“I got the jersey boy sandwich upon recommendation and it did not fail to impress. The meat is good quality. The reason I give 4 stars is because of the price is $$ for a small sandwhich. Granted it was yummy but not for the size. Do I recommend it for flavor yes. Is it worth the cost, depends if your on a budget no.”

“The first thing I noticed when I walked in is how this place smelled exactly the same as the butcher shop my grandfather would take me to as a kid in the country outside of Buenos Aires. That smell that only comes from a butcher shop that’s making the sausages fresh, cutting the beef fresh, etc. That’s how I knew this place was legit without even trying anything. I’ve since tried a few of the sausages they have and they’re amazing. Again, the taste reminds me of the taste of the sausages my grandpa would buy from this old butcher in the country. It’s a taste you only get from butchers with a true sense of craftsmanship. Reminds me of a simpler time. I highly recommend the sausages, the meatloaf, and stuffed chicken. The charm doesn’t stop there, though, Ron and his son Michael also give stellar customer service. Always a pleasure stopping by and supporting this local business.”

“Wonderful gem of a spot in an otherwise industrial area. Ingredients are sourced from sustainable local farms and the service was surprisingly delightful (my burger was cooked Medium after requesting Medium Rare and the head chef promptly offered to make it right). The tables are nestled in an open patio with dappled light. Wonderful retreat on a warm day.”

“Hands down the best sausages you can find. I've been to a LOT of butcher shops and pork stores all around the country and I really believe Taylor's is only surpassed by Michelin restaurants who make their sausages in-house and charge a bundle. The spicy Boudain are my all time fav but they also have a Swedish potato sausage that I'd never heard of before that are out of this world delicious. The Boudain like a bit lower and slower cook, holy cow (pig, I guess) these are SO flavorful and delicious. I ate 8 of them once, might have been too much. They're like a whole meal in a sausage. The Swedish potato ones are best cooked hotter, with a nice crisp on the outside. Very rich flavor and so tender and delicious. Can't rave about this place or these sausages enough. I drive ~1hr with traffic to come here and it is still 100% worth it. Great service too! Very old school vibes, they have been suppling the best restaurants in the east bay for a good min. And as soon as you taste the sausages you know why. Every time my bro comes from Europe we gotta hit Taylor's for the fridge. Check them out!”

“Eles tem picanha, o que maravilha!!! A carne deles é muito bom galera. On Sunday before watching the niners game we were craving some good meat to grill on our barbecue grill Since I live in Hercules, I wanted to go as somewhere local. Safeway is real close to me but the meat isn’t very good there. This place has great cuts. They also have meats that are seasoned and also meats that is marinated in spices and ready to be grilled. Feeling lazy and craving guacamole and salsa, they have it and make it fresh daily. So if you live in Pinole or Hercules look no further and a void the long lines at Safeway or Sprouts, this is your spot for your meats.”

“They have so many different types of meats from so many types of animals. It's pretty incredible. From baby octopus to squab, to quail, venison, Bison, chicken, Shrimp, lamb, goat, lobster tail, ox tail and many types of poultry that I've never heard of. Really nicely dressed in butcher's white coat, and I didn't feel rushed. They take courteous time to make sure they've helped you to your satisfaction. I know where to go to get great service and to find unique pieces of meats.”

“Snowflake beef? We definitely needed that in our hot pot mix for Christmas! And while we're at it, gotta try the pork belly and lamb too!All of it was high quality, *melt-in-your-mouth* meat. After waiting in line for an hour, my cousin snagged 5 lbs of fatty cow, 3 lbs of lamb and 2 lbs of pork belly and the 14 of us could barely finish half. She said it's a one man show: meat cut to order and the dude's handling the cashier portion too. Totally worth it....except this is coming from someone who didn't wait in line. Thanks, cuzzo!”

“They have nearly everything you need in this small store and the checkout line rarely has more than one person in front of you. I laugh at the people traipsing up to Trader Joe's to wait in long lines for produce that is vastly inferior to that in this store.I've seen some comments on the meat section and there is some validity. Check the pack dates, which are accurate, and if it is within the last 2 days your selection will be A+. I go here all the time for fish and chicken.”

“I've been buying from they for years. Best preserved Chinese sausages, duck legs, pork belly. Price is a bit higher than others but it's worth it. Can't get this quality on prepackaged brands.”

“This is a convenient local Hispanic grocery store with a quick casual Mexican take out spot attached. I have shopped at the grocery store which has comparable prices for the area and has a wide selection of Hispanic groceries as well as other items. They also have a good selection of produce. I have also had tacos and a breakfast burrito from the take out restaurant and both were pretty solid. Not the best I've ever had but certainly not the worst. Very convenient, quick and friendly employees. Good neighborhood spot.”

“This store is truly a neighborhood gem, and I truly underestimated it's broad selections . From the door entrance I was greeted, and offered a bag for persimmons. I purchased fresh persimmons & walnuts today. Then as I perused the store came up on a lovely well stocked meat counter. I purchased a nice thick chuck roast...cut to my desire. Perfect 1:1 assistance by the butcher. Thank you employees . Your services to me as a customer was a GCS10GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE 10/10.By the way...I sliced a few pieces off that chuck roast and pulled out the black frying pan...salt and peppered little olive oil( since there's no crisco) and sizzled it quickly...rare...omg that meat had the best flavor out of any meats I've purchased in the bay area!!! 10MG mmmmmmmmmmgood”

