“Great options in East Palo Alto. They are usually busy because they have the money orders station. The only thing I don't buy here is the meat. I usually get it elsewhere so I wouldn't be able to know if it's good or not.”

“The couple who run this store are amazing! Always an interesting selection of beers and they’re so knowledgeable about the stock. Beyond that, they were great to work with on a special order — able to source it quickly and priced it fairly. Happy to be a loyal customer!”

“I frequently visit Mountain View for business, and stay at the Hampton Inn next door. This is one of the first places I come to when I start my trips. Very convenient to pick up a bottle of wine, a few bottles of water and some snacks. The most common cashier that I encounter, who I assume is Sousa but have never asked his name, is always very friendly.”

“Artisan has long been my favorite wine store in the bay because of the amazing quality and variety of their selection. But what prompted me to write this review was the phenomenal customer service from David on my most recent trip. I had a goal to learn more about French wine growing regions and wanted to assemble a case within a target budget to help with that goal. Despite the store being busy with multiple tasting events, David enthusiastically leaped up to help with our activity. The thought he put into each recommendation, the explanations he gave of what and why, and how well he met the objective and budget exceeded any expectations I had going in. Just a fantastic experience - David and the team really know their wine and are passionate about helping customers.”

“I was impressed by the selection of frozen food options available, ranging from frozen fruits and vegetables to pre-made meals and desserts. The store also has a great selection of fresh produce and pantry staples like canned goods and baking supplies. In addition to the great selection and quality of products, the customer service is also outstanding. The staff is knowledgeable, pleasant, and eager to assist customers in any way they can.I really recommend Holly Market to anyone in need of frozen food, groceries, beverages, and other necessities. It's worth a visit whether you're stocking up for the week or seeking for something specific.”

“World Market is super fun to browse for international snacks, drinks, and tea. I love that they label the country of origin via a country flag on the price label!I was in the market for a lot of pink stuff because I am hosting a Barbie party and this place didn't disappoint. I got some cookies, Barbie cookie kits, candy, pens, and sparkling pink lemonade! There is a rewards program and they occasionally have coupons!”

“I have been to this restaurant on four different occasions when I have travelled to Menlo Park for work. I have always enjoyed the food and the wine. The servers were always very polite and attentive. Conversation with Kurt about religion and philosophy is a wonderful bonus (if not the main reason to patronize this place).”

“Sooo much to choose from here! Wine, liquor, beer, gifts for entertaining. They have items that are chilled and ready to go or to be stored. I came to get a 12 pack of beer that my friend likes. I was killing time before meeting a friend for dinner and found some sour beers I was interested in. I also scoped the Irish whiskey aisle to see so many distilleries I'm not familiar with. With going to Ireland soon, I didn't want to bring home whiskies I could get at home so I did some studying. A rep was nice enough to help me with some of his favorites. I was also going to Scotland and didn't like peat, so he gave me some other tips. Good to know!Review #79 of 100 in 2023.”

“Coming from a jurisdiction where the provincial aka state government monopoly wine & spirits agency,K&L’s selection is both overwhelming and mind blowing! In a good way… Moreover, their depth and breadth of selection would be wasted without outstandingly knowledgeable product consultants.Whether you are in search of a known brand in wine and/or spirits or an esoteric hard to find one, you’ll benefit from the expert advice. Which is communicated in an insightful, consultative manner by their down to earth staff.A real pleasure to discover and shop at!As they also offer paid guided tastings”

“So many great stores. I never make it to all of them in one trip. The Target is nice. Hobby Lobby has great prices on craft items and art sets for kids. The World Market always has unique items. The Container Store is new.”

“This place is Amazing! The food and drinks (wine) was fresh! They had truffle popcorn and charcuterie boards which is very Upscale if you know your foods! The price was awesome and very reasonable. The owner (Manuel Vasquez) and his staff was very hospitable. I will stop in everytime I am in California. I'm from Michigan and we need more Wine Bar's here. I absolutely loved the items mentioned above. My friend loved it also, even though he never heard of truffle and charcuterie. This Wine Bar also had great pizza's. Love this place!!!!”

“Ok, strange that I review liquor stores now, but this is a solid go-to for basics as needed or desired whatever. True feel of an old-school mom-and-pop liquor store. You can get 151 there (for cooking, I'm not a robot, dang dude!)”

“such a great local market and i can walk there from my house! the great thing about the local market is that they carry many local brands, which helps our small local businesses. i especially love the selection of baked goods, pies, breads, scones, all from local bakers. they do carry most of the recognized name brand produce, dairy, cereals, etc...so even if you don't want to buy local, you can still buy the nationally branded items. this market is family-owned, and you can feel that small town, local mom and pop when you're shopping and checking out. you feel welcome, unlike the larger chain supermarkets. although i walk here, there is definitely lots of parking on site and on the street.”

