“We stayed here over the weekend for a staycation. This was the first time we've stayed at Hotel Indigo and it was awesome. The Executive King room was large and comfortable with lots of unique touches. The staff did a great job of making sure we felt comfortable and well cared for. We will definitely stay here again and recommend Hotel Indigo for family and friends looking for a great Madison Hotel.Food & drinks: The onsite restaurant is excellent. They have a really good menu as well as lots of seasonal cocktails to try out.”

“I went to the Jazz Night----5 stars!! Delightful people, excellent music, nice charcuterie board, some nice wine choices but I wouldn't have minded trying more than one chardonnay. Beautiful place, they showed me some of the rooms and they are historic, comfy, inviting! Need to take my wife sometime. Had no idea the Jazz Nights are monthly but was delighted to find out.”

“If you're looking for a different kind of hotel, this is it. Unique, vintage & super clean. Definitely a different kind of experience. I stayed in room 21 which was huge. A different kind of stay in a historical building that's definitely worth it. In a great location, you're across the street from the lake and can easily walk to many different activities. 3 restaurants/bars right on the hotel property. You get 2 drink tickets upon check in if that's your thing. They do offer breakfast, I didn't partake. Plenty parking right onsite. I would definitely stay here again.Only 2 negatives - the train woke me starting at 4am, the heat didn't work so well.I could see it being noisy during warmer months as it's located on a busy street.”

“Really loved our stay in down town Hampton Inn. Perfect location, walking distance to UW Madison campus, the water, and downtown restaurants & night life! Clean rooms, friendly service, and nice pool!”

“Fun place to stay. There is a pool table in the lobby. Very modern. Not a lot of carpet anywhere. Our room was clean. Lots of smooth surfaces, easy to clean. TV controller wasn’t great.”

“We had a great stay at this hotel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be staying here again if we are in the area.”

“We were overall very pleased with our experience here. Room was pretty well cleaned upon arrival. Lots of storage space and loved having a fridge and microwave in the room for snacks for the littles. Pool area was nice-not too big but not too small. Breakfast had a great variety of options for food and beverage. Service was prompt and courteous. Hotel location was easy to get to and event space was great! We would stay here again.Personal prefernece: beds and pillows were not the most comfortable. The pillows were small and not ideal to sleep with. And the bed itself was just generally uncomfortable-even our kids said they didn't like the beds ”

“Our Legatus chapter had its February meeting there. The food was delicious and the staff were very kind and attentive. The room set up was nice and the IT guy was very helpful to our speaker.”

“My room was clean, perfectly maintained (everything appeared new and well-constructed), and fully equipped with all standard amenities. Bed was comfy, as always for Hampton Inn. I love staying at Hamptons because the chain is consistent; you always know what you're going to get.”

“For a quick weekend meeting this Hilton property was convenient and clean. Our room was larger so there was room to do our yoga in the morning. Breakfast was the standard powdered eggs and sausage, coffee was ok and of course the requisit waffle machine. Breakfast room was clean as was the eating area. Highway was right outside the window but didn’t hear a sound from that, which was lovely.”

“Pretty much a standard hotel. In walking through the front door your first hit by the chlorine smell from the pool. On one side is the pool on the other side is the bar. You get to the front desk straight in front of you and they're nice enough. The bar stays open until 10:00 p.m. so those late night drinkers are going to be disappointed. No valet service or bring in the bags to the room for you. You get to the room and it's a standard hotel room, to thin but the tables, TV, mirrors, are new. You get. I never knew water came in white with a fuzzy head, bring your own water. The rooms are very well insulated and soundproof but the windows are not. The interior rooms face the pool and the reception so all the kids in the pool noise came straight up to us. I don't know what the outside rooms are like but the views are not great and the neighborhood is a little dangerous. The mall is right across the busy road but I would take a car and the Chinese grocery store is right next to the mall. It was close to where we needed to go, about 5 minutes away but Madison traffic is a little difficult. We had to travel at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday so we only skid on the gravel once, spun the tires once, got turned around once, and ran over somebody trying to cross the busy road to get into the hotel only once. it's pretty bad.”

