“Wonderful store with a surprisingly large selection of specialties from all around the Mediterranean. The owners clearly put a lot of care into finding great products.”
“I absolutely love HG.The staff is always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable!!Plus they make THE BEST sandwiches. ??My favorite are J's everyday or the little basil, both toasted”
“Owners provide a natural, organic experience with a top level wine selection, while providing much of what you could find in a small supermarket at reasonable prices for a small store!”
“This is a great store that many restaurants go to and is open to the public. My wife and I shop here for boxes of condiments such as mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and so on which we use when we're on road trips because they don't need to be refrigerated and come in handy for making sandwiches or when we barbeque as we don't take a cooler with us due to limited space. I also love getting bulk packages of meat and cheese. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities or just stocking up for your home. Staff is very friendly and helpful.”
“Every one of these employees will make your shopping experience easy and friendly and helpful, from explaining the benefits, of over the counter vitamin to help with the ingredients. To wonderful ideas for your meals of the day”

3746 W G St, Bremerton“The owners are so kind and sweet, like something out of the twilight zone. They insist on heating your food for you if you're going to heat something up. Usually I'd rather do it myself but these people are so kind and speaking somewhat limited English that its got me kinda like "hey what the heck thank you fir heating that up fir me, kind sir!" Honestly, I walked out of there with a smile on my face, and it's because the owners, man, and his wife were so kind to me. They were closing, so they said they could only heat up 1 thing lol but they were still so kind to help the man walking in as I walked out. I was treated with so much kindness despite it being closing time. Do you have any idea how the safeway staff treat anyone in the store around closing time? They remind you over a loud speaker every few min and start threatening not to let you pay for your items a good 15-30m before closing. Not to mention the uncalled for greeting when you walk in the door initially: a staff member singles you out abd very rudely tells you the store is closing in 20min" no "welcome to safeway " none of that. They literally yell at you and tell you the sooner you leave, the better! So I really appreciate it when employees don't act like that. Another good example is the staff at Sprouts. They are kind even at closing time. They all value their customers enough to treat them with decency at all times of day. The ppl running this place were adorably kind. I didn't even know they were closing until the man told me he only heated up one of my two items and he said something like: "but this will get you home then you can heat up this too. It'll be alright, you'll be ok, right?" LOL, of course I will be ok. How sweet the people working there are. Such a rare gem ?”

4502 N Pearl St, Tacoma“A little pricey, but 1 in 3 women will get cancer 1 in 2 men will also. So organic is expensive but so is cancer. Say no to Bill Gates GMO in your body. The sugar I buy here doesn't get me fat like the normal one does.”
“Wonderful food store for our small island. Well run and focused on customer needs. Shopped there for 40 years. A recent change in the software is pushing me to the IGA. Their new software requires scanning my drivers license to purchase wine. IGA and the liquor store do not, and state they will not, scan purchaser's Drivers license. There is no legal requirement to scan. Their issue is stated as liability if they mistakenly sell to a minor. Just raise the age appearance to 30. I am 77 and need to prove I am a minor?!”
“I went here for the first time the other day and it was so charming! The baristas were so friendly and welcoming and I loved the atmosphere. I saw another review describe it as a "hippie mercantile" which I think is the perfect description! I loved the stained glass, the Rosa Parks portrait, and the apothecary-type jars. :)”
“always have what I need A good variety of Asian foods.
That a lot of places don't carry. Most places don't carry actually outside of an actual asian store”
“The lady/cashier is absolutely amazing she's very friendly and she always drops what she's doing just to help you find what you need.If you blink you might miss it!so if you do get a chance to stop by dash point/browns point, do it! has a great view of Puget sound and the people are amazing”
“I hope they're able to grow into a larger store one day, so I'm happy to support them on that journey.Local produce and bulk goods are helpful for growing farms and communities. You can request special items and give kind feedback to the staff owners.Things to do nearby:You can buy fresh bread and pastries at Los Encantos bakery (try the tres leches cake). There's also a quality coffee shop, Cafe Corvo, to sit and read a book.”
“I had not been for a few years. It still amazes me the great prices vs civilian grocery stores. Simply cannot beat the prices of meats, vegetables, and pantry staples. Even going on a payday which is considered a bad day because of crowding and reduced stock, it was amazing. Super hanicap friendly. Plenty of staff. No long lines. Use your commissary benefits people....they cannot be beat.”
“Every day, good place. They have what you need and not a lot of fancy with good quality and competitive prices. Ten percent discount on Tuesdays is a big help to seniors.”
“What can I say - the oldest cutest little market right on the harbor. Home made waffles with either sweet or savory fillings. Multiple micro brews on tap. Serving locally roasted Valhalla Coffee…..Can you say YUM?!!!!!”

