“My first experience bringing my senior dog to Capitola Veterinary Hospital was great! The staff was very friendly, and took time getting info about my pet. Dr. Wirga was wonderful. Knowledgeable, informative and easy to talk to. I will continue to use their practice.”
“My #1 choice vet in town. I believe her name is kim who greets and helps clients in the front very compassionate caring and helpful. All the veterinarians are highly educated and make me feel they care for my fur babies as much as I do.”
“I've seen Dr. Burtch twice now over the years for two different dogs. The first time, in 2008 for my 8-year old pit bull who was diagnosed with AIHA. After my dog survived blood transfusions and made it out of the critical stage, Dr. Burtch was our internist who facilitated my dog's treatment for the next 6-8 months. Today, my dog is back to running a few miles a day with me and is healthy as can be. Not only did my dog just love going in for her check-ups, but Dr. Burtch was always available to answer any questions and explain anything that I didn't understand. On top of that, if she didn't know an answer, she would go out of her way to research and find out what the options were. Last week, I brought in our newly adopted 10-year old GSD for a consultation on possible degenerative myelopathy. I went in with print outs of websites that were the most informative written by the vet known to know the most about this disease, and lo and behold, Dr. Burtch had printed the same things. And then evaluated my dog and went on to explain what she thought of the disease and recommended that we wait before conducting any tests. He was already showing improvement from the day I adopted him until the day I saw Dr. Burtch just with good exercise and nutrition and was no longer showing any signs of DM. We'll go back in 6 weeks for a re-evaluation. I can't say enough good things about her. If you are unfortunate enough to need specialist care, want quality care with someone who knows what she's doing and clearly cares about your animals, ask for Dr. Burtch. Your dog will thank you.”
“5 star rating for Santa Cruz Vet Hospital as they were able to get us in with a same day "walk in appt". We were on vacation out of state and our 12 year old black lab got sick from drinking brackish ocean / lake water. He was not eating for several days, not drinking much and totally not himself. He also had an arthritis flare up in his old bones from running and running on the beach. Alex Rahm, DVM was wonderful with us worried humans and so kind and gentle to our sick old dog. Alex got on the floor with Cooper our dog and started talking to Cooper like they were old friends. He did the full exam while sitting on the floor petting and calming Cooper. This Vet Alex truly loves his job!! He explained to us his reasoning for the meds he chose and how we were to administer them. Cooper is much better now. The arthritis is chronic but it will be more manageable.
What a wonderful facility we found by chance!
Thanks so much to Ales Rahm, DVM and staff”
