“I discovered this gem of a place when my car wouldn't start one late afternoon. AAA let me know it wasn't the battery and asked if I wanted it towed somewhere. The dealership couldn't look at it for a couple of weeks. When I called Ken Symer Automotive, the owner's wife took my call and assured me that my car would be in good hands. She told me to have it towed to their shop. Chris, the owner, let me know what the problem was (alternator), quoted me a fair price for the parts and labor, and had my car fixed and ready the very next morning. “I had them look over my 150000 mile lexus. To be sure all maintenance was up to date for the next 7,000 miles . they went over the car and found a few things worn out . [ that. happens at that mileage] they replaced all the worn out parts you know tye rods water pump steering pump bad tire wiper blades everything Car drives and runs like brand new. You get what you pay for at this place. And very fair They even washed and vacuumed the car pulled it right up to me it’s like is was the dealership. They inspected the car and gave a solid quote no surprises.no excusses That’s rare and special. They are a great crew.”
“This was my first time going to Granny’s Garage and definitely not the last! Carter was great, knowledgeable, and had great suggestions on the services I had done. Very fair prices on having my dct fluid, differential fluid, and rear differential bushing replaced on my 2016 Bmw M3. Granny’s had all this done in a quick timeline as quoted. “Awesome - I highly recommend this place!! David is such a great guy - so fair and helpful, and very knowledgeable about German cars. And he won't overcharge you. The air suspension on my 2018 BMW X5 malfunctioned while we were visiting SB from the Bay Area for the week and David was able to quickly diagnose & re-route the wiring (which a previous mechanic had screwed up) to correct the issue and get us back on the road the same day…and at no charge! My wife & I were so happy! So honest and fair - I will definitely be taking my car back here! I just wish we lived closer. David is simply amazing.”

“My old Lexus hybrid has been having intermittent electrical problems for years: clicking, windows/locks not working, dome light staying on and doesn't turn off, and other random things. Every time I thought I might bring it in, it would go away and I knew the mechanic would think I'm crazy. Finally during the big rainstorm the 'check hybrid engine' light came on and the power steering went out. Not good. I figured I would have to buy a new car. My husband called Salas and he asked if the floorboards were wet -- odd questions -- and sure enough, he figured it out over the phone. So impressed. Like Click and Clack. Turns out the sunroof drainage system was clogged with gunk, and it was overflowing into the fuse box, and wreaking havoc. He'd seen it before. We had it towed in, and Salas had at it for 2 days, took the interior panels out, replaced the hose let it all dry out. The wires were not damaged. They also discovered a leak in the radiator hose that we had suspected, and replaced that. They took it to the car wash, cleaned my car beautifully and checked everything was watertight. They drove it around to make sure the lights did not come back. I mean, these guys were thorough. Then he picked me up at work when it was done so I didn't have to Uber over there. I was so excited to have my car back, its been years since it was that clean. I've been driving it for a few days before writing this review, just to be sure, and it's been perfect. His wife in the office is competent and knowledgeable, too. I kind of can't wait to go back! Is that weird?? I never ever said that about a mechanic before.”
“I was visiting from Utah and the alternator in my car went out. I was hundreds of miles from any tools and no information on where to go. I don’t trust dealerships! After a referral from Autozone I ended up at Goleta Radiator and Auto Repair. Javier, you have no idea how much I appreciate your kindness and willingness to fit me in your schedule. “We experienced some unexpected car troubles on a road trip, and everyone at A-1 was extremely helpful. They were transparent, honest, kind, and quick in their assessment. They took the time to show us what was wrong and looked at multiple stores to try to find the part needed even though it was late in the day. “These guys are amazing. I was having problems with the tire. They filled it up for me and told me to keep an eye on it. Two weeks later, I came back with the same problem. They found a nail and told me they could patch it up. I came back 45 minutes later and it was done. "How much do I owe you?" I asked. "Don't worry about it. Next time" he said. Frankly, I didn't know this kind of goodwill and good service existed anymore.”