3710 Kitsap Way, Bremerton“Pretty standard convenience store. Been around a long time. Clean but kinda worn by time. Average prices. Kind of a difficult parking lot to get in and out of if there's traffic but it's connected along the back to an easier to access lot. Everyone I've interacted with has been nice. Haven't had a negative experience at R &H. It's on the way to work so I stop there occasionally but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. It does what you expect and it does it well enough, solid business.”
“This is a very nice shopping center. Displays are prominent outdoors and remain stocked, which in my opinion indicates that this shopping center is located in a very safe area. There aren't any outdoor products displays in the hood. Abundant parking, and a logical layout.”
“Love this little place. The Only place around when you need a cold drink. Or are camping and need some essentials. They even sell gas. Probably the last place to turn on your pump with a quick wave and a smile instead of making you prepay.”
Open 24 hours
4969 Kitsap Way, Bremerton“Perfect place to shop I love the selection so much product however do not steal from here it has a super tight security and they already save you so much money why take advantage and get thrown out gone fined trespassed arrested it's not worth it”

EDIT: Sad to say this is now a Safeway. Hoping they can keep the same standards of service.”

14220 92nd Ave NW, Gig Harbor“I came here after the remodel and Daryl was absolutely amazing. He helped me even though I was having a super bad day due to LOWES having crappy customer service. Daryl restored my faith in somebody who totally understands what it's like to be a first time home owner and find yourself in positions where you are fixing the house and really just need some small help. Daryl was that guy. It was a small faucet repair and he seriously was able to help and direct me in the right direction. I will be 100% coming back for more products while I upgrade my house. So happy with the service that I received. Thank you Lake Kathryn ACE HARDWARE!!”
“It's nice to see that this store is open again. Now open with new owners, it's about 80%done. You can stop in and grab a cold beverage , ice cream, motor oil, bag of ice, energy drinks, and a lotto ticket. Can't wait to see what else they do with the place. The deli section with hot foods is not open at this time. The liberty towing parking signs are spots for post office & Southworth grocery only. I confirmed that today.”
“Stopped in while renting a house nearby for our fall vacation. Man behind the counter was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They offer a nice variety of food, beverages, snack, etc. The parking area is small, but not too bad for a quick stop. They also offer gas 24 hours a day, which can come in handy. Prices are pretty standard for a small market. I'm sure we'll be back during our week stay.”
“It's close to home, so it's handy to run in and get what I need. Shelves are stocked well usually. I shop between here and Fred Meyer's. It has some things I can't get at Freddie's. Prices are comparable.”
“The staff was really nice and service was great, they had just what I needed for a pickup that was overheating. I did see a couple men that probably don't like me because they suffer from anxiety issues over laughing and hurt me when I was a kid, Dolan & brayburnson. They probably talk bad about me, Cody, but I've done nothing to anyone in this whole state, or anywhere else. Let it go people! Be polite to everyone. You never know when it may help someone having a bad day, YOU could be a cheeror rather than a irksome individual. It ain't my fault, or anyone else's. Being nice is what the adversary hates the most, and glaring a stare isn't helpful neither...,”
“We rarely shop this store anymore because we prefer another Safeway closer to our home. However, that store didn't have a brisket flat--or any brisket--which is what I was in the market (literally) for.
Anyway this 5-star rating is for the butcher who not only was extremely friendly and helpful but gave me some info I'd never heard or read elsewhere. All we remember was that he was tall, had blondish-brown hair and wore glasses.
I usually smoke my own beef jerky using sliced top round 'London Broil", and I smoke my own bacon from sliced pork belly. This wonderful butcher told me that he knows folks who not only make smoked beef jerky from brisket but make bacon from the point or the round. Ironically, he didn't own a smoker so he at times he confused the two parts of a beef brisket (and confused me as well).
But it was all knowledge I didn't have before and it also gave me summer project to schedule. He also asked me to come back and tell him how the bacon turned out after it's done. Darn but I wish I'd have asked him his name. But the most important thing was that he handed me a gorgeous brisket flat at the weight I'd requested.
Anyway, great customer service with added value always rates five stars with me. We may not shop that Safeway again for awhile but I will be going back to the meat department to find that butcher and give him a sample of my handiwork. And yes, I'll buy more meat from him. He's an example of what I've always maintained: make friends with a butcher in the meat department. You'll always get service above and beyond because in the end, it motivates you to buy more meat. I've amended this to also include making friends with a produce manager or clerk, and become really good chums with at least one cashier.
Because I've made a point of the latter, checkout time is party time for my wife and I and our favorite cashiers. And that actually makes grocery shopping fun.”
“This is our local supermarket and We were absolutely saddened & disgusted on Thanksgiving 2023!!!I can't believe that corporate Safeway would be open with "regular" hours today. Absolutely horrible for their image and worse for the poor employees that cannot even spend THIS day with their own families. Even trying to say they get overtime pay is Not an excuse. They should have closed about 2pm give us a break Safeway.”
“AMAZING PEOPLE!! Costumer service is great as well as the prices! The owner is witty and cares for his customers! Make sure to check this place out whenever in the area!”
“Driving to Seattle from Port Angeles and needed to use a bathroom. This was a bit off the beaten path, but it was a positive experience. They do not have an indoor bathroom, just a port-a-potty.Was able to fill up the tank and stock up on snacks and an energy drink. The staff was nice, and experienced no issues paying.”
