“We are here to attend a wedding. The location is good, there are lots of cafes around it. The hotel is unique and the atmosphere is pleasant. The rooms are also quite spacious and the bathrooms are nice. There is an outdoor restaurant. The food at the wedding was really delicious (beef steak). At cocktail events it's also really cool, the charcuterie is great. The service is friendly.”

“Pros:-Our room had a full kitchen-Close to Stanford-On-site laundryCons:-Poor Lighting: Rooms are very dark even with the curtain open. We actually went to the local Target and bought some lamps. That's how severe it was.- Hard to get towels: They often question why you want extra even though they only provide a few per room. We had to explain that there is more than one person in our reservation, we can't survive off a couple towels for our entire multi day stay.- Service is slow: If you need something they forgot to put in your room such as Kleenex or towels ... Expect to have to call the front desk many times because they don't show up”

“This is a clean, simple and friendly place, very convenient to Stanford University and Hospital. We stayed upstairs in Room 21, which had good cross ventilation and a convenient kitchenette. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance, along with a natural foods store and a Mollie Stone grocery. There is some noise from El Camino Real, but we heard nothing from our neighbors and slept well. The small pool was closed during our stay, so check with the hotel if this matters to you.”

“Back again to The Zen Hotel and just as nice as I had remembered. The staff here are amazingly friendly and kind. The price is good for the area and the rooms are just as good if not better than other hotels in town. And the place is definitely more quiet than some other places I have stayed in in the past. This remains my go-to place in Palo Alto. My one request is that they make decaf pods available for the rooms, please. :-)”

We will definitely be returning to this motel .”

“The hotel is old and dirty with multiple mosquitos in the smelly room. The cleaning team left the wet cloth on top of my clothes for a whole day. Will not recommend. After checked out no bill was sent to me.”

“It was very clean. The king-size bed was very comfortable. Its not a fancy hotel. Yet it fit our needs. We were going up to Stanford Hospital for a couple of days. So I just need a nice, clean, comfortable place to sleep, shower and relax.”

“Nearby activities: This is our second visit. Our daughter is an artistic swimmer with a Texas University and she was in town against Stanford. This hotel is perfectly situated. We are runners so we would run over to, and through the beautiful campus of Stanford. We like the restaurants and coffee shops in the neighbourhood which we can walk toand typical mall shopping is close by. This is really a perfect location. The hotel is nice. The staff is friendly the rooms are clean.”

“Joanna at the front desk was extremely cordial and helpful! I hope anyone who stays at the Cardinal gets a chance to interact with her.Hotel is a good value for the location, but the walls are thin so this might be difficult for light sleepers.”

“Overall a pretty nice hotel, with nice amenities. The pool looked pretty decent. The fitness center is well stock for cardio, but a bit on the lacking side for weights. The hotel room itself was pretty good. The wallpaper installation had flaws (but who cares right?) and the carpet was very outdated. The TV / channels was all decent. There was an ethernet port, but it was plugged into a Ruckus that wasn’t plugged in at all. The ethernet port on the floor did not work either. The internet was painfully slow (4Mbps up/down) which made being working difficult. Each floor had a filtered water station on it, however the first night mine ran out of water (which I informed them about it, and they said they’d fix it) but after two days it barely flowing water still. I would have go to different floors each time I wanted a fill up (which really wasn’t a ton). The hotel itself seemed pretty clean and nice. I didn’t utilize the pool but it looked impressive from a distance. The hotel gym was adequate, not as nice as I thought, but it was more than enough for a basic trip. There were a lot of patrons utilizing it while I was there, but not so many I couldn’t gain access to a machine. I would have expected a bit more weights though. There was significant parking spots available, but by nightfall the parking lot did fill up. Parking was an extra $15/day which I didn’t expect.Overall it was decent, the internet really needs to be sped up, especially for a hotel in the heart of silicon valley…”

“First of all I want to thank the management for being so kind, caring and understanding. I unexpectedly have had to stay here multiple times over the last month because my mom is hospitalized at Stanford. They have given me a discount to help with the hardship of having to live out of my car and hotel rooms since she was admitted. Even checking in on me to make sure I'm eating. It's not the ritz but the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, property is quiet, WiFi is good, and most important (to me) the PEOPLE from management to house keeping are caring and great people. After staying at a few overpriced hotels and one horribly disgusting hotel, I am so happy I stumbled onto this place.”

“Given so many negative reviews, my expectation of Stanford Terrace Inn was low. And I want to say something positive about it after staying for three nights . The location is super–walking distance to Caltain station and Stanford Marguerite bus stop. No breakfast but a Starbucks right next to the building. One small pool and one gym. All the front desk people are nice and they stay up for 24 hour check in&out. The room is indeed a bit old but soooo spacious–I don't think new buildings can afford so much space for a shower room with one sink and a connected powder room with a walkin closet and another sink. And it's only 200 bucks per night in early August. I'm quite satisfied.”

“The rooms are outdated, and the carpet is older than me. The stairs are slippery when wet, because they painted concrete. The virtual check in was cool, but the staff was helpful and rude ? at the same time. The cleaning lady's are the highlight of the stay. They was kind and friendly with a genuine hospitality attitude about their job.”

“The room was nor clean. I will never stay here again. Stains on the furniture and carpet. I moved the night stand to get to a plug and found trash under the stand. I stayed hear before and it was tolerable to save money. This time it was not.”

“This hotel was conveniently located close to Stanford Medical Center. There were a few restaurants within walking distance and more that were a close drive. A hot breakfast was provided. The typical scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, potatoes, yogurt, pastries, coffee, and juices. The room was very clean and modern. It appears that they are upgrading the hotel. The bed was super comfortable. The only thing I did not care for was the curtain separating the bedroom from the bathroom. I prefer a door. The staff was pleasant. Check-in and check-out were a piece of cake.”
