“Ryan and his supervisor were a BIG help on getting me and my son into a different rental when the rental we had originally got in our hometown in Indiana got a flat on the way back to Indiana from Minnesota where we had gone for vacation. The car we got put into for the remainder of our trip home was a very nice vehicle and def nicer than what we originally had. I want Ryan, his supervisor, and this location to know we appreciate all your help in our unexpectedly frustration situation with the car rental.”
“My experience with Enterprise on the east side many years ago was awful, so I was hesitant to rent with Enterprise again. But this experience could not have been better. Natalie was seriously amazing and made my pick up a breeze! She was courteous, professional, and went through the process quickly and made it really easy to understand the entire rental process. “This experience was definitely a positive one for me. The service in picking up the truck was great and the truck was in stellar condition - actually brand new. Also, whoever helped me on the phone before the rental for the confirmation worked with me to make sure I had the right sized truck for what we needed. I have rented from Enterprise truck before and, while I cannot say that I haven't had any issues, the customer service has always been great. I recommend them highly over other companies.”
“We LOVED working with Amy at Vacation Designers! She helped us book our 2 week long honeymoon trip and she made it SO easy and helpful. While my husband and I planned our wedding, it was nice having someone who loves their job helping with our travel needs/wants for the honeymoon and knowing we didn't have to worry/stress about it. 1136 E Washington Ave, Madison“I don't own a vehicle but one weekend a month I rent a car to run errands and I always choose this location. There has been issues just about every visit. This last time for example my reservation was cancelled. I didn't cancel it so I don't know why it happened but I was able to make another reservation for the same price so it was fine. Other times what I was charged didn't match what my confirmation said it would be and I've gotten a car that was almost on empty. The reason I still rent here is Korinthia. She is always the one working when I rent and she is very kind and always has a smile on her face. She reassures that any issue will be fixed and if it can't be fixed at check-in, she always resolves the issue the day after I drop the car back off. Any monetary discrepancy I have she tells me will be fixed after drop off, and it always is! Never questions any issues I've told her about, instead she takes care of it and it is much appreciated. My one critique is there really needs to be a manger available until closing time. Because of my job, I always rent on fridays at 515pm-ish. They are open til 5:30 but a manager isn't available after 5pm. I think many of the problems that I've had could be solved faster or at pickup if there was a manger at least available by phone until they actually close.”
“I think a lot of the issues that people have with Budget are not the fault of this location. The corporate phone numbers and support are worthless, but again, that's not the fault of the people at this location.I was originally charged an extra day for my rental and after calling the corporate customer support number four different times, I found that they were all helpless. So, I called this location (where I dropped my truck off) and the kind person who answered solved my problem within five minutes.Would've been five stars if I wasn't charged the extra day, but they were very helpful in getting the issue resolved quickly, so 4/5.”

31 University Houses, Madison“I first signed up for a Zipcar membership in Madison, WI, and generally had very positive experiences there. When I moved to Boston and had a look at all these reviews I was kind of dreading the occasions when I would really *need* to rent one. I just figured, well, in a major city things are bound to be more chaotic. But I've rented 3x now with them and I was very happy with all of my experiences. I did have to contact customer service for each rental to deal with some issues (e.g., locked gate for returning the car, previous renter very late), but I got through very quickly to someone, and each of the people I spoke with was super helpful and very friendly. *However*. . . it's important to go into this with sensible expectations and to be prepared to change things up if needed. For my most recent rental, the person who had the car before me was stuck in traffic and eventually we had to switch to another car--not the company's fault, that just happens. For my trouble, I was offered a significant discount, which I appreciated, mostly because it allowed me to take care of a lot more errands by having the car for longer. In terms of renting strategically, you can do the following: (1) try to rent a vehicle that's in a less busy neighborhood, less usage on the car; (2) check out the vehicle in person beforehand to see if it's pretty beat up and more likely to present problems--also to figure out where the car is parked, which is not always easy to figure out; (3) try to choose a vehicle that does not have a lot of rental time before or after to avoid being delayed and to allow you to extend time if needed. To be honest, if I had someplace important to be (wedding, business meeting), I would either not rent a Zipcar, or have a back-up plan. Customer service: it's quite possible you may end up speaking with someone who is not in the U.S., not shocking that they're outsourcing. But the people I spoke with had perfectly good English, and I found them very pleasant. You would think from reading this whole string of reviews that literally everyone who rents a Zipcar has some kind of nightmarish experience. I'm going to guess that anyone who has a terrible experience is much more likely to post here?”
