“Hardworking people work here. I live not far from Oak Grove Plaza and unfortunately there are often empty shelves there. But in this place there are no such problems.”

“I've shopped here since 1975. I'm Hawaaian mix and left islands back in '74. This shop carries most of what I need: poi, saimin, ahi, taegu, kimchee, ume, shoyu, diamond cream crackers, guava jelly/jam, lau lau, kalua pig, seeds, etc.”

“Olympic Liquors is the Holy Grail for high end Spirits. I'm a bourbon guy and this place has it all .. no joke. If you are looking for that elusive bottle, I suggest you call the store and speak to Sonny. He's honest and truly understands great customer service. Sonny is my new friend”

“I stumbled upon India Bazaar when I was getting Dunkin Donuts a few doors down. Years ago, my friend made a delicious mango flan and when she taught me how to make it, she told me to use mango puree. It's really hard to find mango puree in stores so I thought I'd come in to see if they have it and luckily, they did! The lady working there was really nice and even gave me tips on how to use to mango puree to make mango lassi by adding yogurt! One huge can of mango puree was enough to make a mango flan and still have some left over for a few lassi drinks.”

“I really like this market. They have everything from lavashak to ice cream, bread, to pomegranate molasses. The owner has always been polite and helpful ( unlike some previous owners over the years). So I will continue to return to this store.”

“Cassidy in the floral department was so patient, friendly, and helpful when arranging flowers for me! She had wonderful suggestions and provided excellent customer service! I will return to Safeway to purchase flowers because of her! Thank you! :)”

“I'm going to Safeway shopper for years always enjoy fighting all my produce and most of my shopping here. The customer service and the produce is always really friendly and nice whenever they're out of items I'm always able to ask someone in the department to see if they have any more in the back which sometimes they able to find fresh ones for me. For the most part the store is clean and nice not the biggest organic section but a decent amount to find most of what I'm looking for. I enjoy the bakery too they have a lot of nice breads that my family and I love. Overall it's a great store.”

“Special thank you to Gabriella, an assistant store manager who was left in charge of the store May 18, 2024. We placed a large deli 9 tray order online and received a confirmation. When we arrived to pick it up, the deli department had no knowledge. The trays were to be the food for the funeral reception for my mother-in-law and we were on our way to the service when we were picking it up. Needless to say, my husband was VERY upset by the mistake by Safeway.
Gabriella showed up at the funeral reception with 5 platters of food. She had made every effort to make it right. We really appreciate her attempts to right the wrong.
Thank you Gabriella.”

“Honestly I only come here for the sandwich you can't beat it. Where else can you customize a sandwich for $5? It's my absolute favorite lunch when summer comes around.”

“I shop their early morning M-F. Walnut Creek store. Semi-retired. Bicycle there so I really like the AC in July. . Produce like apples is from CA. vs Costcos generally not local. Good price on 365 brand organic pasta sauce.
This store has a better produce selection then the smaller one in Concord.
The "gourmet" cookie ? bar by entrance is addictive.
Their boxes of choc chip cookies made in Canada....
Taking advantage of fav US$-$CAD exchange rate.
I think some of their cheaper bread ? from Canada.
Prices generally comparable to a food co-op that I shop in in Seattle.
WF organic potatoes cheaper then a bag of Safeways.
Refreshing break from Costco!

“Very nice Whole Foods, surprised to see such harsh reviews. Large, new, and clean space. Hot food bar/options and coffee/bar + order meals. Has TVS. Staff is great. I feel fortunate we have this in the area, top grocery store imo.”

“They have improved their service. I would not give it one star a year ago but now I am going there 2-4 times a month. Deli corner is improved. Dishes are really good and taste authentic. Freshly baked bread is the best. Cashiers are discreet.”

“Wow. Amazing customer service from Jesus at the cashiers. He helped me get additional discounts by enrolling me onto the Safeway app, and he also taught me how to get all the coupons. These were very simple things but I appreciate that he even took the time, care, and consideration, for his excellent customer service. Job well done, Jesus!”

“I've been going here for over ten years. The majority of the staff is really friendly and helpful. The store is a bit on the small side so the selection is less than in the bigger stores.”

“I made a run to this store while Big Bro waited for our Starbucks drinks to come out from across the way. We were running a lot of errands for the next few days, so I felt having water might be handy. And that's the only reason I was here. I found what we needed in no time and also ended up grabbing a couple of snacks. Got in line and wondered why it was going slow when there were only 2 people ahead of me with less than 3 items each. I then I got it: the customer up front was having issues with her purchase, and the cashier went out his way to help her. It was a really friendly exchange between them two. So I didn't really mind the longer wait. Customer left happy. Cashier was happy to help. I love witnessing good customer service! Good first run! Prolly last, too, because I live nowhere nearby. So glad of the experience, though!”

“My favorite Safeway to go to in the area. Clean, well-stocked, and customer service is excellent. Gina at the register was especially pleasant. She was very friendly, greeting and interacting with every person in line. I noticed this because often cashiers just scan and go through the motions, which I don't blame them, but Gina was especially attentive to each customer and that was much appreciated. It could really make someone's day and she made mine!”
