“We have picked out beautiful gifts for friends from Palm + Perkins multiple times. This is a great store with a fantastic selection of gorgeous home goods, jewelry, and kitchen items. We mostly stop into the store to browse and we always find many great things, but we have also ordered online to ship out of state, which has been a super reliable way to send something special to someone.”

“This is a very cute business that is located in Albany. I had walked by it several times and was in too much of a hurry to go inside. However, when I went in, the first thing I noticed was the rich green color of the plants. The shop was small, and it was filled with very happy looking plants. The sun shone into the small space and lit everything up.Then I met the wonderful people who work in this space. They were friendly and very kind. They made me feel like hanging out with them. Their dog just laid there while Dom told me their family story. They provide workshops that are open to the public, like how to take care of your plant babies and how to repot plants. You can also take classes to learn how to make art pieces with your plants. If you don’t have the time to repot—they can do it for you.If you don’t have a green thumb, you can even rent plants from them.I loved their warm and friendly vibe that they have created.”

“Great items and great pricing. Wish they had a larger selection of some items for more choices but we were still able to find items we were looking for at a stellar price!”

So it was pretty fitting that we walked into theSTONE ROOM 2 ...More like Magical Bazaar! You can turn and look a MILLION different ways inside this little Bodega and still miss something huge and Out Of This World or be ready to pay and be like yup I missed all these. So be ready to spend a couple mins or hours or days exploring this MAGICAL place¡ ? ✨️We got each other some things¡”

“Had a really nice experience buying a gift for a friend. The person working (Max) was really friendly and helpful and he wrapped the gift way better than I could've, for free. I'm about to go back to get another gift and figured I'd leave a review”

“I didn’t go inside because they were closed during their supposed open hours (Saturday at 1:50). Perhaps an emergency came up? It looks cool from the outside though”

“I absolutely love coming here to get permanent jewelry! They have the cutest, daintiest chains and charms, the customer service is always great, and their new location is fabulous. Perfect stop on a brunch and bling Saturday morning with the girls. The rings in the picture are new but we also got the bracelets here.”

“This is an AMZING place! Very very nice statues, wood carving frames (huge ones), decorative doors and much more for your backyard, front yard entrances etc. We were looking for a Budha statue for our backyard and this was THE BEST PLACE. We looked at many places in the Bay Area and glad we found Gardensia. If you like solid rock (not those made from a mold) statues, this is the place for you! Great customer service as well. T( store owner) was extremely helpful and courteous! Responds very promptly to vm / text messages. The statue we chose was 450 pounds of beautifully carved volcanic rock and T gave us details of someone who would transport it. Everything went smoothly and the Budha was installed with out any issues! It’s the focal point of our backyard!”

“I adore this place. Each time I come I spend more time than I planned to because of the great selection. What is nice is you can spend a lot of money on fancy tiles but they also have excellent deals on more modest (but still gorgeous) tiles. Some of the small 1x1 tiles were even on sale for 50 cents each. I'll post pictures of our fireplace when it's all done- we are so excited about the tiles.”

“Both Julian and Desirée are incredible to work with. They are genuinely passionate and knowledgable of midcentury furniture and were extremely helpful when I was shopping for a lounge chair. I purchase a 60s falcon chair and Julian took the time to give me the background of the chair along with maintenance tips. I can't thank them both enough. I would do business with Midcentury Mobler again without any hesitation. I highly recommend it!”

“My husband and I just received a special order teak round coffee table. It is gorgeous and well made. Not only is the quality exceptional but the service has been unsurpassed. Tom, the manager, was concerned that the tapered legs might be damaged if transported in my husband's SUV as we had planned. After trying to place it in a larger SUV of theirs without success, Yo, the owner, graciously hired some trusted people to transport it safely for us in a large vehicle and to place it on our patio where it will live. I cannot tell you how happy we are with the piece and with the care and generosity of the service.”

“We've been loyal customers for more than 20 years and just can't say enough good things about Tim and his whole crew. Truly good people and beautiful craftsmanship!”

“Bought two small tansu chests and a metal stand to support them stacked on top of each other. Love their look and their finish. Drawers open and close easily, and there is a locking mechanism on one of them. Also on another visit bought a stool shaped like a goldfish, painted red. Get lots of compliments on it. Good quality items, beautifully displayed in the store and in the windows, and courteous customer service.”

“We have bought several pieces from Chris and Kobe over the past few years, and we have always been more than happy. The chairs and loveseats are extremely comfortable, as well as being elegant in appearance and design. Every piece that we bought has been brought up to like-new appearance, using authentic finishing materials. We have, also, brought in pieces that we found elsewhere, and had Chris refinish and repair minor damage, and the results exceeded our expectations. Chris is also very knowledgeable of mid-century modern furniture designers, as well as suppliers of replacement parts (such as chair springs). Despite his extensive knowledge, Chris is very approachable and not the least bit condescending. If we had a complaint, it would only be that we are always tempted to buy more exquisite pieces of furniture, when ever we visit the warehouse.”