“Beautiful decor, really nice update to Union South in general! Definitely fits the space well, true to UW-Madison. Make sure to get a scoop of Babcock ice cream while you're there!”

“Attended a conference with a breakfast buffet. Space was adequate, buffet was OK, but kind of lackluster. Staff were nice and seemed on top of things. I commuted so didn't stay in a room.”

“We love the excellent service, beautiful rooms, and amazing view of the Capitol. Thank you to Luis for upgrading our rooms in celebration of my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday!!”

“Stayed one night a room with 2 double beds. We were 3 adults and had plenty room. Bath and room amenities were good. Like that we were able to use our Netflix acct in room and watch shows.Location is great and we got a view of the Capitol building. Everything was very walkable with plenty options right by hotel or else withing a stones throw of state street. Also had breakfast at 'Audrey's'. Service and ambiance was very nice. Did not visit the bar during our stay but the place was busy and every bar stool taken. The bar tenders were busy and keeping their patrons happy.Parking is extra and cost us $25 a day. That was unexpected but is what it is.Would I stay again: sure but I will probably look for something that includes parking, if such a thing exists.”

“Beautiful Historic Hotel with nice rooms. Very pleasant staff and a big Thank You to Judy. She went out of her way to make sure my friends and I have everything we needed...even some tools to work on a motorcycle. Breakfast was delicious and our server was excellent. They truly deserve more than 5 stars. Can't wait to come back in the fall.”

“Not too Bad, other than people talking in hall after hours (meaning Quiet time) & Doors slaming, you know how you open the door & just let it close on it's own ? & this is in the morning when you're trying to get that extra Hour ? Other than that it was Ok.”

“Excellent! Towels are lovely! I like the dark color wash cloth for face with makeup words on it. Sunday, we were taking showers between 7:45 - 8:45 am, and the water never got hot or even lukewarm, including the water in the sink. It was difficult to shave.Rooms: The room was clean and very comfortable.Nearby activities: It is nice that you are close to Erin's Snug Irish Pub. It's easy to get back to after leaving Camp Randall after a Badgers football game!Food & drinks: Coffee is really good. Thank you.”

“Clean rooms, nice staff, and overall a great stay for the price. The pool area and hot tub were nice. Breakfast was above average for this type of hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area. The only downfall was that our hallway on the third floor smelled like dirty carpet/wet dog. But our room was clean and smelled great.”

“Great helpful staff, super friendly! Stayed in a lovely room, very clean..felt safe with cameras in hallways...was able to stay for an extended time for an excellent price! Neighborhood was a bit dicey but location was close to all major highways and had private parking area...a true blessing to have an extended spot to call home on such short notice! -Thanks again Carl !Noteworthy details: Kind, friendly staff that were very accommodating they made me feel safe and welcome ?”

“The only elevator isn't working. Front desk staff must be used to telling guests to carry their luggage up to the third floor, because there wasn't any sort of apology for the inconvenience. The room keys didn't work properly. Front desk explained that the locks are installed upside down and have to be lifted. The room is okay, but the price charged for such a mediocre hotel is crazy high. Definitely not worth the cost. We will avoid the Staybridge brand and this location.”

“The room was a decent size for the price, my son and I got to breakfast an hour after it opened and there was no more pancake mix but we still had oatmeal. My only real complaint is you have to make sure you push the door all the way closed because if you don’t the door will remain open and bypassed will not hesitate to look inside your room. Also the bathroom fan didn’t work and was very noisy.”

2.8 Average29 Reviews

“Rooms were clean and breakfast was good. No regrets staying here. At first I thought the bed seemed jiggly and not as solid as other hotel beds but it was comfy. We weren't able to get the fan to stay constant on but the hotel was quiet despite being nearly full.Walkability: We walked to Panera for better coffee options. It was a very quick walk.”

“This was really a great place at a really low price. I paid around $70 for a Sunday night. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the building was clean and smelled good. My room was really cozy, but a bit damp smelling. The grounds were clean amd well kept. Being in an industrial park, the location isn't great if you're looking for night life, but if you want a nice room at an affordable rate, this is a great choice. Also, the pool and hot tub area were really great. Nice and open, well kept, and a large hot tub.”
