“Entering the room it's like your at home. Everything is neatly kept. The owner is on site anytime day or night. Never had any issues with the room nor other people staying. I've stays in the extended room twice and I'd do it again if needed. The owner is on call 24/7 and will address any problems or concerns promptly. I recommend the Windsor court hotel to everyone I know”

“Our room was so nice and had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The romance package was such a fun touch too! The staff was very helpful and friendly, and this hotel is very close to so many other fun things in Des Moines. I would definitely recommend it! The breakfast was DELICIOUS! We did not stop at the bar, but it looked really nice!Walkability: This hotel was very close to the skywalk, which is helpful for getting to so many different spots downtown and staying warm while you do it!Food & drinks: Breakfast was delicious and there was a great variety of food available!”

“We enjoyed our stay at this centrally located hotel for what we wanted to do while in Des Moines. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly. Our room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We will stay again when in the area.”

“Grate place to stay if in town. Staff is very friendly and helpful. In a great location to get to anything you want to do.The only things I think need work are smart tvs in the rooms, and the hot tub needs to have some work done on it.”

“Great location, nice and clean, great staff. Smaller run of the mill room, but it was clean and did the job. REALLY chlorinated pool, so know that. Nice enough place for the price.”

“I wouldn’t say it’s the best. The rooms are really nice apart from it having no soap anywhere and there being blood on our bedding. Also I don’t recommend the breakfast. It’s the most flavorless chewy food ever. I just sat there laughing with my husband because the whole experience felt like being at an unwanted family gathering. Very awkward very gross. Side note the juices all tasted like water, just wanted to enjoy my apple juice lol. One last thing… if you don’t mind hearing the employees talking on FaceTime everywhere and the stairways smelling like weed then you’ll love it here…Food & drinks: ?”

“Rooms were spacious, beds were large and comfy, sheets were soft and cozy w.fluffy pillows. I loved the smell of the bath/soap/lotion products. The cocktails @ the bar were great & the restaurant had tasty bar food. Both the bar/restaurant and front desk staff were super friendly & nice but the morning van driver w.the baldhead not too much.”

“The element West Des Moines is one of my favorite properties. I have stayed in both their studio and suite room types and have never been disappointed. My favorite part about this hotel is the nightly manager's reception. Pour your own tap beer and wine along with light appetizers are served next to the lobby in a lounge area in the early evenings. Breakfast at the Element is complementary and one of the better hotel breakfasts out there. Typically there is someone who cooks a daily special to order for guests. The hotel location is very walkable with restaurants and retail.”

“-19 degrees, several feet of snow, 2am, no taxi/iber/lyft available, walked 20 minutes in life threatening conditions to get there. Girl at desk refused to rent a room to me because only 20.5 years old. “Need to be 21”. Thanks for zero empathy. Stay anywhere else. I had to.”

“Very clean rooms, very spacious, and comfortable, eveything we needed was already in the room, good continental breakfast, didn't get to use the pool, but it looked very well kept up, everyone who worked there was super friendly, I have a hard time getting comfortable in most hotels, this one was very comfy, only negative, couldn't get the lid to stay on my delicous cup of coffee, keep up the good work, don't ever sell out to Wyndham, that will destroy all you built, much appreciation for the whole staff thank you.”

“The Cozy Rest Motel is on a very busy roadway, but don't let the noise deter you! Once the air conditioner is pumping out a delightfully cool breeze, the traffic will melt into the background ? A mini fridge would have been a nice addition, but there were plenty of service stations nearby to keep our cooler filled with ice.Nearby activities: We stayed here to attend the National Balloon Classic in nearby Indianola; it was an approximately 20-25 minute commute.Walkability: There are quite a few restaurants within a mile, but it isn't really close to any activities.”

“It is always nice to visit new places, today was no exception I went to try their new menu, really fantastic, the service was very good ? I ordered a desert I really liked it, I need to try the whole menu ”

“Front desk had no idea what they were doing, how many times does the manager have to be called to check someone in.But that’s typical of all hotels, the least qualified are forced to run the hotel in the evenings.$127.00 for a room and no free breakfast. But you can buy breakfast from the bistro/cafe. But they’ll most likely be closed.Noteworthy details: Fridges are off in the rooms, so don’t expect it to keep anything cold. It takes time to get cold and will turn off in 8hrs automatically.”

“I am a Jewish American man who apon arrival at your establishment was ridiculed with hateful antisemitic slurs regarding my religious attire which I found disrespectful as I had done nothing to insure it, after being rudely escorted to my room and my bags crassly tossed onto the floor of my room. If that wasn't bad enough I requested room service the following day during a long period that I would be out of the room, and upon my return I see that room service had not been to my room, and when I inquired about the reason for this I was told quote ( can't you clean up after yourself?) Then they explained that my room hadn't been cleaned not because of under staffing or high quantity of business which would have been understandable but because they operate the expensive rooms like the one I stayed in on rotation to properly distribute tips. All that not even mentioning that the ac in my room was very dysfunctional and caused my room to be very hot the entirety of my stay and although the staff that eventually cleaned my room was polite and quick I believe her name was Jennifer who should be commended, I still regrettably will not be staying with this establishment anytime in the future and would highly discourage this as your choice.”