“Love the pieces I have purchased from Katz Modern. When I return to California this year, I'll definitely visit the store again. I can honestly say, I've never been disappointed in any purchase that I've made there over the years!”

“Mike is a fantastic teacher! Took the beginner class tonight and I learned a ton of techniques that I wouldn't have learned from youtube videos. He focuses a lot on building a good foundation and good habits so you can have a better practice as you learn and start playing songs. The class flow was fun and I barely felt the 2 hours pass. I would definitely recommend attending a few classes. There's so much to learn and absorb from the simplest techniques.”

“Big fan of their bi-annual warehouse sale (one in spring and the other during holiday). If you follow their FB group you'll get notified of the exact dates and a preview of what they are offering Overall Thoughts Great place to stock up stuff for the house at a bargain (although still expect to pay a good amount)”

“Came here with my parents in search of an arm chair and found one I absolutely love! Even just the browsing process was fun for all of us as they have a pretty unique and modern-leaning collection. Both the men working there were super nice. Price for my piece was reasonable, about half off the new retail price which I looked up later.I parked around the corner assuming there would be none in front, but there were a few empty spots in their small lot as well. I’ll be back! :)”

“This is my new favorite shop in the area! Have found wonderful deals and have gotten to class up my home. Love their large baskets and light fixtures. Lucked out and walked in during a week they were clearing out getting ready for their next shipment and everything was an extra 50% off other than bedding and wallpapers. Was able to bring home a beautiful console unit for 1/4th the full retail price! Whenever you know you want something make sure to take it to the front and have them put it aside for you, things go fast here! But keep coming back if you see something that got taken, they get new things and I've gotten second chances for most of what I've seen there before.”

“A Priori is one of my most favorite stores. It is truly gorgeous with so many unique and perfect items. I go in to purchase one gift and always leave with a few extra beautiful things that were too special to pass by. It's all put together and displayed wonderfully, so the vibe is inviting and relaxing, making it a cheery spot that's easy and fun to stroll through. The owner and staff members seem to have a great time curating everything, really "getting" and caring about their community. I would encourage a stop by this extraordinary store anytime you can.”

“This is quite a unique store, it is an experience. That's for sure. The way I feel when I enter the store is almost difficult to describe. I just feel at peace. The items are carefully selected, each piece thoughtfully designed by the artists. Though a bit on the pricier side, I find that I have not regretted a single item I've purchased from here. Every year, I save up to get a nice (fancy) one of a kind item from the gardener, other times throughout the year, I come in to get soaps and lotions or stay for the good vibes. Its peaceful.I just love love love that this place exists and I get to go!”

“Ellington and French is a neighborhood gem. It is the most delightful little gift shop, and it always smells wonderful the moment you walk through the door. My mother had received an email about their holiday champagne sip and shop sale, so of course we had to go! We were greeted with champagne and chocolate, and it looked like a winter wonderland inside. All of their merchandise is so cute, it was hard not to buy the entire store! We came away with some sweet gift and stocking stuffers for family and hearts full of holiday cheer! If you're ever in the market for a little birthday, holiday, house warming, or "just because" gift; or if you just need a joyful pick me up, stop by Ellington and French!”

“Since moving to Sacramento this is now my closest cb2. I’m a big fan, but since cb2 never displays their entire collection in stores or keeps stock of furniture in store most of my purchases are online. The Berkeley location is a nice size but the drive from Sacramento is too far for in-store pickup effectively making it more expensive. The return policies on shipped items (that you’ve never seen) is not good. Retuning will cost you even if never opened or just took a peek. They deduct return shipping and don’t refund shipping to you. Hard to understand how non locals can realistically shop there. Considering Sacramento is top relocation destination for Bay Area residents it’s surprising they have no presence here. On the plus side the Vacaville Crate&Barrel Outlet often has a large cb2 selection.”

“Design within reach is one of my favorite go to stores while I'm shopping in the Berkeley area. Yes, this is an upscale Store, but even as the name of the store implies many things are definitely within reach! As a Hermann miller, faced store, you know right off the bat that anything you purchase is going to be of superior quality, not to mention having a great warranty to go along with it. The staff is always so very welcoming and friendly, and my recent shopping excursion was no exception. If you're not familiar with the work of Herman Miller, I implore you to explore each and every piece. The Eames lounge chair is my favorite! Plus, I love the fact that this chair is also made for taller people such as myself. When you sit in this chair, it's like sitting on a cloud. You'll feel absolutely warm and fuzzy. They also offer a variety of sit and stand desks that with a push of a button, can be adjusted for practically any height. This is absolutely spectacular, especially with so many people working from home these days. You definitely should consider this desk for your home office needs . A big thank you to Lisa and her staff for helping us out recently with our purchase. We greatly appreciate you answering all of our questions, and for bringing your knowledge and expertise to the conversation in order to help us make a decision.”
