“love that this place opened up around the time i moved into the neighborhood. such a convient lil store!
i always hated the idea of an hour roundtrip walk to the safeway at the bottom of the hill. they have a bunch of stuff for different needs, sure not as expansive as a Super Market/safeway, but perfect for quick grocery runs and snacks.
employees are nice people & its not very busy (atleast the hours i go)”
“Neighborhood Corner & Liquor Store is a mainstay on MacArthur and staffed with helpful and friendly folks. Good Sëlection of wares behind the counter and not.”
“Super friendly helpful staff. Asked for Liquid IV. They didn’t have it but were Johnny on the spot with a similar product they’re thinking of carrying. Even gave me samples for free. Thank you guys! You’re the best.”
“I took such a wonderful kimchi workshop here! The instructor was so knowledgeable and the kimchi is delicious. I love this shop for anything I need for a culinary adventure.”
7AM - 10PM
1044 Willow St, Oakland“Sharif’s is my spot! And has been for as long as I’ve been living in West Oakland. My go to for my morning coffee, paper, drinks, fresh veggies and ice cream..and of course lil here-and-there’s like hot sauce, noodles, air freshener, TP, etc. Whole family who runs it are good folks, and they keep their store stocked and make sure they ask their customers what we need or would like to see them in keep in stock. They recently renovated/expanded the interior, and it looks awesome! Super spacious, more fridges, new slushy machines, and revamped fresh veggie section amongst other nice upgrades. Love these guys. Quintessential neighborhood corner market.”
“If you don't already shop at The Food Mill, you should start. It's a health food store that's been in Oakland since 1933. My current obsession is their crunchy peanut butter. You get a giant jar for under $10. It's freshly ground, so fluffy, nothing is added, and no stirring is needed! They also have a thousand bulk items, hard to find ingredients, fresh baked treats, lots of tasty fake meats, and the staff is so lovely and helpful.”
“It's a trader Joe's like all trader shows. Friendly staff. They keep things fairly well stocked throughout the day. I came in this time for the broccoli slaw, potato salad, shrimp, shrimp, dumplings, and because I'm working with a bunch of fruit preserves, trader Joe's vodka”
“Trader Joe’s is my go-to market. They don’t carry everything the typical chain grocery store carries, but nearly everything TJ’s does carry is excellent.”
“Piedmont Grocery Market is a gem when it comes to prepared foods. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and fresh, reflecting true quality that's worth every penny. What keeps me coming back is their ever-changing menu, which always offers new and exciting styles of food to try. Whether you’re picking up a quick meal or planning a special dinner, you can count on Piedmont Grocery for top-notch options. Highly recommended for anyone who values great food and variety!”
“Nice "quick-shop" in-a-pinch grocery store. Any retail shopping in the Oakland Hills will set ya back abt 20% more gross... But consider it a convenience tax for its ideal location. There's plenty of artisinal brands, organics, locally sourced goods; plus plenty of conventional brands found in the metro macro-markets.Nice staff, helpful. A great alternative for locals not wanting to drive further. Plus, the Piedmont/Montclair demographic shouldn't notice the inflated cost doing their basic/moderate procurement of standard daily provisions. They have a deli, which I saw from afar. I missed the beer/wine section also... I'll go sometime & survey what I missed today. I'm sure there's a good selection!”
“Good people friendly store. Some of the products hella high but it's a convenience store . Overall a good selection . Hella different juices drinks and snacks. Slushies, etc.”
“I really like this place, it's super convenient, the staff has always been friendly to me, especially the owner, he special ordered some tea for my mom, and they have a delicious chicken truck in the parking lot on Mondays. My only complaints , that they're kinda pricey and they don't always have certain things I'm specifically looking for. But they do often have different things, and some I've never heard of but love.”

