“SCRAP is awesome! Always something for everyone. Insanely reasonable pricing - don't let the lack of price tags scare you, you'll always pay less than you expect.”

“I love this little theater for its great little, often, local shows. I have seen probably a couple dozen shows here over the years. I recommend the first row seating over the VIP tables often since the tables are very close to the stage.
Also, the accessibility bathroom is on the lobby floor, but the majority of the stalls are down some steep stairs.
Parking is atrocious in Chinatown, plan ahead!”

“Staff are great, specifical team the checked me in at late afternoon helpful, and pleasant, and well organized. I found it welcoming and lobby area had plently if information abiut sites and places to eat in the area, with everything posted in a engaging fun way, yet profession and lobby and hallways very clean. Did a walk around inspection of the kichen, dinning/common area, bathroom, TV area and everything was exteremly clean and well cared for. I stayed in 5 room (3 others besides myself) and room was clean. Llinens offered were professional laundered and I like new/perfect condition. Many noteable San Fransico sites I found to be within a 1-2 walkable distance. I will definitely stay here when I must travel SF for medical appointments, and recommend to others! Must appreciation to the hard-working staff.”

“Been to this place twice now to fix up my bikes, it's an amazing asset to the community!

Every time I went I learned a lot about bikes that I was missing, not to mention I paid a fraction of what I would have in a full-service bike shop. You get out what you put in, the are mechanics at hand, with varying degrees of experience, but you are expected to do most of the fixing yourself. I found that as long as you are actively trying to fix your bike, even if you are struggling, one (or more) of the mechanics will eventually come by and help out.”

“I have fostered with Toni’s for over two years and their kittens are amazing. They specialize in bottle fed kittens which makes them incredibly friendly and social. Their adoption process is thorough, straight forward and supports everyone involved. They are experts at getting you the right kitty for your family and are incredibly supportive throughout the process ! I love volunteering with them and recommend adopting from them.”

“I wandered into this little boutique while my brother was getting his eyebrows threaded next door, and somehow walked out with one of my favorite memories. The moment I stepped inside, I felt the magic of the place. I'd never seen a shop like this with every piece feeling like it had a soul. I collect artistic cards, so of course I gravitated straight toward the displays and picked one out. Important detail: I hate carrying purses. So my cards and cash live chaotically in my pockets. Reckless? Yes. Will do ? Also yes. So when I go to pull out my debit card, my ID shot out like it had somewhere better to be and slipped perfectly under this massive bookcase. I knelt down to assess the situation--an inch-wide slot leading into a dark abyss. Purse: 1. Me: 0. I briefly told the employee what happened explaining why I was all of a sudden on all fours face to face with the ground, completely expecting maybe a shrug. But Instead, he immediately started removing items, trying to shift the entire bookcase, going above and beyond to retrieve my ID. But it was quickly apparent the it was mission impossible to which I fully accepted. But his pure kindness and concern really touched me and we just quickly started talking about the story behind the boutique. Amazing story, and I ended up buying a handmade cup after the fact. And I'd love to say their kindness inspired me to buy a cup, but let's be honest: I bought it because I felt guilty. (...Though I had been eyeing it before my ID made its dramatic escape so I really did want it). Now that cup sits on my bookcase, and every time I see it, I think of how what could've been a gloomy experience turned into one of my sweetest little memories. And yes, I know I'm making this sound more dramatic than it probably was. But 1) you'd remember this shop too if you stepped foot inside, and 2) I do have a history of unintentionally disturbing the peace in small shops, to which my guilt makes it mandatory to make a purchase, only for those "guilt purchases" to become some of my most treasured things.”

