“This place was amazing! We have never stayed here before so when you first come in you will notice how clean everything was! They give us 2 free meals and 2 free adult drinks upon checking in. My husband and I have our 2 little children with us, and they loved the pool area. The hot tub was hot and clean. The indoor/ outdoor pool is heated and actually warm to swim in. The pool area is clean and nice. Our room was on the 7th floor and amazing. Great water pressure and very clean. I actually slept great after traveling all day. In the morning, I took my kids down to do the free breakfast, and it was great food. We made our own waffles. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again!Walkability: Ruby Tuesday is right in the parking lot and easy to walk to with little kids.”

“The Morehead Inn delivered the wedding of our dreams—I can’t say it much better than that! We toured a few venues in Charlotte, with Morehead being our last stop. Let’s just say we were blown away. Despite having held a wedding the night before, the team had laid out a sample table and table setting for us to see, and took us on a full tour of the public spaces and private rooms. You can rent the inn for an entire weekend, including the guest rooms, which is what we did—and it was a fantastic experience for us and our wedding party and family who stayed there. Having all of our VIP’s right there was wonderful, and they got to enjoy the beautiful guest rooms and hospitality of the Morehead. Their team delivered on every level—from big tasks like elaborate room flips to the tiny details, like bringing up snacks and cider to our grandmother who has limited mobility. The absolute care and joy that the team brings to their work was clear in everything they did.We have to give the biggest shoutout ever to Brooke, Venue & Events Director, who was our point of contact. From the first tour to the end of our wedding night, Brooke was there with us. I think we sent her about a zillion emails and a trillion questions, and she answered them all with speed, kindness, and know-how. She is an asset to the Morehead and truly made our experience so special and personal. You can tell that she loves her work. When we realized we hadn’t brought firewood for our after party around the fire pit out back, she went above and beyond and had her team go out and get some—the smores around the fire pit were an incredible end to the night.The Morehead Inn’s catering partner, Something Classic, did an incredible job as well. Hannah was our bartender and breakfast server as well as general rockstar, she brought such a lovely energy to the event! Every bite of food we had was delicious, and their menus had so many great choices for us to select from. We loved how flexible they were with drinks as well–we were able to do signature cocktails, which our guests loved.The decor and design of the Inn itself are beautiful—classic, with a touch of flair. This means that all of our photos turned out especially pretty, because the backdrop of the inn is so gorgeous. We got married in December, and the Inn had lovely Christmas decor that was timeless and beloved by our guest—many photos were taken under their Christmas trees!Brooke and the Morehead want to bring your vision to life—and they clearly love to throw beautiful, imaginative, special, intimate events. We had an incredible time (and so did our guests) at the Inn.We truly cannot recommend them enough—visit, and you will see why!”

“I checked in with a with a welcome and friendly happy smile from Amber. She accommodated me a higher floor near the corner to be more quiet. She even brought the sandals to me directly as housekeeper was off work. I feel she has great customer service that goes above and beyond. But, there were bunch of kids constantly opening a closing door all night, talked loud and even running at the hallway.I planned to swim in the morning, but the water was filthy dirty with hair, debris and floating stuff, likely caused by those kids again. Andrew was kind enough to offer to clean the pool, but it is just too dirty for me.Also, the room AC was strange as it constantly ran for few minutes and stop for about a minute. It was very loud that when it ran, I barely could hear the TV audio. I have stayed in many other aloft hotels before and never noticed or recall issue like this. She accommodateDon’t know why the corporate have a noisy mechanical clock next to the bed? I had to unplug it.I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, 1st night was rough, but other two nights were normal. Although the 1st night experience was bad, the staff were offered some compensation.”

“Perfect place if you are going to walk to the.Bank of america football stadium. Perfect place if you're going to get a lift to spectrum center. Does not have a free breakfast but everyone can't be in the sea suites. Is very up to date comfy room great scenery.Rooms: The room is fancy smith see you will not be disappointed the shower is awesome.”

