“Don't normally (or ever) leave reviews, but there's a first time for everything. I have a 2010 VW EOS which started experiencing a few problems. After consulting two other shops for some major repairs, car still wasn't running correctly. Sputtering and random stalling persisted, which was scary for me as a 70 y.o. woman who only knows how to fill up the gas tank. Having lost confidence in the first shop and their excuses, I tried a second opinion with another shop where I've taken my car before who specialize in German cars. His estimate came to $8000!! Thought that was ridiculous but what do I know. Out of desperation, looked through an old school Yellow Pages phone book and found Collaco Auto Repair. Short story -- they literally saved me thousands, recommended only what was needed, not the fairy tale wish list of $8000 and gave my car a very thorough diagnosis so I felt reassured there were no hidden problems lurking in the car or have unexpected surprises. The $8000 work wasn't even necessary! It's only been a week, but what a difference! Car has power again and no sputtering. Everything is running normally in tip top shape. I feel confident driving again. I'm so grateful to the entire team there -- not only for their professionalism, and obvious expertise in car repair by being able to diagnose the problem so quickly, but also for their honesty, kindness and empathy. Took the time to explain what is causing the problem and listened to my concerns. As busy as they were, they still took the time to treat me as if I were the only customer and cared about me. Angelo even told me I could return my failed part to the first mechanic for a refund. Didn't know I could do that! I did and got my $$ back. I'm so grateful to them and only wish I had found them years ago. They are just genuinely good people. Thank you so much to Brandie, Angelo, and Manny. And to Marcos (the patriarch) who raised such good son and grandson.”

“Outstanding service and work! Some debris on the freeway put a hole in the bumper and broke a headlight. I had not needed a body shop before and these guys ensured I felt comfortable. They communicated often and clearly, answered questions patiently, provided a clean environment, and made my car look like new! Even detailed the car (so of course it rained the next day). I can see why they're recommended by the dealer.

I also want to mention I had an estimate from another shop that said an additional part would have to be replaced. I was skeptical, and sure enough the part was fine. So add "trustworthy" to the accolades for Advance Auto Body!”

“These guys are legit. Family owned business, honest, affordable, and pretty quick.

I handed them a bunch of money on a silver platter, I said this other company quoted me $875 to replace the engine mounts to fix this rumble I get at certain speeds.

They took a look and charged a very reasonable diagnosis fee. They told me the engine mounts are fine, it’s a bad u-joint and they could fix it for a little over $200.

I was skeptical but said go for it. Sure enough, that WAS the issue. Not only did they NOT take advantage of me, the correctly diagnosed an issue another larger company missed. They saved me from getting scammed.

My car is only worth that so I started car shopping, then I decided to take it here for a second option. They told that I didn't need the CV axel or control arms which Les Shwab said I should prioritize doing 1st, and that the struts could use replacing but I could wait if I didn't want to put the money in now. I know how stressful it is when your car suddenly acts up. I’ve been there. My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee had never given me any trouble until recently, when my coolant temp started randomly spiking. I know next to nothing about cars — no leaks under the vehicle, no visible drips on the skid plate (a term I only just learned). But when I opened the hood, my coolant was basically gone.

Not wanting to be that person stranded on the freeway with steam pouring out during rush hour, I stopped by a nearby mechanic for a quick top-off.
