“What a great community amenity - has everything you could need or want with some great Middle Eastern ingredients as well. Produce is top notch and affordably priced. I can’t see myself going to another grocery store!”
“Downtown Grocery on Eddy St. (between Jones and Taylor St). is my #1 choice of grocery stores in my area. I shop there just about every day. They have everything you need. But what I like the most and is a game changer for me is and overall niceness. I highly recommend this store to everyone. the employees very, very nice people who treat their customers with respect, greeting when you walk through the door and well wishes when you leave. Thank you Downtown Grocery. ?”
“Love this store and all those who work here. Open till 2, which is awesome! Fair pricing, and the owner is very nice! Highly recommend. It’s my neighborhood go-to bodega!”
“Growing up in SF in the 80s and 90s this was one of the few middle eastern grocery stores around so we shopped here a lot. It's a different story today with many stores to choose from but the selection of products here is almost unmatched. The olive station in the back is amazing go check it out! Food is fresh and pans the Arab world. The Owen's are all good people, friendly and helpful. They also have a fresh halawa (halva) section that they slice and wrap for you. Right before you walk in you are hit with an array of spice smells that transports you to another world. Gives them a try and they just might become your go to middle eastern grocery spot.”
“The only Sandwich I’ve ever been to where they put “too much” on a “regular sandwich”. But that’s the thing these sandwiches ARE NOT REGULAR. The sandwiches are hefty and full of flavor. The possibilities are also endless.
On this particular visit I got the #20 and removed the roast beef. It was a very good sandwich. The next time I might try it with the roast beef instead of the pastrami get a different taste on the same sandwich.
A MUST TRY IMO!”
“I’d been combing the whole neighborhood for Maseca and chipotles in adobo sauce, and this store finally had what I needed! Friendly service and good selection for a small store.”
“Fair prices, a wide but not confusing selection, and a really helpful and friendly owner - perfect for anyone stocking up on snacks while travelling around the city! I stopped in here while visiting from the UK and staying at a nearby hotel (Casa Loma), and I'd recommend doing the same for anyone in the area.”
“Good neighborhood market with ray slanging some epic sandwiches. His online order system alright. Plenty of ingredients and different breads to create the sandwich of your dreams. The homemade honey mustard here is really good. Swiss sunset was an interesting experience.”
“Philip was great! We came in looking for olive oil. We didn't expect to find such a small selection but we found smoked olive oil which turned out to be superb!!!! I will definitely go back!”

500 Ellis St, San Francisco“This store is awesome! Although it's located in a tough neighborhood, and some from their customer base are unpredictable, the store employees maintain a level of helpfulness and professionalism which makes shopping with them very pleasant. The store is well stocked with such a varied selection of grocery items you would think they needed are larger places. The prices for their store items are not inflated as such is the case with some stores close to that location. Very nice and attentive staff. You won't be disappointed after shopping at Amigos.”
“Update on my previous bad review. This little market is a gem. The staff - especially at the counter are great. The store has amazing authentic East Asian food items: dumplings, and frozen deserts, fresh vegetables and fresh Korean dishes.”
“Local neighborhood corner store, they always have all the little things you need for last minute baking or if you forget something from a larger grocery run, variety of different soft drinks and other fun food.People there are sweet, very lucky to have this place up at the top of the hill here in Outer Richmond.”

10 4th St, San Francisco“Visited Trader Joe's once a day. Since San Fran is so expensive, it feels like a place with relatively reasonable prices. It was a shame there was no whiskey
In general, the Fuji apples were delicious, and the bananas and peanut jam were really cheap.”
8AM - 10PM
820 Bush St, San Francisco“I live in the neigborhood and this is my favorite grocery store for everything. First the owners and staff are friendly, kind-hearted and sweet. Their produce, meats, eggs, cheese are lovely. Plus they carry my favorite triple distilled ice and they have any drink you need for your friends and family. I also like their specials for "special bottles." And finally...shop local, do it now!”
“Have been to this store only twice and already love it!! It’s the best in the neighborhood when it comes to quality, price and service. What more do you need? Make this your regular store!”
8AM - 9PM
401 Bay St, San Francisco“First and foremost Trader Joe's staff are fantastic. So helpful and friendly, they go above beyond with customer service. We've been to this store twice now for fresh sandwiches, wraps and wine and have not been disappointed.”
“Fresh and delicious with such a friendly team!Amazing local sandwiches / subs. The bread is from Boutin just down the road. Delicious sourdough loaves. The meat is Boar’s Head and a great selection.Really good portion sizes and all served with a pleasure and a smile.Very much recommended if you are in Fisherman’s Wharf.”

