“Training Ground is well-equipped for a variety of fitness goals and client types. Their fitness equipment and training space is well-maintained and clean. Their personalized fitness plans are dynamic and thoughtful, and trainers explain how each exercise helps your body, while also correcting form and offering encouragement. My own trainer, Josue, and every other trainer I observed were motivating and kind, and they always brought positive energy to the space. I would highly recommend TG for a beginner wanting to learn how to workout, and for an advanced client with specific fitness goals!”

“Just joined, and had a great consultation with Tony, and a personal training session with Imani. I really like this place. It feels like a community, a terrific neighborhood gym. Indeed, it’s a place where “everyone seems to know your name.””

“I started at Healthy Baller three years ago for physical therapy after a knee replacement. I progressed and continued my strength & conditioning training with John Healy. John motivates me and plans workouts for me that keep me excited and continues to improve my strength and overall wellbeing. John asks me what my goals are and is helping me to reach them! Being in my 60’s i want to stay strong and want to continue with my activities without injury, like playing pickle ball and keeping up with grandkids! John is knowledgeable in the right exercises for me that continue to make me stronger without injury! John is excellent and intuitive with picking up when i am not at my best due to various reasons (tired, not feeling my best, distracted, over worked or trained, mental exhaustion etc) and will switch up my training/workout to meet my immediate needs for that day with continuing to challenge me just enough to get my very best out of me for that off day.I’ve never felt better and feel as if i can keep up with folks decades younger than me. Thank you John!”

“I’m new to personal training and am thrilled with my experience at Fitness Together at this point. What a difference between FT and the standard big box gym! FT offers great trainers with an approach focused on me and my goals, an intimate workout setting and top notch equipment.”

“I have been going to the Starfit Studio Arlington since August after signing up for a trial. I like the small size of the classes, the kind but tough trainers, and the personalized attention. I also appreciate going to a woman-only studio in which the equipment and workouts are geared toward women. I have increased my strength and flexibility in a very short time! I also recommend the functional nutrition one on one coaching with Rachael.”

“This place is awesome. A bit small but great staff and most importantly to me extremely clean. New machines, towel service, and usually not crowded (especially compared to other gyms in the area). If you want to avoid crowds further it’s literally open 24/7 year round, so come at off hours.”

“What a great 1st experience. I hosted a Mom Group Workout event at CrossFit and the trainers were so good at showing us the proper form to lift weights and how to lift the bars. They did a great job planning the event to help a group of Mamas get back at working out. The music was good and I highly recommend others to join their membership program.”

“I used Bench Gym for a couple weeks while visiting for business. The staff responded quickly and communicated effectively. The gym is not large, but has everything you would need. It's located in the lobby of a commercial building, but once you figure that out, it's not difficult to locate. There was never more than two other clients when I was there, so even though it was small it never felt cramped. The workout itself was effective and efficient. They prioritized my safety (prior injury to consider) along with my workout program, which was very appreciated.”

“I’ll start by saying this, I’m super picky about where I go to the gym. The trainers can’t be scared to give me constructive criticism because I’m there to grow. Also, the vibes of the members have to be good. That said, I cannot recommend this place enough. The trainers have taught me so much in my time spent there. Also, the community of people is awesome. Even if they don’t know me super well, I can count on the high fives/fist bumps after class.I only left the gym because I moved to a new city and the commute became too much. But trust me, if I could pick up this gym and move it to my new city, I totally would still be a member. Highly recommend!”

“I had an excellent first barbell club class with Stephen. I took it as a precursor for the crossfit and I’ve never lifted a barbell in my life. Stephen asked about previous injuries, taught me proper technique, and stayed nearby to make sure I was doing all right. I’m excited to do all of the classes, especially the animal flow and HITT.”

“Love e60!! They have truly enhanced my life for the better since I joined a little over a year ago. I love being able to walk in and know that I will get a workout that pushes me to my max!”

“While I have only visited the studio via Classpass, I have always been welcomed so warmly. The workouts are excellent - variety, challenging, clean and inviting space, instructors correcting form, etc. I took a workout this year on my birthday and they celebrated me with the sweetest gestures and multiple shoutouts. This studio truly feels like a community and I tend to be the student that runs in and out. It has made me rethink other commitments to more corporate studios I am a part of, that offer good workouts but you feel like just a number. Way to go Xtend Barre, such a gem in this neighborhood and I will most definitely be back!”

“Great instructors and staff! Very fun workout too. It didn't fit my schedule, but the management was very helpful and I’d definitely recommend trying the studio out (the low star reviews all seem to be from the prior management)”

“At Foundation Fitness Gym I’ve been doing a combination of physical therapy and personal training with Maroun Yazbeck and Michaela Krsikova. I’ve found their instruction to be wise, comprehensive and life changing.Their plan for me is designed to address both strengths and weakness, and they make innovative changes in the moment. At the age of 81 after years of daily running, as well as pilates classes, I need these workouts to stay in shape mentally and physically.Foundation Fitness is a small gym which offers personal instruction to clients. Having tried many different classes and physical therapy sessions, I highly recommend this experience.”

They’re all welcoming & are so supportive. The members are kind & are a pleasure to be around. People from all different background are members of the gym so you won’t ever feel out of place. Also if you’re a woman, this is a safe haven for us. Overall If you’re looking for a gym home, you’ve found the right place. You won’t regret it.”