“Overall a good experience, it was overloaded with kids and teenagers for some type of competition in the area which made it quite loud, but not an issue. The restaurant was tasty, the bar had good drinks, the staff was friendly. They don't keep up with their flyers at the front, so they may be outdated or have incorrect info on them. They seem to host a lot of events here so be ready for large crowds randomly. Ice machines locations info on the TV show locations on almost each floor (2-7), and there is a place for one, but they don't all exist. The ones that do exist don't all work, so it's a bit of a wild goose chase for ice which was aggravating. Parking was easy so that's a plus. Great location, very convenient to many things. No mini fridge in the room was a bit of a bummer.Rooms: No mini fridge in the roomsFood & drinks: Bar and restaurant were tasty and friendlyNoteworthy details: Fix the ice machine issues. Update their locations on the TV and repair the ones that exist. Don't have people wandering around for 20 minutes just grabbing ice.”

“Spectacular hotel. This is what a 5 star hotel should feel like. The detail of the rooms and environment are welcoming and extremely comfortable, the housekeeping staff was great, with turndown multiple times per day and linens so comfortable and crisply done (weird how you notice when it's so good). I had to work while on vacation one of the days, and there are multiple beautiful lounges, or your spectacular room to work in. Quiet despite being in a busy street. Service at front desk and restaurant were very good, and the food was good as well. Only minor ding is that if driving, it's hard to find the front, and valet only on busy intersection.”

The pool is no longer available but I was given all the details and options that fixed this issue. I encourage anyone looking for pool details to ask about them. The solution was perfect! “Rooms: Rooms are beautiful.Food & drinks: The Fifth Fork Restaurant has a top-notch chef and an on point grill master! Knows how to prepare a good steak. It was very well seasoned.”

“I struggle writing this review because while we liked certain aspects of the stay/hotel they were some things I wanted to note that surprised us.The location is perfect, it's easy to find and parking is easily accessible. Once we arrived we got to the rooms and couldn't figure out which one was actually ours because they're numbered 1-5 and our reservation didn't indicate what number we had. I called the manager and left a voicemail asking but never heard back our entire stay even though the reservation notes indicated to call or text if needed since there is no staff on site. We ended up just going down the hall putting our code in each door until we found our own. The rooms are fantastic, they're clean and comfortable and I love the vibe of each room.Directly outside the rooms is a full bar that opens at 4 and goes until what we thought was midnight but ended up being closer to 1AM. They're open to the public and it gets packed so be prepared for a lot of people in the hallway and standing outside your room. It is loud and while we did find earplugs the hotel provided just be prepared for how loud it will be and how long into the evening it goes. Even once closing the staff cleaning up was chatting as normal until about 2:30AM and you could hear all of those conversations as well. All that said, the bar has an incredible cocktail menu and the bartender and other staff were all extremely friendly so if you stay here definitely grab a drink to try.Overall though we liked Refuge, the rooms were comfortable and nice but there were just a few things we encountered that we weren't expecting that contributed to a lower star rating.”

“It’s definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was clean and functional. Close drive to downtown, Carowinds, and CLT. However, I was most impressed by the great service. The woman who checked us in on the night of the 15th was energetic and welcoming, and the man managing the breakfast the next morning was equally great- clearing plates quickly, chatting with guests, and making sure everyone’s needs were met. Unfortunately, parking is $11/night.Nearby activities: Carowinds”

“Such a beautiful spot for weddings. I enjoy every opportunity to shoot here! Recently attended a wedding and the staff was wonderful. We were served dinner, and it was delicious. The bridal party and guests were not rushed from the ballroom, and they were treated extremely well throughout the day. I appreciate it when we, as vendors, are treated so welcomingly.Walkability: Easy access from parking deck to lobby. Makes it easier when carrying equipment in for an event.”

Prices are totally reasonable, the bed and amenities were fantastic, and just off the beaten path enough to be customer focused and not always crazy busy. If you just want a great night's rest (with or without kids), and stay away from the real hustle of Charlotte this is the place to be.”

