“Don't judge this hotel by its old exterior. It still has a 60's look, but it is fully refurbished. It is meticulously clean, convenient to shopping, and the most hospitable staff you will ever find in a hotel. Try it once and you'll be hooked!”

“After reading many reviews, we picked this beautiful inn to stay at during our trip to Door County. It was even better than expected! All the rooms are very spacious suites with nice views of the water. Being right on the Sturgeon Bay, it has a big lawn, a pier, and seats for watching the magnificent sunsets. Though it is in a quiet area off the beaten path, it is within a short driving distance to Sturgeon Bay museums and restaurants (including Culver’s, McDonalds, and local restaurants), and not far from many other tourist attractions in Door County. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite had a full kitchen, large living room, fireplace, jacuzzi, and deck, and it was very well-maintained and nicely decorated. Next time we visit Door County, we will stay here again!”

“Nice location with great customer service, someone was being loud and playing obnoxious music next to us from 11:30pm to almost 3am and we asked to be moved the next morning and they got us set up in a new campsite no problem. Great amenities, just make sure you take showers in the actual shower rooms and not the pool showers ahaha.”

“I booked a room for just me and my dog over Thanksgiving weekend for a little mini vacation while my kids & husband went to visit my mother-in-law. When I checked in on Thanksgiving Day, I promptly locked myself out of my room while unloading my car and had to call the owners to let me in. I told them that if they were in the middle of dinner, I would be happy to take a hike for a while and meet them later, but they insisted that they were only a few minutes away and would see me in 5 minutes. The first room had a queen bed, full sofa & kitchenette and was clean and comfortable if a little bit dated in decor. I slept well and took off early the next morning with a full mug of coffee brewed in the hotel room and drove a little north to catch the sunrise at Jacksonport Beach. Shortly after breakfast, I got a call from my husband who said that his mom wasn't feeling well after their couple of days visiting her, and could they come to join me in Door County?I called the hotel office line which transferred to the owners at home - I told them my predicament as I didn't want to have 4 people + a dog in a room with just a queen bed without their permission. They asked me to give them a few minutes to see what they could work out and called a little later to let me know that they had a room with 2 double beds that they could move us to so we could be more comfortable. This room also had a kitchenette and table but did not have a couch since there were two beds. The kitchenette is wonderful to have - especially with a family as we can get breakfast into the kids before traipsing around the peninsula. The second room was just as clean and comfortable as the first and the photos on the hotel's website are good representations of what they look like. They have porches with sliding glass doors, which face the woods. There was enough room for the kids to play between the beds and the TV stand/dresser (they're 3 & 6) and they loved having the playground area to blow off a little last bit of steam at the end of the day.The hotel was quiet while we were there (we seemed to be one of only 3-4 rooms booked over this weekend) and the peninsula had tons of family-friendly activities from great shopping to Holly Days in Egg Harbor, complete with Santa's arrival on a fire truck, and finally, all the great light displays after dark.All-in-all, I would absolutely book here again. I thought the lodge was very budget-friendly compared to other options on the peninsula, and it was conveniently located with easy access to Sturgeon Bay as well as to some of our favorite hiking trails mid-peninsula (Cave Point, Ridges Sanctuary & one of the Door County Land Trust trails we love). It was also an easy drive to all the action with Holly Days in Egg Harbor. The fact that this lodging also had a kitchenette with a full fridge and stove/oven was a kicker to the convenience and comfort our family found here.”

“We didn't stay in the lodge, we just golfed. Nice, basic course. Could use some TLC. Update 7-7-22: Still needs the TLC. Lots of burned-out areas. Greens are ok, tee boxes are in tough shape. In their defense, it has been pretty dry lately. Update 8-26-23: course is in pretty good shape. We had no beverage cart on a Saturday, disappointing.”

“I am a photographer that has photographed a few weddings at Stone Harbor and I just have to say that it is a great spot for a wedding! It's large enough for a big guest list, will take care of all the catering, and has plenty of rooms so your guests don't have to drive. The lawn outside, with a few of the water, is a stunning ceremony site. And as a photographer, I love the waterfront views of the bridge and stunning sunsets!Rooms: Lots of roomsNearby activities: Within driving distance to all Door County attractionsSafety: I never had issues with safetyWalkability: Located in Downtown Sturgeon Bay within walking distance to shops and restaurantsFood & drinks: Has onsite food and drinksNoteworthy details: The waterfront views are amazing!”

“I read other reviews and want to say, we had a microwave in the room, refrigerator worked great, and free coffee 24 hours in lobby, and no mildew smell at all.We had great service, and the king suite with a hot tub was spacious, clean and comfortable. Only reason I gave it 4 stars as the room could be redecorated ( it's very outdated) and the brochure said continental breakfast but there wasn't one. We ate supper at Samuelson's and food, drinks and service were excellent. We will definitely stay here again.”

“We were here for a small wedding. The atmosphere was great but the bartenders weren’t very punctual with taking care of guests. They were sitting on a barstool just talking and not paying attention to the guests. The food was phenomenal though!”