“I love F45, their model of station to station with timed sets is perfect for me. I am someone who struggles when at the gym to continue working and avoid distraction. With F45 you are surrounded by supportive coaches who encourage you, correct form issues, and educate you about proper cooldown and workout balance. I am committed and I am preaching the same to my friends”

“The coaches are amazing, they helped with my power lifting so much. The atmosphere at the gym is great, super positive and inclusive environment. The workouts are perfect for people who like to push themselves to their limits (not unsafe nor unhealthy). I would recommend Ballston CrossFit to any family member or friend looking to join a new gym, cannot say enough good things about my experience.”

“Coming off 2 years of convalescence and rehab from a severe injury, I had lost my core strength, basic mobility, and gained weight. In F45, I found the right fit of scaleable functional fitness, coaching, quick turn recovery, and measurable feedback I needed to regain my fitness and movement. With consistency and scaling and little victories each day across 5 months. I returned to a healthy weight, body fat % , and went from being unable to jump to doing box jumps and jump rope again. And I reversed the trends taking me down an unhealthy road. I am now able to treat my disabilities with exercise and movement that puts me at my best fitness level in 8 years.More importantly I love my community at Fairfax Circle of fun and inspiring people. Going to my F45 at Fairfax Circle workout is indeed my favorite part of everyday. Truly Life Changing for me.”

“I have had such a good experience at Burn Boot Camp Falls Church and would recommend to any age or skill level! My personal experience - I was struggling to find time to work out postpartum and finding a gym child watch that I would trust to watch my 3-month baby. Then I joined Burn and I was able to train hard for 45 minutes while knowing my son was being cared for. I've been going 4-5 times a week for the past few months and have loved it!I highly recommend everyone to at least try it out! The trainers offer modifications for all ages, skill levels, and ability levels. Also, they always offer some form of free trial, so don't hesitate to try it out!Child Watch - There's a dedicated room with kids toys and crafts and I was able to park my stroller/bassinet in the room (so my baby could nap if needed). Child watch would help get my baby to sleep while I was working out if needed. Also, the child watch does not give bottles. At this location, you do not need to register your kid ahead of time, just drop-off your kid before class. There was typically 2-4 adults on staff to watch the kids. All the staff are great, but we loved when Melany and Alicia were working - they have been such good caretakers for my baby and are great with kids.Pricing - The gym is premium pricing - but worth every penny in my opinion. You are paying for the small group training experience, planned workouts, and high-quality childcare. The best way to get their pricing and package info is to go in-person or send an email because it's not posted on the website (since pricing varies regionally.) You can pay monthly, buy class packs for individual classes, and they offer discounts if you commit to 6-month and 12-month contracts.Location - This Burn location is beautiful! It has huge windows (I love the natural light) and the bathrooms are great (with showers!)Front Desk - I love how the front desk staff greets you by name and are super friendly. Shout-out to Keke and Mari for being so kind!”

“Ballston - Spenga is one of my favorite studios to workout. All the instructors and owner Sherry are the best instructors and you’ll never find anywhere else! The studio itself is always clean, all bikes and other equipments are always sanitized. If you are looking for a place that you enjoy working out this is the PLACE!”

“This gym is amazing. I came in very weak with no experience, and one year later, I feel confident in my body and I made significant progress. All the coaches are great and Alesa is beyond awesome. There is no other place like this, I highly recommend going here.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As a current member of this CrossFit gym, I can't emphasize enough how incredibly supportive the coaches and community are—truly a close-knit family vibe. The owners excel in maintaining open communication, ensuring all members feel heard and valued. The programming is challenging yet exceptionally effective, and I've already witnessed significant positive transformations in both my body and mindset. Highly recommend!”

“The results speak for themselves, but it's so good I still need to tell you about it. It's not cheap and we only did a month there with a Black Friday half-price special before we moved over to Alexandria, but the experience we had couldn't have been better. The coaches are so positive and motivating, as well as thorough in their pre workout demonstrations and make those small corrections in our movements that make all the difference in our results and the burnnn! They coaches have a built a solid community within the gym which can't be understated. The HIIT circuits are setup so nicely, flowing through about 10 different stations and leaving the whole body worked by the end of the class. These classes are pretty solid for building muscle but you're not going to get huge or insanely strong with this style of workout. This will be more for toning muscle/athletic build as well as gaining functionality and work capacity. It's nice that it's all based on time rather than numbers so everybody can go at their own pace. However, if you really want to push yourself as hard as possible, then I'd say this targets the heart and lungs more than anything, and health is what it's really all about. This is even true in the resistance classes, which you always leave with a serious pump. The weights you're using aren't as heavy as CrossFit which mostly allows for you to push yourself in a safer and higher paced manner and there's more variance in exercises and movements than Orange Theory without the concern of running injuries so while all of the big name HIIT enterprises have some advantages, I believe F45 is the best because it has the most well-rounded diverse stimulus mentally and physically and therefore has the most potentially for truly being "in-shape", healthy, functional, and athletic because you're more motivated to consistently train hard and allowed to do so while staying injury free.If I have to knock it I'd say that some of the exercises are more body building oriented (fly's and curls) than I'd like, but most are performance based. I will also admit, if this were my only training then I'd definitely like to have heavier weights on resistance days because those end up mostly being muscle endurance for me (which is more important than raw strength if I'm forced to choose). I'd also appreciate a little more sprinting but I know that greatly increases the injury risk so I understand the omission there. Also if there was more space, I would love to incorporate something more explosive like med ball throws. All in all though, considering the energy in there, the results you'll get from start to finish only sacrificing 45 minutes to make the rest of your day better, this place is great!”

“I’ve been a member at PfP for a few months now and love it! The workouts are challenging; they change monthly (and each day is different) and the staff is kind and helpful. Aubrey is great at checking form and making sure you are getting the most out of your workout. I’ve really enjoyed it so far! Five stars!!”
