“The blacksmith is our favorite place to co.e and relax off season. We tried a few other places but had to come back to our old favorite. What a delightful experience again! Will come back every year!!”

“We honestly can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay this past weekend turned out to be! Upon arrival we were greeted by name by Adam, the owner/chef, who took the time to show us around, pointing out the amenities (like free snacks, where to find extra towels, etc) and then personally showed us to our room. He told us a little of the history of the room (it belonged to the innkeeper!) and then left us to get back to the kitchen. We followed shortly afterwards and had a wonderful dinner out on the patio, ending with Adam stopping by our table to make sure all was as we had hoped it would be. The room itself was absolutely lovely, very comfortable, and just plain charming. The entire lodge is gorgeous and just dripping with history and charm. From the fireplace in the lobby, surrounded by comfortable furniture, to the wonderful photos of the resort from nearly 100 years ago, this lodge is a very welcome respite from the run-of-the-mill hotels that are all too common in this day and age. A special shout-out, too, to Angelica, who took out plenty of time to explain the history of the resort and to offer suggestions for nearby attractions, dining, etc. We will most certainly be back to this gem!

Rooms: The rooms are brimming with charm. Lots of touches that harken back to what the resort must have looked like in the 1920s and 1930s. Book a suite or a deluxe lodge room for extra space, since the regular lodge rooms are fairly small.

Nearby activities: This is a great resort for those who golf, since it’s right on the golf course.

Safety: This small lodge feels homey and very secure. It’s in a very quiet location outside of Bailey’s Harbor.

Food & drinks: Gatsby’s Grille, on property, has an upscale menu that didn’t disappoint at all. Excellent food, excellent service!”

“Outstanding hotel for couples or family, very impressed. We stayed fri-mon and although it was a weekend without the kids or dog they would have both been comfortable and entertained. There was actually a dog bed in our room so that was a nice touch. There is a pool, hot tub, various social areas with fire pits, a fenced dog area, and a pretty decent Continental breakfast. There are also snacks, beer, , drinks, frozen pizza they will cook for you, and treats for sale at reasonable prices. It's only a few minutes drive from downtown sister bay which adds to the overall experience. There was a gentleman at the front desk (might have been the owner) who was quick to help and seemed very laid back. When the wife and I visit DC again with the kids and dog we're definitely staying here. The only suggestion I would give is to upgrade the pillows. We had a king suit but the pillows were oddly small, not necessarily uncomfortable cause there were 40 of them but maybe a few less bigger pillows would work better. Still 5 stars.”

“The inn was beautiful! Owners were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and amenities was perfect. It is also close enough to town & we walked to town every day!”

“This was a great lodging option for my first visit to Door County. Ephraim is a cute sleepy town. I loved the private water overlook area with chairs. The rooms were good. We enjoyed the hot tub. There is no elevator that I am aware of so keep that in mind for accessibility purposes. Bring quarters and soap if you want to do laundry, though the front desk did have change and soap available to purpose!”

“Wonderful Surprise! 2 day stay and we would come again. Our standard room (at a very fair price for Door County) was huge: king bed with nightstands and reading lights on both sides, sitting area with love seat, 2 chairs and coffee table and a fireplace, small dining table, highly functional kitchenette, enormous soaking tub, big walk-in closet with space saving pocket door, modern bathroom with walk in shower; great water pressure! We even had a lovely deck where you could choose to sit in the sun or the shade. This place looks like it might have previously been one of our typical Door County aging inns with 80’s style furnishings and bad bathrooms, that someone bought and smartly upgraded. The old touches are there, but modern upgrades are obvious. We were told that 2 sisters now own this place, and kudos to them for maintaining historic charm while providing a clean, fresh look to the rooms and bathrooms. Thoughtful touches like creamers in the fridge for your morning coffee, a custom made cabinet front to cover the mini fridge so it blends with the other cabinetry, a cute collection of decorative plates invoking Door County charm, are just the kinds of things that most places don’t think to do. We are in Door County all summer and just needed a weekend place at this particular time, but we will definitely recommend Lodgings to all of our friends and family who come up the Door for a visit.
Best Part: Our room was ready much earlier than check in so the lovely woman from the office called us to offer early check-in (and we weren’t easy to find, as we’d mistakenly typed our email incorrectly) How Thoughtful!
Thank you, sisters, and best wishes on your much deserved, continued success.”

“We've stayed at RunAway Lodge for 4 years and it's a great place to stay. Our dog is welcome and the fee is lower than all other places we've stayed.
We stay in a kitchenette room which is very handy. The owners are so nice and helpful.”

“In the center of everything we had a beautiful clean suite with a deck...on third floor...with comfy chairs and spectacular view of harbor and sunsets. Full kitchen, comfortable bed and big bathroom with a great shower. Next door to Post Office Restaurant with good food and a short walk to Wilson's for icecream!!”

“The Lull-Abi is a cute inn tucked in the woods. Each room has an exterior entrance. They were on the rear of the building, facing the woods (which somehow felt safer to me). The rooms were appropriately sized. The double queen room had the sink on the outside of the bathroom, which is nice when multiple people are getting ready.

Things I liked-
- If you didn't want room service, you could place your used linens in a laundry basket (provided) outside your door. The linens were replaced with new linens and left for you.
- Soap, shampoo, and conditioner were Door County brand. They smelled nice.
- a fireplace, table, and chairs in front of the inn were inviting.
Dislikes-
- No elevator for stairs to the second floor
- Our beds were both incredibly firm- it was like a board with slight bounce.
- My brother stayed in a single queen. His bed was the opposite- very soft.
- As much as I appreciate the Door County soaps and stuff, I feel like it is irresponsible of provide these instead of refilling full sized containers.
- No pool.
- The free Wifi was really spotty.”
