“I like the guy behind the counter he was always nice to my daughter when we'd go together. Always a nice greeting. This place has lots of beer and wine, some food groceries and ice cream.”
“They got what you need at good prices. They’ve been in the same spot my whole life and the people inside never fail to make the community better. With how gentrified Oakland is getting it’s so reliving to have down to earth people who run an incredible market.”
“I went to the store yesterday from San Francisco. Owner is very humble kind generous welcoming! Great store nice presentation best selections! Will revisit! Thanks!!!”
“This pharmacy is the most helpful and competent in the area. I was sick and needing antibiotics, and had to switch to this place after experiencing the worst customer service at the Temescal Walgreens. First, I called in to check whether I would be able to reach a human, and not only did they answer within a few rings, the pharmacist was kind, helpful in letting me know how to order from their app, and the status of my prescription, and THEN when I went to pick up my prescription, the same gentleman remembered me from my call, and kindly informed me he had automatically added a coupon since I was paying out of pocket. I was treated with dignity during a time when I was feeling my absolute worst, and honestly it made me want to cry with gratitude. I am very grateful to this pharmacy and its technicians. You all deserve raises ? Customer for life. Also, to the people complaining that this place is ‘ghetto’ etc, it is not the store/employees’ fault that the area has challenges with theft. That is the entire bay area right now, and you should know better. Let’s support the businesses that are actually serving their customers despite these circumstances.”
“There is usually a guy out front asking for change. No biggie, that's everywhere. Could be 5/5 if the checkout lanes were faster. I have to lock up and leave my bicycle outside and I do become nervous if I'm taking awhile to checkout. The day my bike gets stolen is the day I'll change my rating probably lol And you gotta get the app unfortunately if you want to pay other bills”

My check out person Esmeralda was particularly amazing. I shared some frustrations I had with the prices of school supplies and she showed me how to use the target app to make better selections. So thankful I stopped by today and I will definitely be back.”

Most of the staff are helpful, some checkers are friendlier than others but that's not important. The bakery, produce & meat departments are pretty good and they've managed to keep most non-perishables on the shelves during this shelter in place. I like their own brand of breads & bakery items. The only hassles I've had have been from some racist customers (I'm an older white woman). One woman, behind me in line, was busy on the phone and her 3 year old son in his stroller wanted some attention - so he scooted up right up to me and proceeded to kick my calves hard. When I complained, she failed to noticed his actions (of course), but berated me for complaining about her beautiful child! But I digress, other than a few similar run-ins over a dozen+ years are part of life. This is a great place to shop!”
“This is the best place to buy freshly cut flowers....they last a very long long time and inexpensive compared to Safeway (no bueno) or Whole Foods (about $5 more and usually all open). I love lilies and they last over 10 days to 2 weeks! Enjoy!”