“This is an incredible program that without these hero’s doing the work they do many lives would be lost and costs to taxpayers would increase exponentially in emergency medical services that would manifest without the reduction of harm that they provide. The services provided here range everything from Narcan training and free Narcan provided, medical Care on Thursday Afternoons and wound care, all of the possible harm reduction supplies you might need as well as wound care supplies first aid some hygiene items such as disposable undies and feminine products group support and referral for treatment as well as testing of street drugs so the consumer can make a more informed decision on what is going into their bodies. Restrooms are available (restrooms were still being renovated so they might not be ready just yet) the only thing missing from this location is a safe consumption program. The staff and volunteers are some of the kindest people who have no judgement come as you are!”

“Words cannot express how grateful I am to the medical team at SPCA for providing such world-class, empathetic, compassionate care to my previous love bug, Chestnut.

He had a critical medical episode due to an underlying condition. I called them ahead of my arriving and they were fully prepared for my arrival, remembered my cat’s name from the call hours before, and acted swiftly to stabilize him.

The veterinarian came in to deliver the news I was sadly expecting, but did it in such a way that honored the decision I knew I needed to make. They gave me all the time in the world to feed him delicious treats and a final meal, hold him, sing to him, and then hold him as he gently went “to sleep.”

While I am heartbroken, the experience was beyond all expectations and they made it possible for my beloved angel to have a dignified, honorable transition.

Thank you, SPCA, for making his end of life a truly gentle and compassionate transition. Thank you for meeting me where I was at, and for walking with me through it all and helping me into my new chapter without my best friend.

Please never stop the work you do. I cannot express how critical it is to our community.”

“Of the social services I've encountered in the city, the people here are much better, actually trying, actually actively help people get employment (a friend at a shelter was helped to get a job despite criminal record, smoking weed, etc.), and likely actually help people get housing. Also, kind of a secret, but another org gives out lunch and dinner across the street, and they provide coffee n snacks throughout the day, making it a good place to recharge.”

“Been going for over 65 years. Not much lately as I live across the Bay, but the Paul McCartney exhibition drew me in. Prices for special exhibitions in 2025 $35, $32 for seniors if non member. If you like to go regularly get the membership plan. There are plenty of things to see without going to exhibitions, there's one in Manga that looks promising.
Gift shops will have all the merch.”

“I think the square is very good. However, they do not protect their users from scammers, the way I feel they should. People are out here buying products, getting the completed products, and then asking for a refund and Square is giving it without even asking any questions.”

“Internet Archive HQ offers a free tour on Friday afternoons (it's about an hour long). I highly recommend it to anyone. The tour is engaging, and the great people who work and volunteer here are so clearly passionate about the incredibly important work they do. Public availability of knowledge is an important issue that affects everyone, and we all have a role to play in it whether we know it yet or not. You'll come out of your visit here having learned something empowering.”

“Brought a pair of custom jeans that is my most prized article of clothing and was 3-4 sizes too large in the waist to be brought in. I was nervous to have anything done to them but heard Holy Stitch specializes in denim so I gave it a shot. I had an awesome experience around the show and was thrilled with the job they did. They took the pants apart to make the alteration work invisible and put everything back together so the pants look like they were made to fit me originally. I don’t have to wear them with a belt and they would have been around my ankles if I did that before. Really great price and customer service on top. I’d highly recommend.”

“When the 6th st harm reduction/exchange was closed (on Mondays now btw) this is where they redirected me. The staff was so super friendly and helpful. There were not many people there and inside there is a small table and a few chairs if you want to sit for a short bit. They have all the same gear and supplies as 6th Street as well as groups and services for interested folks. Very chill atmosphere. Always supportive and informative. ??”

I was able to cross the entire length of Golden Gate Park after years of being afraid of riding a bike thanks to the skills I picked up in this class. “These are the correct pictures of the entrance for 850 Harrison St. The only detail is that the Google Street View shows the back entrance that is in the parallel street named Clara St. So, make sure you are walking on Harrison St.”

“Thank you for protecting our critical right to free and open—or sometimes encrypted—communication. You could not be more on the right side of history. If politicians could hold as much understanding of technology in their brains as you do in the tips of your pinkies, the world would be a better place. Keep up the good fight! ?”
