“The store is well stocked, but pretty expensive for most items. I go here only for the items that I can't get at TJs or Grocery Outlet. That includes some specialty beer and good produce. Parking is never an issue, and self-checkout makes it fast if there are lines at the checkout.”
9AM - 8:30PM
1420 Encinal Ave, Alameda“Great market if you want to get everyday stuff. Small store but packed with everything you need from laundry to food to small toys. The cashier was great and friendly. Not too busy either.”
8AM - 6:30PM
1200 Lincoln Ave, Alameda“I just happened to stop by because I needed to snatch my son something quick for lunch. I was blown away by the customer service. And the food options are A+. Couldn't have asked for a better experience in a shop.”
“Every time I come here, I find myself buying more than I expect to buy. Most of their prices is less than what you would find at your local grocery stores. Some of their stuff have odd flavors I never knew existed. If you look around, you can find some things that are ridiculous cheap. Make sure you check the dates on everything you buy because a lot of their stuff have short expiration dates. Great place to buy if you're not brand specific or looking for a specific item. Some really good finds I found today we're on the 16oz Red vines black licorice 2 for $0.97, 8oz Takis waves intense nacho chips $0.97, 10 pack yan yan cracker sticks with chocolate dip $2.99 and some 14.4oz honey graham crackers 5 for $0.97. That's not a typo. It really did ring up 5 for $0.97 at checkout. Store is always very organized and clean. Staff is friendly and nice. If your buying a lot, ask someone who is stocking the shelves if you can take a box or 2 to put your stuff in instead of buying bags. The boxes are clean since it's just food that have been in the boxes. If there's 1 thing I think they could do better, they need to be quicker at opening more checkout lanes. I was here late morning on Saturday and there were 2 cashiers and 2 very long lines. I was getting ready to abandon my cart until they opened another lane. Luckily everyone ahead of me moved over to the new lane so the wait to pay for my stuff was much shorter.”
“This little market with compact aisles has a lot. Great local food shop with some limited non food items. Staff at times hard to find, but kind and quick to help. Suprised at how much they had available and such good quality.”
“So good and so friendly! Sailed into Ballena Bay and wandered over to the Harbor Mart and so glad I did! Lany was welcoming, friendly and a great cook! Bought a chicken banh mi and spring rolls for our sail back and they were fantastic! A great little store loved by everyone I met in the harbor. Worth stop if visiting Alameda!!”
“CHECK EXPIRATION DATES BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! I was excited to try some new items I found on the shelf, but when I got home I found that 3 products from entirely different sections of the store were expired more than a week before my visit... Still giving 4 stars because they handled my returns very nicely and overall the store is clean.”
“I love this store! Being a part of the Natural health Industry for over 30 years, I have seen a lot of Retail Stores for Natural Health. Alameda is one of the TOPS! And their employee, ROSA, is amazing! Her service and commitment to everyone feeling better and getting the remedies they need to do that ... is nothing short of AWESOMENESS!!! Thank you for such integrity in the Natural Health Industry.”
“It's like a farmers market meets a bodega. What a cool place to have nearby for high quality ingredients. Was making a recipe that called for green onions and didn't have any. Strolled over to Dan's and found them, along with so much other fresh produce. Prices aren't crazy either. They also have a GIANT pumpkin on display and a contest for who can guess its weight. Super fun idea. Happy to have this type of place in the neighborhood.”
“The staff is very warm and friendly, and just about all your bases are covered there, for a neighborhood market. Good liquors, beers, a few good wines in the back (OZV Zin was a nice surprise) and I saw dog food and cat food too.”
“Jazeera Market's fantastic - they're close to Fireside and the Pacific Pinball Museum, so this is just the place to pick up something super unique to bring inside. They've also got a number of exotic coffees and delicacies, which I can appreciate. The friendly service just seals the deal.”
9AM - 9PM
1449 9th St, Alameda“Awesome way the store is design but there is a refrigerator in the back not being used and I think it be should be with the other and unless if it's not working or broken then that make more since but I think the refrigerator that not being used should be use like all the other and there should be price tags on everything there is in the store and one last thing that store should take ebt cuz every store takes it so this store should take it to”
7AM - 9:30PM
500 Lincoln Ave, Alameda“Great place!! I've shopped here for 15 years. Always great customer service. The family knows me well. They're wonderful. Back when I was in middle school, I'd try to get here every morning before school to avoid having to eat the school lunch.”
