“The hotel seemed clean, the front desk staff was friendly and most of the time greeted me when I arrived or left, the breakfast was good and plentiful, and the hotel was quiet and convenient to get to downtown Madison.

I loved having Target and Hy-Vees one minute away, as I seemed to need something almost every day. Each of them have a Starbuck too! Hint: the Target Starbucks isn't allowed to accept tips.

Walkability: This hotel isn't in a walkable location, though you can walk to quite a few restaurants and a couple of grocery stores that are in walking distance, if you don't mind walking across parking lots.”

“As a former kid of Legacy Academy, i thought I’d give my two cents. Yes, it can be dirty and smelly in the play area, but that’s to be expected in a place where kids are free to run around and play and get sweaty as they please. I didn’t really mind it much when i was younger, all i was paying attention to was what thing i should play on next, but it can be hard to ignore if you’re not a kid playing around. Basically, don’t expect it to be spotless. With how many kids play in Legacy Academy daily, no wonder it smells like gym socks sometimes. That’s what happens when you let a bunch of kids loose to go play in a place like this ? they get sweaty and stinky. I do remember that as dirty as it did get sometimes, it would always be cleaned. Maybe not right away, but by my next visit whatever mess was there last time had been completely cleaned. If you’re really concerned about germs, maybe just bring some hand sanitizer for after your party! (and of course wash hands!)”

“We had our wedding here 11/5/2022 and we could not be any more pleased with how everything turned out! We didn’t have the best weather but the fact they have the main area plus the sunroom/patio area allowed us to have an indoor ceremony space separate from our dinner area which was a key factor for us while looking for a venue. We will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a venue space in Madison!”

“Room was big and clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Shuttle from the airport was nice (call ahead to set this up), and because I have to say one thing that I didn't like, there were four pillows and none of them were comfortable to me, but not a big deal in the big picture.”

“One of my favorite venues, they have incredible lighting for photographers to get very well lit shots. They have seating sections so you can sit and sip on a drink, or a very large dance floor so you can be up and close to the performance.”

“I attend Blackhawk Church, and we use the Upper House for our downtown location. We were formerly using the Magestic Theater. A little trivia: The space the Upper House occupies use to be a Food Court.”

“The best venue in Madison when it comes to EDM music. Really wonderful staff! There are multiple bars so even when it's really packed you don't have to wait forever to get a drink. Bathrooms are big, I usually don't have to wait to pee or if I do, it's a super short wait so I can get back to the music! The artists that they get are so ?? and the local DJs are absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend for a good rave experience!
VIP is definitely the move for this venue if you are a sound gremlin tho! Don't expect to hear the best sound at the rail bc you unfortunately won't ? They need speakers and subwoofers in the middle of the stage to really round out the sound. If they beefed up their sound and added some lasers they would just be taking *all* my money instead of just *most* of it ?
I will also add that I am a sound gremlin and I still super love this venue!”

“Beautiful Historic Hotel with nice rooms. Very pleasant staff and a big Thank You to Judy. She went out of her way to make sure my friends and I have everything we needed...even some tools to work on a motorcycle. Breakfast was delicious and our server was excellent. They truly deserve more than 5 stars. Can't wait to come back in the fall.”

“Madison has lots of great music venues but The Orpheum is still a classic fav. Saw a great show with Brian Setzer. Nice that you can bring drinks into the venue. Bar service was good. Ladies bathrooms are small and lines can be long! Definitely a good venue for the right show.”

“Pretty much a standard hotel. In walking through the front door your first hit by the chlorine smell from the pool. On one side is the pool on the other side is the bar. You get to the front desk straight in front of you and they're nice enough. The bar stays open until 10:00 p.m. so those late night drinkers are going to be disappointed. No valet service or bring in the bags to the room for you. You get to the room and it's a standard hotel room, to thin but the tables, TV, mirrors, are new. You get. I never knew water came in white with a fuzzy head, bring your own water. The rooms are very well insulated and soundproof but the windows are not. The interior rooms face the pool and the reception so all the kids in the pool noise came straight up to us. I don't know what the outside rooms are like but the views are not great and the neighborhood is a little dangerous. The mall is right across the busy road but I would take a car and the Chinese grocery store is right next to the mall. It was close to where we needed to go, about 5 minutes away but Madison traffic is a little difficult. We had to travel at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday so we only skid on the gravel once, spun the tires once, got turned around once, and ran over somebody trying to cross the busy road to get into the hotel only once. it's pretty bad.”

“This was an unexpected delight. We had visited a somewhat dingy college spot before this and they weren't serving beer that day, so we did a quick search and found Smittys. Took us a second to realize it was inside one of the buildings. But we were able to find it and the reception desk told us how to get to the pub upstairs. The pub is small and cozy in the best of ways, with a view of the capital building. The cheese curds here were among the best we had on our entire trip, but we didn't get to try any proper entrees since we'd eaten already. If this were my hotel bar, I would've gladly hung out here all evening with a book.”

“Stayed one night a room with 2 double beds. We were 3 adults and had plenty room. Bath and room amenities were good. Like that we were able to use our Netflix acct in room and watch shows.Location is great and we got a view of the Capitol building. Everything was very walkable with plenty options right by hotel or else withing a stones throw of state street. Also had breakfast at 'Audrey's'. Service and ambiance was very nice. Did not visit the bar during our stay but the place was busy and every bar stool taken. The bar tenders were busy and keeping their patrons happy.Parking is extra and cost us $25 a day. That was unexpected but is what it is.Would I stay again: sure but I will probably look for something that includes parking, if such a thing exists.”