1590 Sutter St, San Francisco“Great place. Nice fire places and areas to hang out and read a book or just chill. Service is good. Like most of San Francisco, you have to bee concerned about leaving anything in your car.”
“Good neighborhood market with a decent selection of high-quality items, as well as a meat/deli/meal/coffee counter in the front. I wish it wasn't so cramped (could likely be helped by placing a wraparound/snaking line/queue area by the registers instead of letting all of the aisles feed directly into the register area), but it's not enough of an issue to keep me from coming back.”
10AM - 6PM
One Ferry Building, #28, San Francisco“The chipotle honey seasoning mix is so addicting! I eat it with bread and olive oil as a dip.
The gift set I got for a friend is also super cute :)
Overall, great experience and I hope to return in the future”
6AM - 2AM
920 Geary St, San Francisco“What a gem. Great sandwiches with the healthiest cut of pastrami I've ever seen. Fresh coffee. A fully stocked grocery store. The people working there are warm, funny, polite and personable. It's hard to find a store with this much of a welcoming atmosphere. Walmart, Target, trader Joe's, Safeway and whole foods could learn from this place. 6 Stars!”
“I love that Courtney's is still going strong. This is one of the healthiest places for me to grab lunch (and snacks...and beautiful flowers). From the outside, it looks like a fruit stand, but once you make your way inside, there is so much more. There's always a great selection of pre-made sandwiches (including turkey, bacon & avocado on Dutch crunch), juices with some great blends. Desserts are abundant as well as beautifully curated fruit salads and flowers (including some fringed tulips once). And the prices are very reasonable. One of the other reasons Courtney's is healthy for me is that it's a bit of a trek from my workplace and, if I incorporate walking up 14th St. from Noe to Castro, that's the equivalent of 7 floors per my fitbit.”
8AM - 9PM
1616 Ocean Ave, San Francisco“The variety and price of their produce never disappoints! From Gai Lan to Nopales, they’re worth a stop if you’re looking for harder to find produce. Staff are always happy to help and take requests for items to stock. Support your local grocers!”
“Nice little store with a wide selection of food, snacks, general groceries, a full deli, and drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic). They sell many common brands, but also have some less common ingredients and higher quality/health brands/ products. The location is ideal for me, and without them this area of Potrero Hill would be a bit of a food/grocery desert. The prices are a bit higher than going to Safeway, but the convenience of the location and the deli more than makes up for it.It does not have as wide of an alcohol as a dedicated liquor store (as most of the floor space is dedicated to other things), but the back quarter of the space is mostly wine and other spirits. The owners are also really nice and helpful”
Open 24 hours
1101 Post St, San Francisco“Very beautiful store very active customer service lots of varieties and I’ll definitely go there again it’s a place to visit anytime and they’re open 24 seven.”
8AM - 9PM
1095 Hyde St, San Francisco“Bigger than the TJ's by my house in Oakland this location is more of what you've come to love about Trader Joe's. A very busy location during peak hours so prepare to wait in line to check out, but the line moves quickly. Friendly staff, very accommodating.”
“We are two Korean men.
We were scammed 2 out of 3 times we visited this store.
(Not sure if the very first visit is a scam.)
The price is 50 cents higher than the market price and the change is 50 cents to 1 dollar less. At first I thought it was a mistake, but on my last visit I realized it was a scam.
We went there thinking this was the only supermarket nearby, but we were impressed by how they couldn't even remember our faces and started scamming us again. If you happen to visit, Asians always check their change carefully.
>If you move a little further, there is Trader Joe's or 7eleven. Go there.”
“The Good Life Grocery in San Francisco California had the best, most delicious salads for our daughter, Rebel’s Picnic in San Francisco on our vacation with Deli Salads, lemon noodles, beet salad, Greek salad with olives and feta cheese. Good Life is a neighborhood treasure. Bernal Heights is Heaven.”
8AM - 10PM
2084 Hayes St, San Francisco“This sandwich fiya !!!They filled up to the max, was full after half but had knock out the whole thing. Oooweee have to go back tomorrow for the chicken pesto! This is definitely San Francisco's finest!”
“This market is one of the best deli/grocery /produce markets that I have ever come across! I live in the area and I will go only to this market because of the deli sandwiches hands down #1 and they offer whatever you would like on it and they make it very special and specific. The quality is priceless and the flavors are amazing. I have been coming here for more than 15 years and I'm always blown away of the service/quality and the items they offer in their store. Their location is perfect because they are always on the way to where you need to go, whether to the airport or just around town, it's so convenient. I recently have been there at least 4 times during the week to bring food to the nearby hospital CPMC for my family members visiting from France and locally and their experience was off the charts. Rutily's market is the place to go for everything you need.”