10AM - 7PM
1537 Webster St, Alameda“My friend is constantly looking for some Eastern European food. She also lives in MN and has been craving to get back to this place which we went to yesterday. My god, the potato pie here made by someone that works here is just astounding. You can get in the market in the frozen food section. We had some beef sausages and found some plum wine that looks amazing although she said it might taste a bit like ether. She's going to share some with her brothers when she sees them in a couple of days. I'll be back when out of town friends come to visit to spoil them with homemade treats.”
“Old school liquor store mart and deli vibes. Some nice table and chairs in the front. I got the heated sandwich that has hot pastrami and Turkey. This sandwich was beyond what I was expecting. Melty, spicy, mushrooms and peppers…so good. Got it with a toasted sourdough bun. For a little under $10 you can’t find anything like this anymore. Will be back!”
8AM - 8PM
1650 Park St, Alameda“I went to the grocery to get some small odds and ends to finish off the week. I was feeling exhausted today and was kinda out of it but when I went to ring out I got checked out by this amazing lady named Tamisha. She is such a joy and brighten up the remaining of my day with her laughter and comedic banter. She is definitely one heck of an employee!”
“They have an INCREDIBLE selection of craft beer selection and they let you buy singles! They are next door to "Craft Beer and Wine" which is how I found this place. I love Craft but they have crappy hours whereas Everest is pretty much always open when I go. I've gotten Heretic Evil 3 here before which is a pretty hard to get seasonal IPA. Street parking only but they aren't on a particularly busy section so it's always good.”
7AM - 12AM
2001 Lincoln Ave, Alameda“Great place, has a big variety of stuff for a tiny corner store. Wonderfully friendly owner and his son who are very accommodating and caring. I go out of my way to come here often even though I have a closer corner store to me.”
8AM - 9:30PM
2172 Encinal Ave, Alameda“I always stop by for some soda. They carry Mexican glass bottled sprite and coke which taste so much better than the American coke and that's why I like going here.”
“They have a great variety of products ... I love going here because I usually find everything I'm looking for, without the crowd ...Yes, because it's a mom/pop store, I pay a lil bit more but it's worth the convenience of great parking, no crowd ... and at the end of it all, I only paid $3 to $5 more then going to a big store ...”
7AM - 10PM
2700 5th St, Alameda“Living in the Bay Area, I think I prefer this Target over any anywhere else. For the most part, it's organized, and I'm able to find more employees if I need help. I like the selection, and they categorize all their items. I also feel like that I can find what I want. I had been going to the Emeryville location, but I like how not a lot of things are on the floor or missing from packaging.”
7AM - 10PM
650 Central Ave H, Alameda“Have to say , tonight was my 1st time coming here . I have lived on this island for 7 years and never stepped foot ( it is kind of hidden) Whomever was behind the counter tonight , is the reason I will return , time & time again . Fantastic and polite service , extremely welcoming , & extremely rare these days”

2600 5th Street, Alameda“I pretty much love this Safeway! It is always well stocked and they have very friendly staff! Plus the parking lot is Farley big so there's always parking! Starbucks location inside of this store that's never bush and also has very friendly staff! Favorite Safeway hands down!”
7AM - 10PM
1505 High St, Alameda“I usually come in here when I'm at Lincoln Park across the street. This is a decent sized market, good selection of drinks and snacks. Obviously it's located on High Street not too far from the High Street Bridge, and the 'market' part has a decent selection also. Limited parking as High street is usually kind of busy depending on the time of day, nice option for the area!!”
6AM - 10PM
867 Island Dr, Alameda“FAVORITE SAFEWAY EVER!!!! super helpful customer service and clean store!! All workers are really kind and welcoming!! Thanks Mona, Ruthie, Bill, and Celeste!!! My all-time favorite grocery shopping destination!! Happy holidays and happy new year!!! Thanks for your commitment to the community!!! With love and appreciation!!!”
6AM - 12AM
867 Island Dr, Alameda“Recently shopped at Island Drive, and unfortunately left dog food behind by accident - with the help of the store manager William managed to work out it was left in the cart in the parking lot, as he took the time to check. Though it seemed someone else shopping that day got a free bag, as a courtesy the store manager extended a replacement bag to me which was greatly appreciated. Will continue to shop at Safeway regularly!”
5AM - 12AM
2600 5th St, Alameda“Great place to stock up on dijournos, pop tarts, pizza beagles or really just about anything. I even bought toilet paper here once, they got it all and boy do they deliver! Safeway: it's a safe way to shop”
“It is a real joy to shop at Trader Joe's. Produce is always fresh, flowers are beautiful, and I find everything I need and more. People are helpful and very nice. And I love their prices!”
