“I prefer this shop for weekly shopping. They have fresh vegetables and all the Indian groceries. I like their hot samosas and sugarcane juice. I used to eat in desi bites last time i ordered dosa and dosa was good but the sambar is expired so I ate with chutneys. Otherwise good shop to go”

“We had to move my gf's mother into a Senior Living apartment in Ankeny last night. She's moving here from Oklahoma City and the items stocked between our local stores and what she is used to are a little different. One of the things she had to have is Raymundo's sugar free gelatin. Afer using the mobile app I was able to find the item in two stores. Urbandale and Mills Civic. The app even told us where to find it... Aisle 20 South. Aisle 20 doesn't have a sign on it, but there is a refrigerated section on the other side of aisle 19. After about three back and forths we couldn't find the Raymundos. I grabbed a younger gentleman who was kind of over by the meat counter and asked if he could help us. He had to go check a couple of things but came back after a few minutes. He walked with us and was able to find the item... We bought all of it. Lol While I wish the app had been a little more helpful and listed a "bay" like the Home Depot app... I have to drop four stars here just because of the customer service we received if nothing else! Thanks Hy-Vee! Glad we were able to find our helpful smile tonight...”
“Self check out normally is a disaster but today I got helped by Michelle.T and she was awesome. She was able to multitask and help with questions along with making sure we got out of there without a hassle. Amazing food and well trained staff. Michelle T working the self check out line on Saturday June 10th was the best so far though”
“The employees are always nice, but sometimes the store is not neat. I know they only have a few employees, and when the truck comes, putting things away is hard to do when they're busy, but there isn't a lot of room to move on truck days. Item availability is less of an issue now, but was a big problem recently”

“A helpful smile in every aisle. That's how the jingle goes. Oh how I miss hearing those ads. Over the last 20 years Hy Vee has really stepped up their game. Once just the corner grocery store is now a huge chain of groceries and more. This particular location has a bank and Starbucks just inside the front doors. On week days 7 to 9 am they offer a drive up donut stand near the front door. Also in the parking lot as spring approaches is their full garden center, and year round gas station. Inside besides aisles and aisles of grocery items are small to go spots. Fresh made sushi. Chinese food. Bakery. Hickory House Comfort food. Floral department. Mia Pizza. New York Style deli. Pharmacy. DSW shoes. And and small clothing shop. A stop once and shop for every thing store. I miss this Midwest chain. Open from 5 am to midnight 7 days a week.”
