows are already crowded). They’ll even drill a hole if you want it (small fee). It’s a business in Evanston- I think the prices are fair. If you want cheap plants and no service, try a HD.PS- they also have local artisan jewelry and a nice rewards program. I drive 35 mins to go specifically to this store.”
“This was my second occasion using Princeton Frame for less than conventional projects. The first was to construct a "frame" for a hand-made stained glass entry hall hall light, the second for a rear-illuminated stained glass art piece. The staff spent time exploring my framing options, but also offered suggestions for backlighting the piece which they didn't do. The framing was completed before the scheduled day as well.”
10:30AM - 5PM
984 E Willow Rd, Northbrook“I love petty much everything Chris and Michael fill their wonderful gallery with and their advice and patience in helping me decorate my new home went above and beyond. A marvelous place run by marvelous people.”
“I had this shop reframe a piece of artwork and the project had some complexities. They did an excellent job. They were very good to work with finished the job within their stated timeframe. As a 38 year NorthShore resident, I highly recommend this shop for framing.”