“Great shopping experience finding dining chairs for our apartment. Shout out to Chris for his help searching inventory, and working with the manager to allow us to buy out the floor models, too. I always find what I’m looking for, and leave inspired & wanting more. Highly recommend this location!”

“Abundant with lovely fruits! While Piazza's prices often exceed my budget for similar items found elsewhere, this charming Palo Alto neighborhood grocer offers me a delightful walk, window shopping, tasty sandwiches, and a warm, friendly staff.”

“I've been coming here a lot, and every time I go, I leave with not just a great assortment of drinks but also a heart full of warmth from the staff's sincere compassion. It never ceases to amaze me how many shelves and refrigerators are filled with such a large assortment of booze. It's a sanctuary for people who value great customer service together with a selection of spirits that are obtained locally. I highly recommend this place to anyone who values personalized attention and wants to purchase alcohol locally. It is truly the best option available. It always brings together the comfort of community with the excitement of discovery.”

“Great wine store with helpful and knowledgeable staff. We went for the wine tasting and bought some of the wines we tasted. First time there, but we'll be back.”

“Pretty basic structure for storing your wine. There is ample space and the staff is nice, but the building feels a little old and pieced together rather than built exclusively for its current purpose. I guess if you're just storing wine, you don't need much else, but it would be nice to have less of a warehouse feel and more of a wine cellar feel.”

“The store is very well-stocked, clean, and competitively priced. Great selection of snacks, drinks, and miscellaneous pantry and household items. Their deli has tasty sandwiches made with care. The location is super convenient if you're on the West Menlo/Sharon Heights/Oak Creek side of Stanford.Overall, it's a great place to shop and support a family-run small business :)”

“Cute and well managed small supermarket in a quite community in Redwood City. Great selections of everyday essentials and they sell also grab and go lunchables and snacks.”

“My beer tastes better when I buy it from All Goods Man. Maybe it's the fact that Alex gets the freshest bubbles, or that supporting small, local business shortens that amount of time my beer is tumbling around on a distro truck, or that my beer isn't hanging out for weeks on the shelf at a big box beer store. It could also be Alex's energy for the products he sells, and the curated selection of terrific beer. It might be all these things. But for me, taste is only part of the equation. I also want my money going to small, local, family-operated business when possible. And it's possible. All you need to do is go get your beer at All Goods Man. Cheers.”

“Staff is usually helpful and nice except the one older guy that is there sometimes. He doesn't understand much and is slow and not very knowledgeable at the register. Most the time they have what I went there for in stock and the prices are decent, better then most places but the liquor is a little higher then I'd like. The location is convenient and I'm always in and out and on my way.”

“The sandwich here and the hot food items here have been consistent for over 15 years. For more than 9$ you can get a sandwich and drink some chips too. The selections here are great variety compared to all others in the area. Thank you again for best service in the RWC.”

“As I mentioned on other reviews, our plans over the summer were changed at the last minute by wildfires in Canada. This resulted in us having to change plans on the hoof and for a number of reasons we ended up booking 3 nights here. The hotel is OK – I’d say it feels more like an upscale business hotel not a vacation spot (though it was very busy with families in July). For me, it didn’t feel luxurious enough in terms of the room product or location. Our first suite looked over a very busy road but we were then moved to overlook the pool which was better. The suite is more like a junior suite with the bedroom area separated by a partial wall. The sleeping area was small, however the bed was comfortable with very soft linens. There is a small hallway leading into the sitting area which is well stocked with coffee maker, kettle, fridge, cups etc. The bathroom - although it only had a single basin - had plenty of storage and had a large shower cubicle with rain-head as well as a good bath. The dressing room had very little short-hanging space but other than that was well planned. However, the staff in the restaurant are VERY good – several of them German, perfectly trained and on point. One of them recommended the excellent Village Pub for a meal one evening which we very much enjoyed. Also, if there on a Thursday do go to the bar - Thursday evenings are rather an entertaining “scene”.”

“Great store to grab coffee, donuts, breakfast burritos lunch items, bulk items, taking a minute or two to talk to the staff in the morning is always good. And, they're close by to where I live.”

“Best! I walked in about 13 years ago having moving very local. I saw a man just learning the guitar. That was guitar man from then on for me. I imagined this very obviously open honest fine man should play guitar on the top on the store, AKA Beatles. He became a sort of John Lennon for me.He and his wonderful wife ( She is sooo awesome in her humanity) shared food with me. They steered me away from trouble at times, I cannot just recommend them as just a store which I do whole heart. I recommends them as great people I have had the pleasure of knowing.”