“DO NOT SLEEP on this halal market and deli in West Oakland. It has the rating it has for a reason! Also, it's super close to the West Oakland BART station if you ever need to be there. I was actually stopping by to stop by a Goth market event at a local brewery (to review shortly)... The market has all of the things you would expect. Nothing off there. The real (!!!) kicker is the counter-serve deli they have. The food is quite frankly some of the best Middle Eastern food I have EVER had - and at an extremely affordable price. You order at the counter and it takes a bit because they are actually making your dish fresh! I ordered two dishes. First, I had to order the lamb platter - the store is Yemeni and lamb mandi is unique Yemeni specialty. It's basically lamb, rice, spices, veggies, yogurt and all the other stuff you'd expect. The meal was absolutely delicious and massive. There were two giant pieces of lamb - that basically slid right off the bone. An absolutely amazing dish. I also come from a very lamb-meat-centric culture and I was absolutely shocked at how soft this lamb was - I've actually never experienced anything like it!!! Second, I ordered the veggie platter because it was cheap and wanted to take something home. It was pretty good - hummus, baba ghanouj, pita, falafel, rice - also all the things you would expect. Also a great, solid meal. They also give out complimentary Yemeni tea. I think it's sugared up green tea. A bit too sweet for me, but a nice touch if you're into that. There's a few places outside to sit. Though it was actually raining the day I went, so I had to eat in my car. So I guess the enjoyableness of your dining experience is a bit dependent on weather. Anyways, the food is cheap, generally very good, and the lamb mandi plate is absolutely one of the best things I have ever eaten in that part of the Bay. Highly recommended if you want a tasty, cheap, filling meal (especially if you need to fill lots of people) - to show up and grab a plate!”

“They got what you need at good prices. They’ve been in the same spot my whole life and the people inside never fail to make the community better. With how gentrified Oakland is getting it’s so reliving to have down to earth people who run an incredible market.”

“We live two blocks away and love this market for their overall selection and friendly people. Be sure to check out their homemade hummus, fresh-baked bread, and homemade Merguez sausages. The desserts they serve are a delight, too.”

“We ordered: - 8 Whole Boxes of Povi Masima We've been coming to Robert's Corned Meats to get our Povi for years, literally since I was a child. It is also the oldest corned beef company established in San Francisco as well. We only like to get our Povi from Roberts Corned Meats because the quality of it beats anywhere else. I've tried other Povi Masimas and can taste the difference. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is touching Robert's Corned Meats. The gentleman Edgar I believe was his name had helped us as we did an over the phone order for 8 whole boxes and asked them to seal each one as we were sending the boxes to family overseas. The transaction was very fast as always! Sign a paper, provide the money and wait for your boxes to come out. Boom, done! Each time we get an order, the worker always provides the service to load our car with the Povi which is such a huge plus! We really appreciate the generosity and great service each visit! This is why this place gets such a high rating, the service is top tier and the meats are top notch! The parking is super rough as it's on one of the busiest streets in the city near the freeways but trust me it's worth the struggle. There is an alleyway around the corner of the building you can park in but it is a hit or miss. It is also cash preferred/only as well! The inside of the place is always clear and neutral setting. I love that it has so many old school pictures to view! It's also very clean as well! They offer so many other meats as well, sausages, bacon, linguica, pastrami, brisket, beef tongue, pork legs and cooked meats. I might be missing a few but I'm telling you, this is the place to get your meats. It's truly worth it! There is a reason Roberts Corned Meats are still in business for so many years, they are the real deal. Thank you Roberts Corned Meats for your amazing service and items served, you've placed a mark on a lot of us Polynesians - specifically my Samoan people. The functions won't ever be the same without your Povi Masima! I hope you all look into this place and love it just as my family and folks do. You won't regret it.”

“First entering the store you're welcomed with good music unlike other produce markets spots in the location. Music definitely had me wanting to just stay there and enjoy it. Following that were the veggies/ fruit, meat and packaged goods organized in their own separate aisles and sections. First time being I there had to do a lap to get accustomed to the layout. After that I was moving throughout the aisles and even going back to already seen aisles just to take another look and what else I could grab. From asking for help and getting some chicken and carnitas the members were very involved and very welcoming. From the meat department to check out, all store members were happy to help out. The welcoming customer service and the comfort of not feeling like an outsider compared to other stores I've been to around Fruitvale. When I'm back in town this will definitely be the store to come to when I'm in need of something quick to eat or ingredients for the week. Will be back.”

“This is the only meat shop I would purchase my meats and hotpot essential. it is very small but don't let that fool you, they have all your needs from thinly sliced meat to bulk size. You just let the butcher know what you want. Their vegetables are always green and leafy, it never disappoints. The best thing, many varieties. There may be a language barrier but if they noticed you have been looking at an item for a while, they just hand you the best looking one. This weekend, I 2 packs of beef brisket and the marble on the beef was gorgeous, along with veggies, tofu and fish cakes. Everything was fresh! Let me just say, it was a delicious feast! It is hotpot season, best to come here for all your hotpot needs!”

“What an amazing find (ok, I'm a little slow!) We loved the sandwiches (ham with truffle butter and porchetta served similar to Bun Mee. However, the show stopper was the duck legs I brought home and cooked tonight. They were flavorful and meaty. I'll be asking my husband to stop by on his way home from work to pick up items from the vast array of gorgeous butchered items they had. Service was great on a Sunday. Someone cut the duck legs for me while I was waiting.”

“Cute grocery section with a decent number of uncommon items. It seemed strange to me that the meat section was so sparse. Service was quick but not terribly friendly - they hung up on me after answering my very brief question without so much as a bye, meat counter service was a bit awkward, check out was clearly not having a great day. And that was just this one visit. Sandwiches are now $18 a piece. Still delicious but still premade so the tomatoes were going a bit soggy, and only three available a day from 11-3. No Soprano on the week's menu... in fact almost the same three every day. I'm glad I went but I'll be going to Lunardi's for my big expensive sandwiches from now on.”
