“I’ve been getting my synthetic oil changed here for the past four years. They’re affordable, friendly, and on time every time. They even add air to my tires and clean my windows without mentioning anything. Great business with really decent people working there.”
“I bought a used Subaru WRX. It died the day I got it (sad). I had it towed to a repair shop to replace the obvious problem (a broken serpentine belt). They said that it was running rough (gross misfires on all cylinders) but couldn't figure it out. I had it towed to another garage. They couldn't figure it out. I had it towed to The Model Garage. They did figure it out: party of the broken serpentine belt got into the timing belt.
The Model Garage solved the problem and did so with good communication and reasonable (low even?) costs. I will return there the future.”

“I've had a Gen 4 (2010-14) Subaru Outback serviced at Art's for the last three years or so.
Their hourly labor rates are in line with independent mechanics in the area, and the shop insists on using high-quality parts (which may make their services slightly more expensive, but is worthwhile).
They are thoughtful and transparent about what maintenance needs to be done, and they advise against maintenance that might be cost-ineffective. For example, Art's recently discouraged me from having an A/C diagnostic after I told them that having super-cold A/C was not that important to me.
They also clearly think carefully about maintenance schedules. For example, my Gen 4 Outback is driven less than 5,000 miles/year -- and Art's consistently has been helpful in advising what maintenance should be considered on a time-based schedule (as opposed to a mileage-based one).
Don't be deterred by the fact that they don't allow for online appointments -- calling them is a breeze, it's helpful to talk to one of their service managers, and they can usually accommodate you for work within 7-10 business days or so.
Art's is what an independent mechanic *should* be, which is a rare thing.”
“Nathan and his crew are a case study in how a business succeeds and thrives-winning over customers one at a time-through a knowledgeable, communicative, responsive owner, backstopped by work performed with integrity and fairness.
Nate diagnosed my Insight issue sur place-by a visual and audial inspection and later confirmed his instinct by putting the car on the hoist and performing thorough diagnostics. I must contrast this process with the over wrought layers of managers and technicians at a local Honda dealership-who in my case, misdiagnosed my issue and unconscionably provided an estimate of repairs of 6K. Nate’s diagnosis and work performed was just over 1/6th cost and definitively nailed the solution. An astonishing first experience with NGG!

They did great work, it was on time, and they were communicative, but not too communicative (not a bunch of post visit email solicitations, etc.). Their prices were also very competitive and reasonable. When you visit you don't pay extra for what I can only describe as "consumer experience", which truly appreciate. Overall great visit.”
“Absolutely incredible experience working with Griffin. Curly is the man, such a fantastic dude, super transparent, honest, knowledgeable, reliable, the list goes on. Everyone else I dealt with was the same. I felt welcomed the minute I walked in, and everyone was friendly and we even got a few jokes in. The car is a million times better now. Quality of work is top notch, and it was cool to see some of the unique fixes that were made to solve weird issues. Also noticed in multiple cases that small extra work was done (like tidying cables) just because the tech was in there. That’s awesome stuff. “When the insurance company sent our car to their body shop, they decided to test to fix a totaled car for cheap and lowballed the estimate. We wanted a second opinion.
Golden Gate Collision was very professional and accommodating when we had to transfer a vehicle from the other body shop which tried to undercut the damages to our vehicle. Paul was fantastic and lightning fast in putting together an estimate that more accurately depicted the damages to the vehicle. He he was always ready willing and able to provide updates. Paul and his team accomplished in 2 days what took the other body shop took weeks to even get in motion.
