“Went into ALDIs to see what they had. There is a large variety of food and produce, as well as a small home section. The items are packed on the shelves in boxes but the prices are fairly good. There is plenty of parking available and trolleys available outside.”
“I enjoy shopping here when I'm in the area. They have a good, diverse selection of produce that looks fresh the times I've visited. The prices can be pricey, but with a prime membership, you do get an extra 10% discount. They also offer daily specials and other sales/promotions to take advantage of.
They offer a nice seafood, deli, and cheese section. I like that they try to promote local options. The customers shopping here look happy, and the employees are welcoming and happy to be here.
The parking lot has plenty of parking, and you can do Amazon returns and pickups here. The self checkout is a little crowded when it's busy. I wish they had more locations in the area!”
“Delicious food and friendly staff. We particularly enjoyed the vegetarian platter which offered a variety of dishes to try including spiced rice, Mediterranean salad, grape leaves, falafel, baba ganoush, hummus, and pickled veggies. Everything tasted great and we paired it with an Apple Barbican beverage from their grocery section and some baklava for dessert. Happy full bellies after lunch today :) Thanks Mo'z!”
“We had Hy-Vee west Des Moines on grand and ep true cater our wedding and Larry did an amazing job! Everything looked and tasted just as we expected. We really felt Larry went above and beyond to make our wedding meal run so smoothly!”
“I ordered food and balloons for my daughter's Baby shower. I received a lot of compliments on how great the food was. I ordered on-line and everything was ready at the selected pick-up time. The gentleman that helped me walked me to each department to make sure I had all of my order. There was an area for special instructions which I could've stated I wanted delivery. I found that out after the fact. Delivery would have been way more convenient. I had the balloons delivered but I ordered via phone and delivery was offered. I had a good experince”

I'm wondering, though, if they're open til 11 pm like Google says. I went in about a month ago and asked that question, and the person said they close the gates and send the cashiers home, but customers are still able to get stuff from the wine and spirits section if they ask.
I got off work late today and was told that once the gates were down, they don't even have the keys to open them back up (which makes me ask how they lock in the first place, but ok). So, in effect, wine and spirits closes at 10 pm.”

“This is becoming my go to location more and more. I live closer to the Windsor Heights store, but it's been going downhill quickly. After the revamp of the floor and shelving I was hoping the Windsor Heights location was going to be better. Nope. The West Des Moines location is consistently clean, well organized, and well stocked. It definitely makes the few more mile drive worth it. Kind of sad that I'd rather drive to this store or Grimes than to do business with the one closest to my home.”

“They icebergs lettuce ? is way better than Walmart’s. I like the fact that you can grab and go; convenient items are located in the front of store, including breakfast and munches, but you can go further into the store and shop!”