1906 Foothill Blvd, Oakland“I've been lucky enough to live near this place since it opened. They're one of the best things that could have happened to this neighborhood. Friendly owners who know everyone around (like everyone--they even know which houses we all live in) reasonable prices, and a fine selection of Mexican and American staples. They'll even give credit every now and then (but only to regulars, of course).”
7AM - 10PM
2900 Broadway, Oakland“When I get something I really like I make sure to buy several of them. The prices hold up pretty well to regular supermarkets. Yes the stock changes and you may not find the same item again but then again I am trying different and delicious new foods and flavors.”
“Great friendly service, respectful worker. You need to be there to experience what i am talking about .You want disapointed .My favorite store.Keep up the good work.Bless up.”
“The beauty of the Temescal Produce Market is that it’s a small organic grocery store! The staff is friendly and they have delicious produce and a great ice cream selection!”
“I had heard several recommendations about the burgers in this little market and they were right. The burger and fries I had today were excellent! All the food was fresh, fries were perfect and the service was friendly! I'll definitely make this my new burger spot. On a side note the mini market section has everything you might need on a moments notice, from snacks & ice cream to NyQuil and aspirin, although I didn't see dairy or bread items which is probably a smart thing since their 'expiration' dates are short,”
8AM - 8:30PM
5800 Bancroft Ave, Oakland“Hey they have many stuff ,if there wasn't in the hood I would have to call new Orleans...I been shopping there for 25 yrs, and have seen so much growth , from cleanses, better Customer service, they have many things some big time super market dnt have. They have became a great store.”
“For a corner store these guys have a good grasp of the preferred foods and brands people in the neighborhood want and they keep them well stocked. Prices are not unreasonable, they take EBT, and above all else are not just polite but actually friendly. They keep the place clean as well.”
“It is a great local carniceria for West Oakland with all the normal choices of meats. Prices are usually fair, but everything these days are on the rise. The quality of meat is good and service behind the counters is friendly. A clean store where you can buy all the staples of a grocery store. They also have a money sending service and a Uhaul business. It's definitely worth shopping small and local at this place.”
“Every time I stop by this Minto's, I'm always like "Damn, I need to review this place!" So, here I am...FINALLY getting to it. Love, love, looove me some Minto's! I've been to one other location on Franklin street, but this location has actually been my go-to. I come here for the meat patties and the Big Bamboo canned Sea Moss. When I'm having a craving, I'll often drive to this market on my lunch break to get my fix. The only thing is, they don't always have the patties. It's best to call beforehand but... sometimes they don't even answer the phone. I like to just show up there anyways because I love perusing the market and grabbing random snacks. They've got all kinds of Caribbean snacks and spices. They also sell frozen patties in bulk that you can heat up for later. They switch up the meat patty flavors pretty often, so don't come here expecting to get one specific flavor. Also, this location is a market and not a juice bar or restaurant like their other locations. But, it still has a lot to offer. Service is hit or miss and really depends on who's working that day. Grateful that this market is so close to my job because it always hits the spot when I'm having a craving for meat patties.”

7AM - 12AM
3710 Telegraph Ave, Oakland“Convenience store with nice selection of basic snacks and beverages from ice cream to Champagne. As a bonus, this is a great place to get smoked oysters. Access is a little awkward on account of the bicycle lane and only three parking spaces in front.”
7AM - 11PM
4100 Foothill Blvd, Oakland“This store is a local store i go to ever now and then. It is close to where i live. Lyons store has plenty of issues that i can chose from wich i want to buy. Like loto tickets in general and other items.”
“This rating is for the taco tent that has great tacos and burritos they are there working hard mostly Tuesday thru Sunday from 5 to 9 I think they serve pastore , chicken, carne asada, rice ,beans , and all the condiments and you can call in your order for pick up so stop on by its on the corner in 7 amigos market parking lot”

3426 Fruitvale Ave, Oakland“Love this place. The only negative is the area is being destroyed by criminals (like all of Oakland) so its not comfortable to take your time and shop you want to grab what you need and get out of dodge”
“Great place with unique food from Europe and former CIS countries. Thank you Sirius for being extremely helpful and kind, we discovered a lot of new things here thanks to you!”
