“Recently a message came up on my display screen that an oil change was required (even though by mileage I should have been good another couple thousand miles). Who knows if the company I went to previously actually used 100% synthetic though. I was recommended to Joe by friends and I always like to support fellow vegans whenever I can, so I scheduled an appt for this morning. Joe was super friendly, knowledgeable and had great communication. He was honest and clear about how everything went with my car and what to do the next time I get a message on my display screen. His prices are reasonable and he is quick too! He does a thorough inspection of the vehicle when he does oil changes and that is great to know when it comes to keeping other functions of the car in good shape. I plan to use Joe/Fairbanks Automotive moving forward for all of my mechanic type needs, and will recommend him/this shop to local friends as well. Also, Awakening Coffee, around the corner, is a super cute spot to do some work/hang out until your car is ready.”

I had a belt shred on my way out of town Fri afternoon of Labor Day weekend. Luckily I was able to drive to Hi-Tech. One of the mechanics was kind enough to take a moment to check it out even though he was busy. I love supporting family run businesses as they tend to be more friendly and attentive, which they definitely are. Since they had all the parts in stock, they got my car fixed the very Next Day!! I am still amazed and grateful. The price they quoted was what they charged. I will definitely be going back for tuneups and other fixes. Thanks again!!! ??”

“I have been using Sherwood Auto Repair for the last 16 years or so. They have worked on numerous vehicles for me and my friends and a few neighbors. I don't know anyone that was not satisfied with their work ...for a number of good reasons. Foremost is their honesty. They do their best to determine what is wrong and tell you what they can do to fix it. They don't "upsell". They don't recommend work, parts, or services to fatten the bill. Which means they are usually less expensive then a dealer. In the most extreme case for me ...dealer said my Toyota pickup needed a new engine for $tousands but Sherwood got me running again for $400 in repairs. That was 14 years ago and the pickup is still running. They are a small "family" type shop but have high-skill, certified, mechanics and trustworthy pricing. For me, they are to auto-repair what Les Schwab is to tires. Friendly, high skill, trustworthy, resonable in price. You can't do better than that.”

“Very fair, honest, prompt service! I ran my TDI Touareg completely out of fuel (which is a big no-no with those vehicles in the first place). They were very honest and straightforward from the first call, explaining thoroughly what the repair process could potentially entail. They were careful to help me understand what the potential outcomes were with hypothetical “best case” and “worst case” scenarios. Thankfully, the “best case” scenario turned out to be reality for me, and they were able to complete the work within the one hour diagnostic fee. I was not charged anything additional beyond the “ best case scenario “ estimate we discussed over the phone. They also provided me a free courtesy check and uncovered a list of concerns and considerations for future maintenance, all included under the very fair price I paid for diagnostics and repairs. I got a very good value for my money and look forward to doing business with them in the future!”

“Solid work replacing the front brake pads and rotors on my '13 Subaru Impreza at a decent price. However, beware the upsell.

Their multi-point inspection claimed that I needed new front lower control arms and a replacement wheel bearing — for which they quoted me $3,600. ? I got a 2nd opinion from an independent mechanic who specializes in Subarus; definitely needed a new wheel bearing, but suspension work unnecessary.

On a certain level, I get it. Inspections help limit the shop's liability and they gotta turn a profit. But ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion, especially for repairs you didn't originally come in for.”

While it wasn't a major concern, I wanted peace of mind since I had a road trip planned. They got me in and out within an hour. After a quick checkup, they confirmed that my car was fine and there were no issues. Although I was quoted $60, their internet was down, and they generously said it was free. “LOVE THIS SHOP!!! I can't say enough good things about this service shop and the family that owns/works it. My sister and I were going to embark on a coast to coast road trip in a 23 year old truck. I knew that the truck had brake issues, which is why we had it towed into Cooke's Brake Service. Pat offered to look the truck over for any other issue that it might have that could cause us trouble on our trip. They worked with our tight time schedule and fix a couple other issues that helped us to have a most enjoyable and trouble free trip. Bill let us know that if we ran into trouble on our way that we could call any of them for advice. What an incredible comfort that was to us. Great shop and amazing people. “I have never experienced such great customer service from an auto body shop! My car broke down on me while at the beach and the tow truck didn’t get me till 12 at night. We arrived at 3:30 in the morning with no notice Saturday night. When I talked to them Sunday morning they gave me assurance that they were gonna get it done and get me on the road. They had be set same day on Sunday! They were super on it and respectful even when I was not the ideal customer. My only suggestion would be to give them a call if you’re gonna be arriving at 3 in the morning even if you know they are closed ??”

Beginning with a full vehicle report sent via text, I had a clear understanding of what the issue with my vehicle was, as well as a full run down of the condition of everything else under the hood. “First off I wanted to take a moment and share some feedback here regarding Ground Clearance Customs. Coming from myself being a small business owner, I know the importance and how critical reviews can be for future prospective customers. I read reviews thoroughly before ever making a decision. Now on to the details.I reached out to Chaz in regards to adding a lift kit to my 2021 Chevy Silverado. The responses I got were nothing but FAST! I almost immediately received quotes around 4-5 different lift brands, including wheels & Tire options.I found a smoking deal online a lift being sold private party, but didn’t have the confidence to pull the trigger. Chaz was nice enough to provide me all the details I needed including doing additional research to help me decide to purchase it. I ordered wheels and tires directly though ground clearance customs and the delivery was very quick (despite the winter weather holding up delivery).Chaz offered me the flexibility to drop off my truck in the late evening with him staying late, and being able to knock it out in 2 days. I had asked for photos of the installation and he sent me MORE photos than I had originally anticipated!!Overall my experience was a 5 star experience and he’s been nothing short of helpful, had amazing communication and been very transparent on expectations.
