“About a year ago I bought a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab pickup--actually wanted to wait before I wrote a review. It was very clean, and had relatively low mileage (about 61k). George was the salesperson. He was friendly, courteous, and also fairly no nonsense about the deal--and I don't mean that in a bad way at all. We negotiated a bit, and I probably paid a little more than it was worth, but nobody twisted my arm, and the pick up was in very good condition.

Within a week after I purchased it the power steering pump was leaking and registering a fault code (I can't remember what it was). They told me to bring it in, but the next day when I went to start it, the truck was completely dead. I had it towed to them. Turns out the CPU (or whatever is the brains/module) was fried--nothing anyone really could've predicted. They fixed the power steering pump and CPU at no charge. So, they stand behind their inventory and care about customer satisfaction. They seemed like stand up guys to me.

I read a few reviews where people said they were rude, or asked about their income before being allowed to test drive, or thought they didn't get a good deal. I never had any issue with having an opportunity to test drive any of their vehicles, but it very well may have to do with the way you present yourself. I probably went back 3 or 4 times and they were accommodating each time. This is a business; they are there to make a profit and you can't begrudge them that. Do your homework and if you're unhappy with a proposed deal, you can always walk away.

I would shop here again.

UPDATED FOR 2024: I wrote the original review in 2018, for a 2001 Dodge Dakota I had purchased a year earlier. Still have the truck; still works great. I get compliments on it (when I wash it). George, who sold me the truck, is retired but I've been back a few times to look for other cars for my kids. They still carry quality vehicles, are no-nonsense (I mean that in a good way), and professional. Right now used cars are expensive, and that's just the way it is. Still, a good used car is always a better deal than a new car.”

“Upon arrival, I wasn't really greeted by anyone. I already knew which vehicle I wanted so I went to go look at it. Curtis was there and asked if I needed help. I told him I was interested in purchasing this vehicle. He pointed me to John who was very welcoming. We took the vehicle out on a test drive and I decided I wanted it. I traded my vehicle in for $500 hoping I would get out at least $1000. Regardless If I was taking home a different vehicle I wasn't gonna need my old one so I accepted. John and Curtis were very willing to work with me as I already had a big loan else where and needed to bring a missing $200 the next day. Overall my experience with Hazel Dell Motors so far hasn't been bad. It seems like Curtis and John really care for their business and their customers.”

We bought a lovely red dodge van but it just wasn't right for me so 3 days later we exchanged it for a silver Toyota Sienna that is just right.We got taken care of through out both purchases with excellent caring staff in all departments it was a relief because I H A T E.
