Our dog was in so much pain 3 weeks ago, at night of course, WVRC was the only option I was given from every vet I called locally... I was so glad we took him there! They took him back right away, had him diagnosed and a treatment plan in place within 10 min. He had slipped a disc in his back (he's 15 yrs old) couldn't walk and was crying in pain for 4 hours! The medicine they gave him gave him relief right away, and Within a Few days he was doing better and 2 weeks later he was pretty much back to normal! WVRC was very efficient, very knowledgeable, and explained everything in detail so we could understand, even about an ongoing cough our dog has had for years that the. vet said could be treated when our vet said it couldn't! Dr. Fiddy was great! I can't recommend them enough!

Was a little disappointed when my ferret was literally in agony and I begged this location to just put her down, they said they "can't" and that I had to make my poor baby struggle for an hour long car ride to get to the MKE location.. I get there are "protocols" as I've worked at vets and shelters and gone to lots of vet camps, it doesn't take all that to know that they are capable to help me.. I just wish they would make exceptions like real human-beings sometimes when it's REALLY needed. I'd they're so worried about getting in "trouble", there are contracts you can have owners sign. I had to bring A couple animals here, which they were WONDERFUL with, but i was incredibly disappointed in them when they cared more about "protecting" themselves than actually Caring for a patient who was suffering AND I'm a regular at this clinic, and I refer people here as well. But they need to think about their protocols and they need to maybe make some changes that prioritize the comfort and well-being of animals, because that's their job. Again, I KNOW how this stuff works, I know there's a difference between a animal hospital and a small animal/exotic hospital, but when it comes to someone's beloved pet/family member who is dying anyways, they need to reassess their policy because they COULD have helped me, but instead of doing anything they could for my baby girl, they sent me an hour away to another location where I had to wait in line as it was, so my girl was miserable for HOURS. Granted,I cherished the short time I had left with her, but I have so much guilt not being able to give her peace and comfort HOURS sooner than when she received that care.. Other than that, I love the staff and I appreciate whqy they've done for me and my animals so far.. just wish there would be SOME clinic around here that didn't charge $500-$600 to put your loved one to sleep. I think pet owners are in such a rough state at this point and they'll do anything for their little fur babies, it feels like they take advantage of the vulnerability of the anxious pet owners. Find a way to charge less for us to get our babies ashes back.. most people can't afford that and asking for that when you're literally putting my pet to sleep, seems so wrong. And this is everywhere you Go. Something needs to change.

Update: First off, I was told by the vet that treated my cat, she would let the manager know what happened and they would call me to discuss the matter. She said she would either call me Monday or Tuesday. 5 days and counting... Haven't heard from anyone yet. I tried calling today, but the receptionist said that the manager wasn't in and could she take a message. I asked her when would she be in, and she said "she didn't know."So, apparently, the staff doesn't know their manager's hours. Never heard of that one before. Yeah, I can tell you care so much about your "customer service."Most unprofessional vet I've ever been to. Since my cat was throwing up all day, I had to take her here. The two "receptionists" there, one in particular was very odd, to say the least, with her inappropriate, peculiar comments and constant giggling. She definitely seemed like she was out to antagonize because I reacted to her snarky comments. But the worst was while my husband and I were waiting for the vet to examine our cat, the "receptionists" decided to cackle to each other about how much they dislike cats. They were brazen enough to do this right in front of us while we were at the receptionist desk, like we weren't even there, and another time while we were sitting in the waiting area. WAT?Apparently, they never heard of a time and a place, common sense and respect. And since you "work" at a vet, to keep your opinions about how much you dislike certain animals to YOURSELVES while customers are sick with worry about their pets. Absolutely disgusting and beyond the pale.Do yourselves and try to go to a vet that has a professional staff and will treat you with respect while you're distraught with worry about your pet.

Nothing about this facility is 3-star: the knowledge, professionalism, compassion and understanding, cleanliness, everything. Wonderful, first-class animal care and treatment.Charlie is the love of my life and I could not have been more at ease during those stressful few days that he stayed overnight. Every single interaction was kind, patient, and understanding. I didn't feel bothersome calling multiple times a day about his status or visitations. I didn't feel judged when I sobbed in the lobby during check-in or handed him back after visiting with a French-phrased farewell. My concern for Charlie was so overwhelming that I was slow processing the slew of new (and important) information being thrown at me but it was repeated or rephrased until I was able to properly understand. Thank you, WVRC!

The workers are very nice but whoever runs this place is quite souless and money hungry. I had to make a $1400 deposit before they did anything to help my cat who needed resuscitation. $400 for a unsuccessful resuscitation. I'd like to know how much it costs you to attempt that? $180 for a 5 minute consultation am I speaking to Jesus? I was there 30 minutes and got charged $850 for basically a cremation. Please don't reply to this with your copy pasted condolences and speech about not getting government subsidies. Just change your prices to something more affordable and honest. As for the workers I hope you continue saving pets and preferably find a better place to work.

