“Robert and the team at Fruitvale Collision are so delightful to work with. I called based on previous reviews and I was not disappointed. He asked me to text photos of the work I needed done before I drove or towed my car to his shop. He responded quickly, gave me a quote before coming in and my luck of the draw was able to fix my car that same day I called! He did not try to add on any additional things I did not need or ask for and the price was beyond fair. Sadly for my pocket book I have another car I will be bringing to him and I would highly recommend him for any of your collision repair needs. My car broke down outside their shop, and not only did they push it down the block, into their garage, and diagnose it (engine failure) they were SO kind and accommodating while I tried to get it sold and/or towed. They were incredibly patient with me while I worked out what to do and even helped me get everything done to get the car signed over to the new buyer even though they knew they were only collecting the diagnostic fee from me. I'm beyond impressed and will definitely return!”

A few other mechanics told me I had to order a new bumper but these guys dealt with the issue perfectly and they even patched up some dings with their paint without me asking for it. They straightened part of the bumper that was bent as well. They repaired my work vehicle Honda Fit so well that it’s going to be ready for more years to come although it’s old!Their repair looks great and firm, and I’m perfectly happy with their response time to reasonable fee for such great job.When I have another issue I’ll definitely go back. Plus I love supporting small local business in Oakland. It is clear that they value their customers’ opinions, which is something that I respect. Their work is good and they seem to care about their reputation. So up to 4 stars.Leaving original review below for context.************Came for minor body work, replacement of one running board panel and PPF of panel. Estimate was $973.1 week later, price at pickup was almost $1400 (43% increase). Reasons given: original estimate was from someone who said he “was new to this space and that the PPF was the bulk of the increase”. PPF was estimated at $200.Manager said no, he’s not new, and estimates are just estimates and the reason is that prices of parts and labor have changed. Offered $100 off.I argued that a 43% increase is absurd and beyond reasonable overage for an estimate. Negotiated to $1100.One thing that *might* be a factor is wife was originally the one dealing with them.2 stars because they cleaned the car and have mints on the counter.”
