March 18, 1974: opening of West Lawrence branch at Iowa and Harvard. Number 12 on list of Capitol Federal branch network; number two in Lawrence. Dick Holzmeister served as first manager. 1979: all Lawrence loan origination and processing centralized at West Lawrence. 1986: a separate loan office was created in leased space just west of the branch for processing of all Lawrence loan origination, closing, and servicing assistance.