After spending three days in a row at Harris Pet Hospital with my very ill dog, getting xrays and ultrasounds and being sent home yet again with fluids, I took it upon myself to seek a second opinion. I headed to WVRC where their ultrasound immediately identified a large ulcer perforating my dogs stomach and blocking off her intestines. They were able to perform surgery, ultimately saving her life. I am grateful for their competent and caring doctors.

It’s been hard for my wife and I to even want to bother leaving a review. Here I am doing it .To warn others if you are in an emergency situation at any time with you pet / best friend/ family member unfortunately you don’t have any options after hours other than this horrible uncaring place. Our dog was severely injured and his jaw was basically hanging off his face and bleeding horribly. Six hours later with only one update and absolutely no help to my dog except a pain med sent us on our way .We spent the next morning trying to stop his bleeding and as soon as possible called his vet .Thankfully they did what they could to help him and referred us to a surgeon which took him the next morning.Thankfully he is on the road to recovery with no thanks to WVRC absolutely horrible experience that nearly cost my dog his life .

Horrible experience. I get there are emergencies but when you sit there for over 5 hours and are still waiting, I left. The excuse given was they needed another technician. Lack of communication, lack of respect and lack of urgency. Would not recommend unless you want to sit there the whole day and be disrespected. Animals are family too.

I cannot thank the staff of WVRC enough for their professionalism, compassion and empathetic care that they provided my very sick 10 year old German Shepherd named Greta on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 11:15 pm.Greta has always been a very healthy, happy and active dog during her 10 years of life, but the past 2 months she had been losing energy, lacking enthusiasm, drinking massive amounts of water and sleeping most of the day. She was very lethargic Saturday evening and I chose to take Greta to WVRC in Somers to see if they could treat what had been ailing her.I was fortunate to be helped as soon as I arrived by the very polite, empathetic & professional staff. Within minutes Greta was examined by a Dr. on duty and I was informed Greta had an aggressive tumor that was hemorrhaging internally. The Dr. gave me the option of surgically removing the tumor but at Greta’s age of 10.5 years and her weakened state the chances of a full recovery would be a challenge for her.We ended up euthanizing Greta that same evening, sadly. The staff and Dr. were extremely caring and compassionate. It was the most caring experience I’ve ever had with any Veterinary Clinic. I’ve had a total of 7 dogs in my life.WVRC is an asset to the Kenosha/Racine area. The end of life care they provided for my companion the last 10 years helped me tremendously during a very difficult, unexpected and unanticipated crisis.I thank the staff of WVRC for caring for me and Greta during a very difficult time and helping me make a tough and dignified decision concerning my best friend these past 10 years. I Thank you.Rick Berns

Don't even bother unless your pet is actively dying. took my dog there after I thought he ate something, took them 15 minutes to even take him back and check his vitals. after that, we sat there for 4 hours with only 2 non critical patients in front of us with no updates on when we might get in. when I finally asked, they said it would be another hour before they saw us. I could have had a regular appointment at my vets by then. also called to ask a question about medication my vet gave us as my regular office was closed, and was told they couldn't answer any questions cause I hadn't gotten the meds there. what's the point of being a 24-hour emergency vet if you're not going to help when it's needed.

This is a horrible place!! No compasion whatsoever!!They had me surrender my pup that got hit by a car because I couldn't afford payment in full to get x-ray done on his leg. Racking up the price telling me it could be minor may just need a cast or have major surgery with pins and plate put in. Left crying they could care less that they took our baby away from us. I had to explain to my kids they wouldn't treat him unless I gave him up or made payment in full. They basically gave me no choice. Of course I wanted him to be taken care of that's the reason I brought him in. I had money just not in full. I will never forget how I was treated. As if I was a bad pet owner just because I couldn't afford to pay their thousands of dollars up front that I didn't have. My kids never believed me that I had to give him up so he could get treated. They honestly thought he died and I just said that that to cover up his death.

Amazing. Everyone there was fantastic from the moment we walked in the door and the multiple follow-up phone calls I gave them afterwards for advice on what to do next. All of the staff members were welcoming, reassuring, and most importantly, extremely kind. We brought our dog in who was having stomach issues and the care was provided quickly and everything was explained to us very well by multiple staff members who made sure we were ready to take him home. We've been to emergency clinics before and had very bad experiences with rude staff, so we were worried about going to another one but everyone in this facility was top-notch. BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped us and took my phone calls for the next twelve hours to give me advice on the next steps. Truly outstanding.

My dog (Winnie) was having Hematochezia and was diagnosed with Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome (AHDS). The wait was long due to there only being one Physician, Memorial Day Weekend, and her vitals were stable but the staff kept her comfortable, monitored her the whole time, and kept me informed while waiting our turn due to the patients that came in before us and any emergent cases. She ended up having to be hospitalized for 24hrs and they called me with updates regarding her lab results and overall condition for peace of mind and my girl is now home and doing much better! I can’t thank the staff enough for their hard work on a busy weekend, the care they provided, and making Winnie and myself feel comfortable and valued.
