Hannah matched our energy through the whole car shopping and financing process, was quick to follow up to check in and send answers to our emailed questions. Her services were much appreciated. First Class repeatedly throughout the years has provided the best used auto rates comparable to other lenders. We appreciate a credit union that continues to give back to their members in a transparent way.”

It is rare but is common practice at a bank in Wes Des Moines, Iowa called "Bank". The "Bank" branch manager is Meredith Moore, who goes to all ends to make our experience the Bank is a hidden Diamond. It doesn't matter where you live as I live in NV.Check them out as they have incredible services as well as "People". Ask for Meredith and tell them Jan sent you.”
“My elderly Mom and i were there yesterday conducting business. A nice young woman greeted us upon arrival, and she ended up being the person we dealt with named Amy Ganoe. Coincidentally she also helped a friend that referred us to this bank. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, very polite, upbeat and patient. I would gladly refer her to any of my family and friends.”
“Fantastic bank!!!! It's the people that work there that makes it great.....AND the dog treats for our furry friends. Thank you for your support and compassion.”
“"What is this pig business and why would I want to deposit money with them?" SmartyPig is what happens when a savings account meets Web 2.0. SP itself is a financial company but not a bank. Funds in an SP account are actually deposited into an FDIC-insured account with the bank BBVA Compass. You can think of SP like a financial management website that provides a wrapper around a savings account. The purpose of the site is to motivate people to save money by creating financial "goals". A "goal" is defined as something being saved up for (like a car, down payment on a house, bills, vacation, etc). SP will keep track of how close you are to reaching your goal (the money you've deposited relative to the total goal amount). "You still haven't told me why I should care about SmartyPig." Well aside from being a motivator for people who are bad at saving, SP also offers one of the highest non-promotional yields for a savings account. The current rate is 1% APY, better than anything you'll find at BankRate.com. That's because SP really does encourage people to save rather than spend right away, so their rates are somewhere between short term savings and long term CD's. And when it comes to redemption, SP allows all or part of your money to be cashed out as a retailer gift card with a good number of options available ( and SP will actually give you a cash boost (i.e. free money). Some of the cash boosts are: Amazon - 3% Banana Republic - 10% Gap - 10% Kohl's - 5% Macy's - 11% Old Navy - 5% Sears - 4% So if you redeem $100 as an Amazon gift card, SP will give you a free $3. This is a no-brainer awesome deal. "Ok that sounds cool, but surely this site has some drawbacks." Yes, but not many. The drawbacks are mostly centered around SP being cumbersome to use as a real savings account: * Deposits/withdrawals take 2 ACH days to process, compared to 1 day for a real savings account * Deposits are frozen for a few days, during which they can't be immediately withdrawn * Money is withdrawn by closing a goal. The entire amount in the goal is withdrawn; partial withdrawals are not possible (but the way around this is to create a second goal, move some money from the first goal to the second, then close the first goal) "I see. So is SmartyPig right for me?" That depends on your financial goals. Granted, even a "high-yield" savings account isn't a great way to make money. But a small amount of liquid savings is always good to have, and SP's high interest rate makes them attractive. So if SP's slightly cumbersome deposit/withdrawal process doesn't scare you away, or if you want a gift card that they offer a cash boost for, then SP just may be worth looking into.”
“Amanda B. In the loan department is a literal Rockstar! She helped me with my loan docs and from start to finish the transaction took about 15 minutes. We bank at another credit union in Des Moines and we will be moving all our business to FPCU. They're so friendly and the staff is always willing to help. They also have a better rate than anywhere else I could get. 10/10!”
“My representative, Nathan, was very kind and helped me with all of my problems. I sadly do not know his last name but I am very glad he is the rep who helped me.”

We met with one of the bankers at the West Des Moines branch: Cameron Arvidson. I was impressed with the way Cameron helped use organize mom's accounts so that everything is set up better:)”

“This is a wonderful bank! I’ve been working with Logan at the West Des Moines location in relation to my grandpa’s account who lives in Cherokee, IA and goes to that location. My grandma passed away in early October which was the trigger to me needing to be added onto the account as POA to assist my grandpa with finances. Logan has been fantastic since day one and I’m so grateful for his assistance and kindness throughout the process.”
“I went thru drive today and got the most amazing customer Service. I have never had a bad Experience with any of the employees at this location. Thank you! Mariela”

I rarely go downtown or to Urbandale but was often in West DSM. I may have to look at going to another bank, which I really hate doing.”
“I have been very satisfied with our service at Midwest Heritage Bank. We have personal and business accounts as well as personal and business insurance with them and they have always gone out of their way to help me get things set up, answer questions. I don't know how business owners can work with big banks and get things done. Any bank will have it's issues with electronic services but they always get any issue I have resolved quickly and professionally. They are simply the best bank for us to work with!”
“I absolutely love the West Des Moines branch! The entire team is very helpful and friendly and I especially love working with Mike. He is very knowledgeable and is very thorough with any questions I have about our loans and why is that we can best manage our finances.! I would highly recommend this branch to anyone who’s looking for someone they can work with who is trustworthy and knowledgeable..”
