“Have stayed here several times over the years. Very clean, comfortable rooms & public areas. Free breakfast had different choices everyday. Pool/spa. Bar. Right across from Torpy Park. Easy walking distance to downtown Minocqua.”

“Rooms: We stayed at two different spots: Beacons South and the main Beacons as part of a family stay.
Beacons South is very much a motel. Beds were ok, but space was small and the bathroom would be extremely non-handicap friendly. Not the best set-up and not hotel-like. Pretty dated.
The actual Beacons is fantastic! The suites are comfortable and have great access to amenities and the lake front.

Nearby activities: Rented a pontoon boat and had a blast with the family! Fire pits on the lakefront are great and we enjoyed some perfect weather on the porch.

Walkability: Easy drive or walk into town, about 12min either way you go! Several paths nearby for walking

Noteworthy details: Beacons vs Beacons South is night and day. Stay at the main Beacons!”

“I go here for the fish fry and a drink once in a while. Right on the shore of Squirrel Lake with a few docks to park at. Home town vibe with a laid back atmosphere. Food is always good and drinks are quick to the table.”

“Loved our stay there, though there was one thing that was disappointing, the check-in time was 4:00pm. We had people traveling and would have really loved being able to get into our room by at least 2:00pm when asked for an early check-in I was told it was doubtful because you know this is the north woods. Ok whatever that means. Our room must actually been the last one cleaned because we weren't able to get in until exactly 4:00 pm. I was disappointed because you actually have less then 20 hours in your room, check out is 11:00am. We ordered pizza from the pub and it was really good and the price was very reasonable, the little water park was nice as well. We would stay there again, just know that it's definitely going to be a late check-in.

Rooms: We loved that we were able to have a room big enough for our whole family three queen beds and a sleeper couch, plus fireplace.

Food and drinks: We just had the pizza, which was very good

Noteworthy details: Loved that the floor was wood, no carpet”

“Guess I lucked out because I had no issues with this hotel unlike so many reviewers. This was a business trip and I had no interest in amenities like the pool. I bring my own food so I didn't try the free breakfast but what I saw were pre-wrapped standard muffins and bagels like you would get at the gas station This is a no-frills place but the front desk guy was very accommodating and responsive. My room was clean, air quality was good, no mold in my room (I'm allergic to it so I would know), carpet was fairly clean, no nasty fragrance/perfume in the place or in the linens which were clean, the window opened which I always appreciate. My room faced a wooded area so it was very quiet. I never felt unsafe there. There is a QuikTrip and a Mexican restaurant across the street.”