“I booked one room for one night but unfortunately my plans changed. I called up the hotel not asking for a refund but to just change the date. They absolutely refused to changes the date even though I payed for a room. So I am out $123 that they just get for free. That is a bad business. I will never book with this business again and I will let anyone asking for recommendations on where to stay in the Des Moines area to not stay here. Horrible!!Responding to the owner: I called the reservation company. They called your hotel and your hotel still refused to change the date. The reservation company said that it was at your discretion as to whether you would allow the date change or not. Your management refused to change that date and kept my payment. Again this is very poor business by your company.”

“Check in was speedy and quick . Parking was up close. Griffin was very helpful. Shuttle driver Bill and Scott were very helpful, friendly and made sure our visit was pleasant. Hotel is clean, housekeeping was helpful as well. Location is in the Downtown area and the shuttle was available to take us to the fair, and farmer's market. I love the Holiday Inn and will definitely stay with this franchise. The pool and hot tub looked refreshing but I didn't get a chance to soak. Breakfast was nice and hot. Check out was speedy as well. Thank you for a pleasant time .”

“My husband and I just needed a place to sleep last night before flying out this morning. We booked this hotel because it was under $100 but still looked decent. I was very pleasantly surprised. The girl checking us in was very friendly, the room/bathroom was exceptionally clean, and the bed super comfortable! I would definitely stay here again.”

“This hotel was nice! Easy to find. The room was clean! The lotion was out in the bathroom, but it was not a big dea,l I had my own. Beds were a bit too firm for my husband. All in all had a good experience.”

“When I first arrived here the lobby smelled and I was really thinking twice about it but once I got to my room opened the windows and turned on the ceiling fan and cleaned the room real good and checked the mattress for bed bugs which there was none it is really a good place to stay just mind your own business and pay your rent and you will be good prices for everything is really a good deal it’s a cozy little place to stay I would recommend this place it just needs a little TLC”

“Nice, especially for the price. Slightly above average breakfast, pretty good poll, and very nice rooms! Not sure why it only has 3.6 starsRooms: Nice, recently updatedSafety: Felt very safeFood & drinks: Breakfast could have had more protein sources, such as eggs and sausage. However, it did have biscuits and gravy as well as waffles, in addition to everything else you would expect from hotel breakfast.”

“This has become my go to hotel when I’m in Des Moines. The staff is amazing! I’m always struck by how kind everyone is. The rooms are quiet and clean and it has everything I need. Stevie, is an amazing front desk staff. She remembers my name and greets me with a smiling face every time I come! Thank you for the comfort experience.”

“Very friendly front desk. Easy to change or itinerary after we arrived. Very comfy king bed and cable choices were huge! Only downfall was very little breakfast choices and very tart orange juice.”

“This was my first time staying at a motel 6 since a lot of the other hotels were booked the weekend I traveled through Iowa for some reason. It’s not an extravagant hotel (nor does it advertise itself as one). It’s right next to a Marriott in corporate corridor, right off I-80. I arrived at 10 pm and felt pretty safe. The room and bathroom were clean and you can tell the hotel was recently renovated. I didn’t smell cats or pet odors like other reviews have said. The room was clean and very basic. (The ruffle in my photo of the bed was from me checking for bed bugs, there were *no* signs of them anywhere on the mattress)There was noise from the highway that I thought would keep me up all night, but turning on the fan on the air conditioner drowned that out all night. The shade was also basically a blackout shade so I didn’t get woken up by the sun.Water pressure was great, hot water didn’t run out, but bring your own toiletries. The one very difficult thing to deal with was the door to the room. This thing was heavy as **** and really hard to close. I have carpal tunnel had to use my hip to open the door it was so heavy and stuck. Getting it closed was really difficult and loud. The hallway was a little unkept but they have been doing construction and all the dust looked like basic construction debris”

“Overall our room was clean and smelled just fine. Hallways smelt a little smokey but nothing terrible. The front desk clerk was friendly when we checked in and out. Breakfast was simple but yummy. The only complaint that we have is that the pool was too moldy and musty to swim in. They seriously need to get some ventilation in there it is a major health hazard. We noticed there was no ventilation in the bathroom as well.”

“Stayed there for several months while looking for a new place. Great staff. Provided any accommodations I requested. Cleaning staff also very friendly, and never touched any of my valuables I left in my room. I could leave cash out and it went untouched.”