“We had a great stay! The pool is heated, gym was functional & clean, the room was clean and spacious. Parking was free!The only reason I've dropped service to 3 stars is because their "cafe" was out of SO MANY menu items. They also have no kids options and charge $14 for airfryer chicken strips & fries. Yikes.”

“I used the online check-in and valet. The valet was very easy to use and good service. After requesting my car, the valet driver Irv brought it out within just a few minute and even loaded my bags.I had no problems with the online check-in and out. The hotel is in a great location and steps from the Spectrum center.”

“This is the third time we have stopped by and have seen the restaurant closed early again. It was around 8:40 and I thought they served until 9:00. Its not making my stay very pleasant.Food & drinks: Restaurant keeps closing early”

“I had a quick turnaround in Charlotte and this hotel far exceeded any of my previous Hilton stays there. The staff was welcoming and inviting, and the two ladies were very pleasant to deal with when I arrived Monday morning. I had no problems getting a shuttle (although you should know to call the hotel to arrange pickup from the airport - I did ask through the app). No problems with checking in, coffee was available and hot with options, and the rooms had a really nice layout and were pleasant. It was extremely cold, hot shower, everything was just like you'd expect it to be to make you feel at home. I honestly wish I had more time in there. Be sure you put your name on the list if you want to go back to the airport (that wasn't an issue, just FYI). This is where I'll stay when I go to Charlotte and when I don't want to go downtown!”

“Suitable but unimpressive hotel. Check in was easy and the staff were all very friendly and professional. They offered 3 vouchers for complimentary drinks and snacks, which we unfortunately did not have time to partake in. The room itself was clean and comfortable but seemed a bit outdated. Breakfast was good but very basic and a bit low on the quality and variety. No issues with the hotel but I will probably just up my price point next time I’m in the area and seek different accommodations.”

“I’m posting this because I am livid by the treatment that I received recently at this hotel. I have had family & friends stay with this location based on me referring them here during past couple years. Going forward I will NOT suggest they stay at this location due to the unprofessional service that I had to deal with.I’m going inside to wait for someone where I stated that I would wait for them at. Long story short the guy working the front desk decided that he is gonna yell and stop me from waiting on someone because he can’t see me from the desk and then stated he would call the police if I didn’t want to leave because how they do not allow people to wait around which they have NO signs to indicate that upon entry the ONLY sign was about NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS.No other employees there have stopped me before. They are always very friendly and helpful. The guy working needs to be educated and trained properly on how not to be quick to judge people who enter the hotel. When I mentioned stereotyping me, and I feel disrespected by his approach He took it all to race stating he isn’t stereotyping me but clearly he did or else there would not have been any discussion to have at all. Please educate your employees that there are multiple types of stereotyping and not just by skin color.If you are the ONLY person working and concerned about people coming in and out You should stay out and approach them when they first walk in and kindly greet someone. You never know what a person is dealing with. I’m just doing my usual when I have guests in town and to be approached like this in front of other guests was quite a bad look for the company.”

“We stayed a full week. The room had 2 beds with sofa bed, kitchen with fridge stove pots and dishes in room. Indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, free 24 hr laundry room, gym, tv and WiFi. Complementary breakfast and dinner. This hotel feels like an apartment! So comfortable and the staff is welcoming and helpful. The courtyard and fire pit was great at night for relaxing. Definitely going to visit again.Nearby activities: Theme park Carowinds is close by for a fun day. The Carolina mall is down the street for shopping and there are great restaurants and quick bite places in walking distance.Noteworthy details: Housekeeping services have to be asked for otherwise will come after checkout. You can get clean towels from front desk otherwise.”

“Room is very nice. Well-kept and organized. Feels close to being home. Very large footprint, so a lot of rooms. Feels a little older, but you forget about that while you rest peacefully. Service very pleasant. I could see my group switching to this place for our future business trips.”
